The memories!!! When were these systems installed? My primary school had this very system! (PIRs were different they had a mix & match of different types) but the system had 2 keypads (1 in the main building and 1 in a mobile classroom) 3 Initial Shorrock Bell boxes (1 on the mobile classroom 2 on the main building) and 1x Big (by comparison) Shorrock Bell box which now thinking back must of been a dummy box? round the back of the building. The system is still the same all these years later! Only difference is the Bell boxes (apart from the Shorrock one) are now completely faded and are just white boxes now. The mobile classroom Initial Bell box was replaced with a Chubb Bell box in 2021. And the whole mobile classroom removed and destoryed due to "old age" earlier this year which I'm guessing that system went with it. I'm guessing it must of been 2 separate systems for the Mobile classroom and main building. Also guessing the systems were installed at the same time. It was the large Shorrock Bell box that always caught my eye as a child. I still wonder what it's history was. A Dummy or just a old box from a old system. Lol
This particular system is from 1998/1999. I would have loved to have attended a school with that sort of system. Quite popular in schools in Wales it seems. The large Shorrock pentagon (Model 170) is most likely a dummy box and all of them would have been 170s before Initial/Initial Shorrock replaced them with newer AS293s. The panel may have been original with the 170s if the keypads are branded as just Shorrock. If not there would have been an older panel such as a Scantronic 9600 or other sort of Shorrock branded panel.
That keypad has those fat little rubber grey buttons the older Microm keypad has. Memories, man. Memories. Apart from that though, the system looks and sounds so funky and awesome! I love it!
Initial (previously Shorrock) were massive on Aritech and used it for many years. Other than them, no one really used Aritech products, which is a shame as I really like them. Aritech was very very popular in Ireland along with HKC now. Yeah Chubb uses the new Advisor Advanced ATS panels made by Interlogix/Aritech, however, apparently they are no longer being made now.
The most Aritech/Initial/Shorrock setup ive ever seen ,thank you for getting this gear!
No problem! I’ve always wanted to have some sort of working Aritech/Initial/Shorrock system so I had to try and get this up and running.

Ive never seen a texecom odyssey 3x bellbox on your channel... do you have one
I do have an Odyssey X but it’s a wireless one.
This internal sounder doesn't sound like that
Yeah both the AS270s I have are faulty. Maybe due to water damage although the rest of the devices are fine.
