  • In 2021 the Atlanta Braves were 51-54 at the trade deadline. They lost Ronald Acuña Jr., Marcell Ozuna and many more through injuries, but instead of waving the white flag for the season, they added. Picking up 4 outfielders via trade, all of which helped provide massive sparks for the offensive and secured the Braves 2nd championship since 1966.

Little Hiccup: Rosario's hit did not go between the third basemen and shortstop because of the shift.

Such an incredible season. A season that I will always remember. I remember clearly how Atlanta was the underdog in all of their playoff series. Felt good to take down the Dodgers and Astros.

Astros lost 2 of their aces in that postseason, not really underdogs

When you say you were a part of their organization do you mean as a fan or as a someone directly involved with the team? Just curious.

I was 12 the last time the braves won a world series. I was happy but I wasn't old enough to truly cherish it. For that reason, the 2021 WS win was so, so sweet to witness

if ronald acuna never got injured the braves whole trade deadline could’ve been a what if. They might not have made all those moves for OFs

Ozuna went down and had his situation and Pache was abysmal. We might not have gone for 4 outfielders but we definitely had to do something. Plus adding Richard Rodriguez to the bullpen gave guys like minter, Matzek, and Luke jackson less innings to cover. So they definitely needed a boost at the deadline.

Duvall's grand slam was in game 5, not game 6, which was the series clencher. Still impressive though. Loved the video by the way.

I miss those jerseys!! I don't know if it was Nike's infinite wisdom to change them or what but whatever the reasoning there is no good excuse. They took great looking alternate aways and turned them into spring training jerseys by swapping the light colored piping for red and it looks terrible. Apparently the team agrees because they have dropped their usage all the way down to 2 games this year so far. Nike wasn't done screwing them up either. They for some reason also removed one of the Braves biggest trademarks, the square piping on the belt loops. The Braves are the only team in baseball with such detail on their belt loops. Luckily they weren't dumb enough (or were told no) to removing it from the home uni's. If that weren't enough for some reason they decided to move the the piping at the bottom of the sleeve all the way down, removing the strip of white or grey below so that now they look like Phillies uni's along with a few other teams. Just bad decisions all around! Hell and that is without even bringing up the rainbow of different shades of grey on away unis where we see just how much each individual player sweats.

Agreed, I liked those jersey's. I was going to get the new Jays city connect but I'm going to hold off for now because this team is a dumpster fire at the moment.

First off who traded for 4 guys that are all outfielders? Anthopoulos, that's who. It's amazing how it all lined up with those trades. Basically each guy took it in turn to dominate a series. Joc hitting big important bombs against the Brewers. Eddie Rosario absolutely doing work and basically going 3 for 4 every night and finally Soler destroying baseballs in the World Series. It was a crazy time. I'm wondering if I should become superstitious because i've been watching every Braves game for nearly 30 years and without fail every time the bomb in the playoffs. There were 2 seasons where i couldn't watch live games and even fell behind about a week and what do you know they went to the NLCS the first one and did this the second one. Now I can watch live again, they have an infinitely better roster and yet 1 and done the last 2 years. I find myself seriously contemplating purposefully not watching live and fall behind lol

I thought they would’ve been lucky to make the playoffs and considering the previous season where they blew a 3-1 lead in the NLCS after just winning their first playoff series in 19 years, I was thinking that it was about to be a same old Braves moment until they made those moves at the trade deadline. Even heading into the playoffs I was nervous with how things were going to be and once they avenged the Dodgers, that felt like they got rid of a bunch of playoff demons at once and I thought they’d beat the Astros although they definitely had to earn it.
