Do you use stands? Why or why not?
a very small room hence no stand :( not even clamp stands can help because the side of my desk are full of stuffs
I dont have monitors ..so I dont use stands😂😂🤣🤣
I have a super heavy desk, if I had to buy stands that get even close to it I would have to spend 4 - 500 bucks. Weight is key.
Yup, commented below, but I have the triangle-based ones you first spoke of and hear resonance with them. I am debating on whether to change or do a little duct tape to the cheap ones :)

I think the clamp on stands are perfect for standing desks and it gives more space and cleaner look to the studio
Good point - those are perfect for standing situations
But we talking about a professional sounding
@@aslime9953 Yeah... I'm sure you're a 'professional'. 😂 Where're all those 'dope beats' you been workin up in the lab dog?? 😂
This popped up on my feed literally the day after I got new stands for my monitors after having them on the desk for so long. I can confirm you're spot on - the difference has been instantly noticeable, on some songs I've been listening to on spotify instruments are a lot more defined and the bass is more pronounced.
Ok, I finally got some stands after watching this video for my Kali LP6 monitors. I went with the Ultimate Support stands in 36" and I cant not believe how much better my setup sounds. The stands were a bit expesive, almost as much as my monitors but the difference is night and day. Worth every penny!
Loooooove the look of your studio! So clean and streamlined!
The important advice at the end is amazing. Thank you for mentioning that! Also - Fully 100% totally agree!
Glad it was helpful!
Ofc sonjay ready with every video I need!!! Thank you.
Perfect timing. Great content. Love your videos.
I can also recommend getting the VideoSecu 2 Heavy Duty PA DJ Club Adjustable Height Satellite Speaker stands. I use these in tandem with some Acoustic Damper Pads and they work very well. Definitely an upgrade from having my monitors on my desk.
Man I was going to buy the presonus 4.5 and was searching for a good stand thank you so much Sanjay for this video🥰🥰
Sure. Anytime!
Useful video, thanks Sanjay, well explained and presented in your usual warm and pleasant style.
Congratulations on your 100,000, i didn't realise I was one of your early subscribers a year ago. Well done, my friend.
I have a pair of the triangle based stands and they do wobble as you found. The stands were good value but I decided to experiment while we had the builders in. I tried mounting my Yamaha HS8 monitors on towers of concrete breeze blocks with acoustic isolation platforms at the top.
It's no pun to say that the sound is much more solid and focused.
Thank you, Paul. I really appreciate you following me for so long!
@@SanjayC back in your early days, you were so good already that I thought you'd been YouTubing for years!
Thanks. Nice survey. Concise. Clear. Price conscious.
Was looking for a proper video to get a good monitor stand since 4 months, thanks for making this video 🙏🏼
You’re welcome. I thought it would be useful
I use the Gator Frameworks desk clamp stands. They’re great!
Love your contents SANJAY!
Keep it up.. Your channel is growing so fast!!
Thanks a ton
@@SanjayC my pleasure ❤️❤️💜
I think for me the isolators are the best fit. There are always compromises when your space is multi-use. I use three screens for work in the same space, which creates some extra reflective surfaces likely not conducive to critical listening. I've been switching to headphones a lot to check what I'm hearing. Thanks for the video.
You're welcome. The isoacoustics are a must-have in my opinion
WOW what timing! I JUST made a video a couple of days ago comparing two different monitor stands, on stage and the ultimate support stand.
G dang it, Sanjay! I just search it, and there you are! I appreciate you so much, man. You have no idea
Happy to hear that, Trenton! :-)
Very helpful, thank you. I think the first stands (the ones with the triangular base) are made in China by a number of OEM manufacturers, some with higher quality standards than others. I used to live in China and bought a pair by a company named SoundKing. Then I returned to the UK and bought a pair of stands that looked identical to the SoundKing ones, however, the ones I got in the UK were really poorly made and I ended up returning them and getting a pair of more expensive K&M stands. And yes, the ones from the UK were too made in China.
Great video sanjay 👍🏻
I’ve bought the 1st stands in this video 3x since like 2013 😂
They serve there purpose
Wow simple and smart stands😍
Practical yes. And you don’t need spend too much money on them.
Idk if just me but I feel like a kid again excited to watch his cartoons in the morning when you upload especially on Saturday’s lol. Love the videos!!
I love this
LOL! Have you ever heard of the cartoon Sanjay & Craig? lol
@@SanjayC I have!!! Nice catch lol
Great video, bless.
I'm in a tight space and I use the "Rockville RRS190S Foam Studio Monitor Isolation Pads 7.5" x 9.5"/3 Angles". Better than sitting on the desk. I'll keep these in mind when I eventually upgrade and get in a bigger space.
Sweet!
I have the Gator Frame work Clamp studio monitor stands. Its really very handy if you put it on a standing desk where you don't have to adjust the stand heights.
Nice!
Great video!
Whoa studio is looking green and fresh!
Yeah, I want to put it in my sandwich!
A bit impractical to use 5 stands on top of each other, but guess I'll give it a try!
Ayo sanjay love your videos! Keep 'em comin' eh?
Thanks so much!
Good morning! I'll have to save this info for when I get decent monitors!
Yes! Output monitors man!!
Great video
This is what Im waiting for haha
Currently using a stand I made by myself that I mounted into my desk
Might get something from one of the ones you recommend so my speaker wont be in my table for more space
Yes, get it off your table. Best plan!
I did not know that stands could help this much in music sir.😀😁😃☺🙂
Excellent
To anyone who watched this regardless of what stands you use take Sanjay's advice and get the isoacoustics as well. Recently purchased a set of Adam A7X and they sounded amazing out of the box. About a month later I added the Iso stands and the contrast in terms of clarity was day and night.
Or just 4 sorbothane pads under each will do the same for much cheaper.
I have onstage sms6000 which is the cheapest of them all, mine doesn't feel wobbly at all, may be the Stand which you got had some manufacturing design issue.
I would recommend stands to anyone, they make a huge difference.
I noticed you having kali LP8, I've the same monitors.
It would be awesome if you can review the product.(your thoughts on the product)
Bdw very nice video, informative and astounding 🔥🔥
Been using those On-Stag SMS6000's for 10 years now. Hold up great, and do what they need to. I will agree, they are wobbly though. However, they literally are never touched, so all good!
Yeah they are a good value. But I just can’t stand that wobble!
Good one bud, subbed
Thanks for the sub!
I love green studio 🌱
Thanks! It looks fresh, right? Haha!
I need 2 stands for these Tannoy Reveal 5R (a loan) to get them off the floor. Isolate! Looks matter, but no the primary conern. I agree that cable chanells to keep things clean. Thanks for the content.🖖
Thank you for the great content :)
What kind of microphone stands would you recommend to record Tabla?
I have some padded tripod style stands from pyle. They were only 45 bucks from walmart and are solid ad a rock. I have my kali audio LP-8's on them.
Cool...budget solutioN!
I got a pair of Skytec stands (like the various identical ones in the first lot of your review, and not like what they advertise now), and they DO NOT WOBBLE!
I certainly haven't tried to spike them into my tiled concrete floor, and I'm really happy with them. What's more, the downstairs neighbours have never complained, whereas they used to call the police because of a poxy woofer on a cheap home cinema set-up I had.
When ordering them, I thought "HOW much for stands???" but I'm so glad I did. We're talking maybe 7 years here! Cannae mind cos I'm a daft old codger.
Nice recommendation!
Thanks for the tips! One question - do I need pads in between speaker and the stand, or are the pads only useful if you place your speakers directly on the desk?
Check out the DMSD decouplers. THE BEST. Hands down.
Hi Sanjay, thanks for a great review video. Any good speaker stand recommendations for KrK rokit rp5 G4? Thank You
Hey Sanjay! I’m currently running an overhead and kick mic for my drum recording into a presonus usb96 and the tone is great but I’m having a hard time getting the “definition” that I desire from the recording. They end up being muddy sounding and get buried in the mix. I was wondering if there was some kind of cheap fix to this issue instead of buying a whole new interface and a couple more mics to put directly on the drums. Thoughts?
Nice video Sanjay. Recently purchased Audioengine speakers. I love the grass wall panel you have. I have question for you regarding the artificial grass panels.
I am using the speakers in my office and the room has some echo issues. So thinking to put the fake grass panel on the front wall that would I think look nice and hopefully reduce echo. I am planning to put acoustic panels on left and right sides. Does the grass panels help in reducing echo? Or I would need acoustic panels on the front wall as well?
Thanks
I don't currently use stands, although, I have been thinking that I might need to. Currently I am using my Presonus Eris 3.5s on the styrofoam packing from the box they came in. Oddly enough that puts the tweeters at ear level. And at approximately 2" thick they insulate the speakers from my console desk nicely
Thanks for the video! How about the DR pro stands? Dose it What are you think if it’s a wood made or metal stand?
Great. My desk is too crowded and my speaker placement isnt ideal. Ive been considering some stands again. I do have a pair in storage but finding them is always the issue. The ones i have are also wobbly too. I used to use ultimate support keyboard stands for years so they look awesome. The desk versions might work too (Limited space). Maybe a new set of stands will be my next big studio purchase.
Are they the triangle base ones? I haven’t had much luck with those.
@@SanjayC No. I dont even remember what brand the are. They're wooden with a broad base and metal top. I bought them a LONG time ago. The post doesn't fasten down to the base that well and that's the wobbly part.
This video drops as soon as I was on B&h about to by the Auray equivalent of the triangular base stands 😂
Haha!!! What did you end up buying?
Where can I find more of your music on spotify? Loving the background music on these vids!
right now ive got mine on two small coffee tables. about a foot too low. going to pick up some stands and hopefully a new desk today
Sweet!! You're going to love the new look!
@@SanjayC I ended up getting the Samson MS200's; I have HS8's and I don't like that the stands are smaller than the speakers. The stand being 6.5", and the HS8s being 10". It did make a difference but i just feel i need bigger stands. Does it matter? What do you think?
Thanks for the review!!Do you have any recommendation for 'Dynaudio LYD-48' because i think they are too big for the normal stands.
Once again...Sanjay provides great options along with great advice along the viewing trail.
I had already thought about the Output stands...bit I'm still just #ABallerOnABudget...so it was just a thought.
I ended up getting the Ultimate 90/45 (Black) and then I found a pair of the Ultimate MS-80B Acoustic Foam Pads for half the retail.
45" is a bit taller than I need, but I placed the KRK V8s on their side to get them closer to my desired height.
Thanks for your great vid and advice!
🙏🏽💯😎
BTW @Sanjay...have you done a vid on the Ultimate Support MS-80B Acoustic Foam pads?
Great video as usual. Thank you for the hard work.
The m-audio oxygen pro mini 32 is out. Any idea when you might be reviewing it? Love your work. Blessings
Soon soon!
Thank you.
You're welcome!
I’m using the polystyrene packing they came in. Going to take out and try them on my windowsill as it’s more ear level. Thinking of getting floor stands but not sure if it will increase the sound leaking into my neighbours flat below me. They sound loads better already just putting at ear level on windowsill thanks.
Thanks
Anytime!
Hi Sanjay, what’s a reasonable but safe power conditioner you’ll recommend?
I have these triangle stands from Thomann, they’re really a bit on the shaky side.
The Ultimate Support models are great but I wish they were height adjustable.
I have a pair of mackie´s CR8, which floor stand do you recommend? haven´t find one yet since they´re really big!
Thanks for this video sir. Recently I purchased Kali LP 6 monitors. I am planning to buy Bespeco PN90FL studio monitor stand for the same. Will it be a good decision? please guide.
Awesome
Thank you IJ Beats Music!
I want the Gator Desktop Stand but a smaller version for the Avantone Mixcubes
So I have the on stage 6000 ‘s and the isolators. These two together keep foreign sounds in check. All were purchased at Zzouds. Zzounds was my perfect Audio playground until they start charging this incredibly high tax for Illinois. Not much they could do, but competitors like American Music Supply don’t. Just information people. Thanks Sanjay.
Good to know....yeah, I remember a long time ago most online stores didn't add tax! The good 'ol days
I just got the gator clamp on and they are great but unfortunately way too small for my yamaha hs8 studio monitors so I have to return and doesn't seem like they make them any larger.
Hey Sanjay, what stands are you using with your Barefoots? Thanks!
I'm using the protective styrofoam that comes in the box with the monitors for some isolation on the desk. I guess its better than nothing haha.
I have the same stands you have had for a while and I found they can resonate and the pin and stuff vibrate with low frequencies. I'm debating on whether to change them or try to fix the problems I see.
Which ones do you want to get?
Build your own. Super easy
May I ask a question? I subscribed. Great stuff. Nearing tje end of rebuilding after storm took out my self build studio. The desk is designed for hidden wiring, and for lack of space slides back to one inch from back wall, little to no rooms on side. Nobody seems to have plate for 11" x 9" monitors. I would love to build something with quality based pipes that have the screw on plates for the bottom, plus hole through back corners of desk woukd be based for pipe. Then somehow fabricate or find a plate that can easily hold the monitors. I cam lean monitors with my foam. Trying to be creative here since nobody seems to have what is needed. I can send pics, just woukd appreciate your advice, (if nothing on the market, what best materials to use, converted mic stands or pipe. Especially the plate, fabricate any idea where? Thanks for thinking outside the box I hope.
how do you keep the speakers from failing off from the stands? Referring to the first two stands
Can you please help with Apple Music Spital / Atmos / Lossless Audio, more with how to properly listen to.
This review came at the right time I was looking for stands to put my FP01's on And was looking at the ultimate stands first before I looked at the super expensive options. I have them on the top shelf of my RTA studiodesk but I have to angle them down and they're sitting on ProJax. I wanted to see if sitting them flat at ear level will give me a better response. What do you think?
I like them flat. I just don't trust the angled stuff. I don't know...probably just preference.
Would all of them fit the krk rokit 5s?
I built my own stands out of pipe and fittings. Cost me 40$ for 2
Make a DIY video of it? Please? Lol
@@WazzapMate48 it's easy. there's some videos and websites that show you... black 4inch PVC pipes, a toilet flange, sand and 12x12 3/4in wood and some bolts.
@@PlottingTheDownfall thanks, I honestly shouldve thought of that when I read his comment lol

Do the small setup tour
Its coming!! :-D
Do the Gator desk clamp stands swivel left and right?
It could be a problem if my studio monitor is wider than the stand platform? I mean the monitor is going over the edges of the platform..im using yamaha hs7, is there a problem? Can the monitor fall at higher volume? I cannot find monitor stand with wider platfrom than 25x25 cm..
what's that blue/yellow box thing on the desk?
Tbh the fact that they're wobbly isn't really a problem since they are supposed to be sitting still and not be moved around. Unless you have some mad earthquakes or gigantic trucks going around I think you'll be pretty safe with a wobbly stand
Great video! I was wondering something about the stands, I live in Guatemala, here we have little earthquakes often, they are not that hard, however we have many during the day, some of them are not perceptible.
So, with that being said, are these stands something that can be used in these circumstances without fearing that the speakers are going to end on the floor?
The clamp stands (Gator) may be good because they attach to your desk.
I’m thinking of using a stone garden plinth. Seriously
mine are on my desk w/ some monitor pads
I've done a lot of research regarding studio monitor stands according to my desk size and living room space. I purchased the Gator Desk Clamps, mounted them about 2 inches off the corners of the desk and they work perfect for my situation. Putting them on my desk was not an option.
Nicely done!
Thanks for this much-needed video, Sanjay! How do you think the Gator Frameworks clamp on studio monitor stands compare to the Iso Acoustics ISO 155s? Which is better? If you would recommend one pair of desktop studio monitor stands, what would you recommend? Thank you!
Isoacoustics. But really, you can use the Gator clamp stand and put isoacoustics on that for the best results.
@@SanjayC
Great, thank you! I can only get one pair of stands, so I'll take your advice of the ISO155s. :)
Well now I want a green astroturf plant wall.
I couldn't find the video where you previously recommended the IsoAcoustics isolations and they weren't popping up in search so I wound up buying some foam isolation pads. Any experience with these thick foam pads?
The foam is better than nothing, but I didn't experience a big change in sound with them. The Isoacoustics are better.
on stage as i applying the cheapest is the best rule for now haha
That's cool!
Hi. Can't understand, how the triangle stands can be wobbly... May be you used them without pins (idk exactly how to call them)? As we know from geometry, 3 dots make only 1 flat surface - so if the stand contacts with the floor only with 3 pins, it can't be wobbly...
What are the grey and walnut speakers that you have? - they look class!
Output speakers. I reviewed them here: ua-cam.com/video/voWI0mSCxgI/v-deo.html
@@SanjayC Wow, look at that for service!
thanks mate.
I see the kali audio monitors
I guess the review is coming pretty soon😁
They are pretty good, but not blowing my mind or anything
Where did you purchase the faux green backdrop? Looks Great!!!
Thanks....Home Depot!
@@SanjayC I will be installing some of these so I no longer need to stare at a blank wall! Did you happen to notice any improvement in sound damping/reflections from having the green backdrop installed?
What is the desk you are using for this demo? I’m actually looking for a desk like this for my room.

5:50 Do the right thang ! 🎙🎥 They trash my headphones on the left so i wouldnt be able to make music for long sounding terrible AKG 371 for Studio Certified and purchased new distorted trash sounds coming out of it so i would switch to loud speakers . 🐍
I’ve had mine on floating shelves but changing to stands
I use them for better sound from monitors
Nice! What stands do you have?
