Excellent discussion of Stops, thank you! I'm known for leaving my camera settings from the last shoot, taking new photos, and being really surprised when I open them in post. Okay, you caught me, I don't distract myself by looking at the LCD display after every photo... plowing full-steam ahead is more fun. Anyway, the irony of a full video using arithmetic, calculator, and brain is awesome and very instructive watching you sneak up on the right settings. IMHO, you chose such a great method to explain this stuff unlike so many UA-camrs who keep drawing "that" triangle. Unfortunately, there is usually sky in my photos (so the need for a little underexposure), and then a cloud comes over, the light changes, I get out my calculator, the cloud passes, I get out my calculator. Listen, you did such a nice job here, the only complicated part of your video was at the end r.e. 10am-Instagram-Facebook-etc. Thank goodness I receive your emails and can just go to THE BLOG. The bottom line... this is a great video, thanks for presenting it. ⭐x5
@@ThatPhotographySpot Ah, sweet, thank you. Truth is I'm just inspired by the videographer-ess that has talent behind her videos and candidly admits, "I do a video every week... if I feel like it." Don't hear that everyday (actually, never) and it leaves me in a humorous spirit. 👍 🐶 😊 Keep away from that virus.
I've heard the phrase 'stop of light' on other tutorials without ever understanding what it meant. Thanks for explaining it so clearly. I think I've learned more from this channel in a week than I had done in the last few years. Thank you once again for taking the time to make these videos. 👍
Your channel is an absolute goldmine. I sometimes take photos at outdoor dog events (in the winter, way too hot now!) I wish I had discovered your videos sooner, so many great tips and solid advice I want to try out in the coming season!
Thank you for this! I also fairly recently switched to Sony and have been struggling with dark images. In camera it looks like the histogram is nicely centered but when I open in Lightroom everything is way left. I guess I need to adjust my thinking as to the correlation of the histogram in camera to what the image actually is in Lightroom. I shoot with a A7riii. I have learned so much from your videos. You are the best!
Thank you so much 🙏 Do you have the setting effect 'On'? It's a setting in the menu, 'Live View Display' and 'Setting Effect' and this needs to be 'On' Hope that helps 😊
I enjoy your channel a lot because your clear in your explanations and you know what you're talking about! =) Keep it up! =) My only would be if you could speak a little slower sometimes? :D
Aww thank you! You can slow the video down by clicking the little cog on the bottom and choosing a slower playback speed 🤓 I’ve tried to slow down but honestly I can’t - it’s just not me 🙈
@@ThatPhotographySpot Thank you very much, helps me a lot! :) I found your Channel last week and got so fixed to dog photography now so thank you very much! My dog is not so amused about it I think :D
I understood stops hypothetically but the example makes it gel. Awesome video. Thanks.
Best channel i found during quarantine!!
Aww thank you ☺️

Fab although I work this out in my head it was nice to see it written out 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
When I'm on the wrong side of a lens my head goes a bit mushy, sometimes its safer to write and use a calculator 😂
Watching from Australia! Love your photos and your videos. Just wish my photos could come out like yours hahaha
You can do it! Practice makes perfect (and mine, as you can see, are not perfect!)
