I call this the baby Shaman. That knife is my favorite among my collection. That's why I decided to get my Lil' Native. I also have three Native 5s. Really love those. If only they came with a compression lock instead of a backlock...
Yeah, the lack of comprehension lock was exactly the reason I went with a Sage 5 over the Native 5. That said, I'll get a Lil' Native compression lock eventually...
Perfect knife for me. No bigger than it needs to be, but big enough. Great quality materials and build quality. Got mine with regular shiny blade. Not intimidating to other people at work.
@@IllinoisDailyCarry A supervisor at work saw my Syderco Manix 2 and was displeased, the stated reason that the blade length was over 2.5". But, really, most Spyderco knives just look indimidating. So I found the least intimidating Spyderco that I could. The Lil Native is a "normal" looking knife, which is fine with me. But it is a very good Spyderco, all the same. I really like it!

@@IllinoisDailyCarry i agree, but the quality is there so I don’t mind paying for them. Unfortunately spyderco is a newly acquired collection sickness for me. 😑
Go this little thing and it’s definitely one of the best small edc out there but yes the price is little bit in the high end are you going to get some scales for it ? Anyone else tried the flytanium scale ?

@@IllinoisDailyCarry 😂 its a great knife, and great color. I usually do not like small knives because i have big meat slappers, but this lil guy is awesome! @@IllinoisDailyCarry I have this one and the lockback version. In knives this small on the fly I like a more solid locking system. I’m not really fidgeting with it so much…. Still a great knife and agree with LyNw clips….. a must for any spyderco
The native is small enough but spyderco making the lil native IMO was kinda stupid folks I love spyderco and their definitely my favorite company but this knife is riiiiiiiiidiculously small. Maybe it's appropriate for a tiny person or child but definitely not an average sized adult.
I feel it fills a nice void if you're looking for something a little higher end but Chicago legal. I will agree, this thing vanishes in my hand but the ergo is still pretty damn good when using it.

The compression lock would make so many of their models more appealing to me.
@@IllinoisDailyCarry yep its a damn shame you can't get the native 5 with a compression lock. Would be my favorite knife

The compression lock is such a revolution over the liner lock. i am a HUGE fan of back-locks, though, so...
Native, Native Chief, Shaman and Lil Native. All great knives.
@@matthewkuhl79 I wish IL didn't have such goofy laws on blade length. Thanks for the comment.

It does seem the black'd out versions usually tend to strike more fear.

@@tiddybagel about people's feelings towards blacked out knives?
@IllinoisDailyCarry Yeah black is more subdued and shiny = scary scream murder knife lol
I have a standard Lil Native, black G-10, S30V. It was too expensive. But I must say I like it a lot.

I'm (slowly) acquiring my top 5 list. Gotta find a way to justify buying more knives I don't need hahaha. Glad this could help.
Just got a rec exclusive lil native. I’m pretty sure it’s california legal so that’s why I got one. Love me some
Para 3s also 🙌
Me too. Congrats on scoring one!
@hiphop909 I hope they do a repeat of the REC Para3
@@IllinoisDailyCarry 🤞🤞 same
Lol all the spyderco knives are up there in price even the budget line. Just bought this one for $130

Awesome. I think I'll pick one up 👍
Just subbed btw love the channel format. I'm with you on the blacked out knives
Just something about 'em.
Great video ! Short sweet and to the point. Can you leave a link for the clip ?

I do not but I have been eyeballing them.

*Para 3, not "Para Military 3"
Hahaha, I feel like I caught myself making that mistake in my black & tan Para3 video.
Well the previous run was actually called Para military 2, So Para military 3 and “Para 3” is pretty easy to confused…
I have handeled it and i wiuld not buy one.
Why not?
