Growing up watching, “Who’s the Boss”, Looking at Tony Danza now playing this character kind of makes me smile in a weird way. This is so out of character for who I saw in that show some years ago
I grew watching Who’s The Boss reruns too. I love seeing Tony Danza as a mob boss, you can tell he’s having fun with it lol

The actors that portray Marvin and Lou (London Brown and Malcolm Mays) are originally from California. I believe Mekai is from Jersey so that wasn’t a reach. Hailey was raised in Portland, Oregon and was adopted by a Caucasian family, so she really got into character. Patina was raised in South Carolina.

I watched this prior to seeing some episodes and again by episode 7. The lady playing Shannon said "her mind will be blown" lol it was literally 😂. I love Raising Kanan. Great show!

Right! Kanan was smart and heading towards college, but he just had to wanna run the streets! That’s usually what happens. My brothers and sister ran the streets too, and we all came from a religious household with both parents around. Kanan had more of an excuse to take that path considering his whole family was in the game. I wouldn’t mind an origin story for Marvin, Raq and Lou. Granted, both parents were in the home, but that mama of theirs is a trip, and their daddy was an alcoholic musician. See, that just goes to prove that just because both parents are around, if the family unit is toxic you can still lose your kids to the streets.
It's great to hear from the cast!❤ as for the writers, please no more family killing family 😢 There're other ways to tell a story ❤

They’re not NYers, they gotta use a fake accent. And 50 Cent’s accent is very distinctive so it’s understandable why Mekhi’s accent is so different.
