While Sutan's preschool was closed, we spent our time handcrafting all sorts of things🤣 Finally we made Tofu! I'm sure tofu is sold in every supermarket in the world, but homemade Tofu is so soft--the best tofu ever💓Share and let me know if you try Kimono Mom's recipe!

スータンは正直なので、あれだけ食べているのだから、美味しかったのですね。
以前、テレビで豆腐屋さんを取材して、にがりを入れる温度や入れ方で味が変わるんだ!って言っていました。微妙なさじ加減が必要で、成功するか心配していましたが、家庭でも美味しい豆腐が作れそうですね。
外国の方も豆腐が大豆で出来ていることを知らない人も多いと思うので、いい動画になったと思います。

While things are very cheap to buy, there is still so much satisfaction in doing it for yourself.
It is also very good for Sutan to understand where her food comes from and how it gets there.
I wish I had a mom like Moe. She admitted Sutan's feelings and expressions, not criticizing when Sutan makes child's weird speech or being unfocused on her question. This makes Sutan a more confident and positive child as she is now. I feel so happy to watch your video! Thank you for the effort of sharing your life with Sutan with us!

I never knew it could be homemade either! I think it's something that a person would have to double or triple the batch. Just like perogies! Hahaha
It was quite popular 20 some years ago in some parts of the world.
We had specials blenders that separates soy bean and the soy milk at home.
Lots of people make their own soy milk and by extension soy milk derived products at home during that time.
You can make everts at home, just a matter of time and effort you willing to put in.

Moe…this process of making Tofu is very similar to the way I make Marscapone cheese. I am Italian and, even for me, this is a time consuming process. I make it with my youngest daughter Mandi, she’s almost 19. And each time we get excited like we have never made it before! If you keep doing this with Sutan, she will carry this memory all her life and will teach her children, using the funny memories of this day.
Sutan will be a great cook like her mother one day. I love her enthusiasm!
I love this series on making traditional everyday Japanese food items! I have one of these Japenae Cyprus tofu presses and started making tofu during COVID - it's SO yummy. ( I use the traditional Japanese nigari for my coagulant/thickener.)

My Friday evening supper wouldn’t be the same without you lovely people. I’m making sausage (with some bacon in it), sauerkraut, and beets. I also sometimes get distracted while cooking and end up with something boiling over.

I have learned that making tofu is a stressful adventure at home.
As a hobby it is wonderful if you have enough time for it.
I regularly buy good quality tofu at my supermarket and prepare it in different ways.
My favourite preparing is to fry it in a pan a little bit with soy sauce. This is always delicious.

Excellent Moe. I love to eat ToFu too. It is is wonderful that Tofu is sweet by itself. It looks really soft too. We cannot get that kind of nice Tofu in our country. What coincidence ! Watching this, I was always smiling from ear to ear because your daughter is just so adorable! Also, I learnt something new today: that Tofu is simply Soy! I never even knew that because I never looked it up! No wonder I like Tofu! 😂 I actually love Soy Milk, so eating Tofu when it's added to a Seafood dish, makes it taste totally different since the flavours are infused into the Tofu from the juices! But yeah, I learnt something new today!
I used food grade calcium chloride for the coagulant. My form was a plastic food storage bin with holes drilled on the bottom and sides. The lid was cut so that it was flat and would fit the top inside the sides. A cloth was cut with end and side flaps that would overlap the top. I would press the tofu the same way as Moe with a jar of water, but I would just leave it overnight in the refrigerator. My recipe made 1.5 kg of tofu. For English speakers, there is the comprehensive BOOK OF TOFU by William Shurtleff and Akiko Aoyagi.

Wow im so jealous of such good Tofu making skills you have. Cool box I liked the way you shared the nice part that wasn't pressed on but I like that she got to see how delicate it was . The water bowl at the end was fun to see I don't think I like hairy tofu that much I saw some interesting video on that
