Wow, add me to the list of people surprised you can use masking fluid on top of paint! I’m sure I also wasn’t the only one uncomfortable with that dry brush on the left side. 😅 Thanks for the great video! You rock.
I'm so surprised that the masking fluid doesn't seem to have pulled up the color at all! Maybe I just got the wrong kind? It's pulling up so much color on everything I've practiced on and that would really mess with my foreground.
@@kristinvanleuven no, I have been planning to return this for something specifically for watercolor because I hadn't realized there was a difference. I'll have to work on getting better paper, but this is a gift. Also I'd be surprised if the paper quality would lead to so much color coming up... I think it's definitely this fluid. It would be fine for making it completely white, but I watched this video and had so much confidence in my ability to do exactly this. 😂😭
The side by side view is a huge help!

Very helpful video! Thank you so much Kristin
thanks, i'll definitely try the masking fluid tip and i'll also buy a larger brush ^^
Hi Kristin, could you please tell me what the big brush you use in this video? Thank you in advance!
Great points! Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you!💙
Great ideas. If you don't have masking fluid you could angle your painting slightly so that a bead forms and keeps your edge wet.
Yes! Great tip. Thank you! ♥️
This video explained everything : )
Thanks!
Right but how much water and paint should you have on the brush or even the paper?

Are you using masking fluid made especially for watercolor? It could also be your paper. 100% cotton paper in my experience makes a huge difference!
