the sugar sweetness Bart speaks of reminds me of my Tyrconnell 10 Madeira finish when it was in the first 6-8 months of being open, was more like cotton candy to me. It has since become more reminiscent of the tannins I'm familiar with from older Armagnac. I'm not super experienced when it comes to Madeira, but I've always gotten more spice forward influences from it and the nuttiness Scott mentions is more common with Port of the Tawny variety. I wonder how this one will develop over time. I also agree with others, for the price it should be closer to 100 proof. Edit: accidentally posted this on an unrelated comment.
Sorry for missing this video when it first came out. Wasn't a fan when I first cracked it, super artificial sweet and minty. It calmed down and the rye started coming out finally after a few pours . I'm a fan of the other releases but not sure I'd buy this again. Although, a mullet would totally go with this bottle.
I really really enjoy the flavor of this one,.. but 90 proof at $70 is like a kick in the teeth. I makes me want to drop the $$ and try the Blackened X Willett though.
What the heck is "Hi and Low Kentucky Straight Ryes". When did they saying Kentucky had Hi and Low regions? I love Rum cask finished Ryes but that marketing has me a bit confused.
It's referring to the amount of rye in the mashbill of each whiskey in the blend. I don't know the exact recipes, but it's probably something along the lines of a 51% rye vs 95% rye.
$49.99 locally, can’t wait to open this one.

Ha. Bart needs to crack it in a few weeks and give it another go.
Wow, that’s a serious moustache Bart!!🙂👍
It’s rocking right along. 😁
I wouldn't mind trying it, but it'd have to be a bit cheaper. Liking the facial hair Bart!
Boom
Bart adjusts his mustache…drink! New drinking game!
What did he do with his fingers pre stash…

Very interesting. Thanks Still. Bart wasn’t sure either. I do like the 95/5 rye
