Thanks for noticing! it's the mic in this case - an external Rode SVM with the 'Dead Kitten" windscreen. It looks more like a Tribble, actually. The camera is a Panasonic GH1. I do white balance, focus, and exposure manually and often shoot video with a collection of (fast) vintage 35mm film lenses in adapters.
