OMG!!!! Thank you sooooo much, last night I'd call Comcast support like 10 times and nobody can give me the right code to program my kitchen tv,which is a tv/dvd combo but isn't a hd tv.....again thank a lot!
Thank you for this video. This was for a used TV someone gave me. It had no remote of its own. I don't even know the model #. So I followed your instructions, and now I can control the volume and switch to "line 2" to use my DVD player with the Comcast remote, which is certainly more convenient than using the buttons on the TV set.
OMG this worked thanks to you. I had to hold both the Comcast remote for the cable and and TV remote to change the volume for about a year. But now that I followed your steps, I only need the Comcast Remote :)
Great video. I'm helping my needy friend re-set from power outage, and she's already paid a local electronics store $99 to do this, when the power went out again. They wanted another $99 to come out again. (They probably learned how from your video!) Thanks HTW GEO!
i switched cable boxes to different tvs and had to reprogram remote and spent way too i spent much time following instructions that came with remote. they worked when i first got the remotes but could not program to different tvs using the tv - off button . found this video, pressed channel up button about 15 times ,wah lah! reprogrammed both in about in about 5 minutes. Thanks!!
Thank you very much, broke flat screen, using old tv where none of the codes worked, did what you said and it worked, didnt actually crack the screen but it looks like it, glad for your video.
Thank You so much for this video! I was getting so annoyed because I couldn't program my remote to my smart tv. Then I came across this and it work perfectly! I really appreciate the Demo : )
Thank you very much!! I've been using 2 remotes to control the channels and the volume separately for 3 years. In 5 minutes your tutorial fixed that problem. Cudos.
I've had to always had to use the TV remote and the Comcast remote separately now I can just use the Comcast remote for both this is awesome thank you much sir and thanks for sharing
Worked exactly as described and works with channel down as well in the event your TV brand name begins with a letter that is closer to the end of the alphabet, I.e. Sony. Thanks for uploading this post it really made my move to my new home so much easier when I lost my TV remote.
Nevermind. I panicked for no reason. I just needed to give my television some time to settle and then I redid the process and it worked swimmingly! Thanks for the video! I was getting desperate! ;)
The beautiful thing about youtube is that you, yourself, can skip forward if you don't like the extra information he is providing. It is quite spectacular. Maybe you could try it yourself and still allow him to present extra information to those who may be less tech savvy than yourself? This way, those who need it get the extra information and you, yourself, can skip ahead of it at will. Modern technology is brilliant.
thanks man it works I lost my TV remote thanks to your video I follow your steps now I can go back to play video games thank you so much for your video thanks for helping👍👍👍👌
This worked perfectly. Thank you so much, my extended family had been using a jumbo remote to turn on and off their tv (it was embarassing). Easy tutorial, good job!
Save me so much time n frustration!!! Thank you so much for posting this and in such an easy to follow way!! Got an older model flat screen and couldn't get it programmed on my Comcast remote or my smartphone. This was a great save 😄
Thank You!!! This Worked!!! I was having trouble with the code working.. I tried several codes.. got the 2 blinks.. and it still wouldn't control the TV.
Are you using the TV channel control or the Cable box. the cable box will control the channels, and you keep the TV channel on one station (typically 3 or 4)
#OMG ! 🖥🎮🕹 I watched lots of #SelfHelp tutorial videos @UA-cam to setup the #Xfinity remote control with my TV. And your video "guidance" was the only one with the #instructions that actually worked. 🕹🎮🖥 Thank You ; I appreciate your #SelfHelp video #tutorial ! ! ! ! !
So I'm going through the channel up button steps watching the TV, when suddenly an old laptop computer (with IR) came on ... Never guessed that would be a side benefit of watching your video - Thanks!
have you tried turning up your TV volume via your TV remote. Sometimes you have to have the TV up high first, especially if your sound goes through a separate sound system.
OMG! I just did the set up with my emerson LCD flat screen dvr from Comcast I did what you said but instead of the 1 button I did the 0 so it went like this tv -setup then 991-0 then channel up and it went off and then hit setup. I now can turn it off and /volume all buttons are working now thank you I was going crazy.
I have the opposite problem, my TV is so old there are no codes for it. I tried your technique (took about 3 times), and while the TV never turned off with the Channel Up button (it just began going through the channels), eventually I've gotten it where on/off and channel select works. Mute? No. Thanks for the help, at least I can get the channel I want now!
Very proficient to me this video by far was the most professional and carried a lot of simple tasks that just about anyone could do which really makes it easy for someone like my mother or my children to be able to fix it if it ever goes out of whack again thank you so much and thanks for the grade A professional video BRANDON S.
How do you alter this tutorial to program for a Sony DVD player? We don't have the code and I tried to use the Aux button in place of the TV button in the tutorial.
Thank you for the hint @ 6:52. Nothing worked with my nephew's Emerson tv until I tried the power/tv...power/tv suggestion. Thank. It will turn the tv on/off, but it still won't work for the volume. (But at least he only needs on remote for turning the tv on/off.
Great video. Is there a way you can use your comcast Xfinity remote to control applications such as Netflix (say, use rewing, FF, Play etc. on your Xfinity remote while you are watching a Netflix show)...?? FYI, the Netflix (or Hulu plus or Amazon video etc. is streaming through the TV)...
I was on the phone with Comcast for half an hour and they couldn't help me.!!
Thank you so much!! It worked perfectly!!! You totally ROCK!!! ♫♪
OMG!!!! Thank you sooooo much, last night I'd call Comcast support like 10 times and nobody can give me the right code to program my kitchen tv,which is a tv/dvd combo but isn't a hd tv.....again thank a lot!
Wow! Guess what? Theses steps are listed in the remote control guide as well! You can read! You are my hero!
Thank you for this video. This was for a used TV someone gave me. It had no remote of its own. I don't even know the model #. I tried several methods taught to me by other utubers...this is the ONLY one that worked for my Roku Element 40" TV & xfinity remote...👍👍
This man is a genius. Thanks my girls lost the remote to her TV and I hate getting up when I'm comfortable to turn off the TV. It worked for seiki TV.
There should be more people like you in this world. Thank you! I did it and it worked.

This worked perfectly. Thank you so much, my extended family had been using a jumbo remote to turn on and off their tv (it was embarassing). Easy tutorial, good job!

Is it the same process to program a dvd/vcr combo to the remote? Like, use the "aux" instead of the "TV" button, but everything else the same?
wow this actually worked. thank you!!!!!!
I meant Rewind there - not rewing.. spelling mistake there!...
