lol midi makes all the normal songs sound like complete trash and makes the song we all get bored of and hate, which is the practice mode song and made it sound better than the normal songs lol, and the death sound actually sounds more like failure
It's not the MIDI. It's the Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth that makes it awful. If a continous sine wave or square wave was played as each note, then that would sound much better.
It's not the fact that they are midi. They actually have always been midi. Midi is like a map of the notes to play, kinda like a music sheet, and each note is associated with an instrument. In fact most video game music is midi. What he did to make it sound awful is he changed all instruments to piano.
I hate weebs actually, a lot of games use .ogg but the comment above you is the one that is correct. He basically reset it to the default midi config, meaning that all of the previously existing modifications to a default midi file are removed.

I think some of these would actually sound good if the notes weren't mistimed. For example, the beggining part of ToE would be perfectly fine without the mistiming. Obviously it wasn't your fault, but you might need a better mp3/wav>midi converter.

I think one of the major issues is that the lower pitched sounds are louder on a piano, so what is supposed to be giving the rhythym to each song instead just blots everything out with someone headbutting a keyboard.

The sync issue is caused by the software synth. Use something like VirtualMIDISynth. It requires you to have a soundfont on your harddrive but it's a lot better than the synth that comes with Windows. VirtualMIDISynth has better performance, stereo sound, reverbs, and you can disable latency (The core of this issue), and you can make it sound however you like.
