I am a big fan of funk and disco, and this is one of the very best funk / disco songs I have ever heard! I can't understand why it is not much more well known. Heck, I can't even find it on Wikipedia or Songfacts ......... where does one go to learn a lot more about this group and this song? There should be, like, an entire documentary on it, just like there is for Hotel California or L.A. Woman.
Yes, of course I read the description. But I certainly wouldn't consider that brief description to contain "a lot" of information. I am looking for a heck of a lot more info than what is found there. Like, in-depth interviews with band members, the story behind the lyrics (such as, was there a real-life "Miss Manhattan" that inspired the song, etc.), info about critical reception, an interview with the producer(s) that discuss all of the various challenges and triumphs of recording this song, what other songs were sampled for the bass line, drums, etc., which of their contemporaries inspired them most, a chronology of Metropole's history, starting with the band being founded and then providing all of the different personnel changes throughout the years, as well as the reasons behind each of the personnel changes, etc., etc., etc. Where can one go to find all of this, and more?
Appeared in karaoke scene A bigger splash movie - Ralph Fynes Tilda Swinton - tried to Shazam - but only instrumental version came up when I found Metrapole vocals version
