I pull my phone out to pretend to look at something when i’m nervous or feeling awkward, even tho i have nothing to look at the screen. Sometimes, i often look at my phone to check at the time(i have a compulsive need to estimate time.) This is a generation where phones are a necessity(to some extent.) So long as she doesn’t give most of her attention and focus to the phone and she’s showing a clear interest in you, i think it’s worth giving her a chance.

I have traveled to both the Philippines and Thailand many times (And other countries) and I have never encountered the same type of attitude as I have in the US. Women in the US are different from other cultures even if you don't know it yet.
