    I believe that you have created a wonderful channel and your art has blossomed into a true artist’s journey! I have seen quite a few artist fizzle out because they are trying to create outside of themselves. I believe that you are giving your heart and soul to this endeavor and it just shines through! You are successful because you care. I am looking forward to watching your flip through video and I am sure that the long version will out preform all other versions! Lovely picture and inspirational color work! Please take care and be safe over there!

    Hi Gem , Although I live in the suburbs now I was born and raised on a very busy city street in a multi cultural section of Boston Massachusetts. I have never seen a cow ,chicken , sheep , goats no farm animals in my life ! The only animals would be police horses or St Patrick’s Day Parade in Boston the Budweiser Clydesdale horses whom I guess originally from Scotland I just learned. Someday I would love to see a video of your farm and garden ! Your stories fascinate me because polar opposite of where I grew up and still live . I have seen lots of Atlantic Ocean sea life . I live on the coast and even been on whale watches and giant pilot whales show off for people and swim under boats ! Very thrilling once you realize they are characters full of personality and won’t hit the boat ! I have seen sharks , lobsters of course and harbor seals and manatee . Sea cows ! I love the way you talk about your cows and their names . No pressure I hope I am not being intrusive! Just curious lol

    I am going to hang out and color this page with you. A cup of coffee and here we go. I live on a farm and grew up on a farm so it is great to hear you talk about the cows. I also have llamas. I currently gave away all but two males so at least they won't reproduce like rabbits!! My family still has a family ranch in Nebraska.

    I so enjoy listening to you! Your voice has a very soothing effect on this United States NC southern girl!!! I too am going back to my older coloring books and this one definitely needs my attention. Thank you for inspiring me to start this page. I am so impressed that you have now done practically the entire book!! I look forward to seeing the video flip through of it. I, too, have had this book since the beginning of my coloring journey 5 years ago. You truly inspire with your videos and I never tire of hearing about your extended family members.

      Thank you! I never intended for this book to be a mission, but I've enjoyed it. It was actually gifted to my grandmother and she found the colouring hard on her arthritic hands, so she gave it to me. She thought it would be wonderful to see it finished, so I'm going to give it to her when I'm done. She's old (97, sharp as a tack and a wicked sense of humour) and we joke that she'll have passed on by the time I'm finished... I've told her she's got to hang on until Christmas 😁

    This is my fave kind of video from you Gem, just colouring and chatting. However if you had not made such a variety of videos your channel would not have grown so much. I cannot wait until you start to livestream. I used to join in and watch Emily Illustrator but she streams at 3am UK time which is not convenient so not watched in a while. I will def be watching when you start however long that might be. (Unless I am at work) ❤️

    I think I am about a far time zone wise as you can get. I am -8 (Pacific), but pick a time for the first one and see how well it works and then adjust for the next one. Barbara and BBarb (baby Barbara), sound adorable. I hope you can befriend them. Or at least get Agnes close to a couple of the new cows. It still seems strange to me that the cows come with the farm! Oh and for the record, most of your regular viewers don't care if you have makeup on. We like our GemGem just the way you are!

    • @TheColourCave
      @TheColourCave  3 роки тому +1

      Cows don't always come with the farm, but the people selling were retiring so selling everything - normally a potential buyer will look round and negotiate what they want in with the land (machinery, grain, straw and livestock etc) and then the rest goes to a farm sale or auction. The cows here were breeds we are used to working with, and in good shape so it made sense to keep them (less hassle) and less cost for the seller. Additionally, cattle get stressed during transport so it's in everyone's interests to stay put where possible.
      And thank you, I don't feel any pressure really to 'gussy up' for videos, but sometimes it makes me feel better if I'm a bit worse for wear! (Or covered in cow poop!)

    Aw Gem! Couple of things - your wee accent when saying grass green, it has really given me joy this afternoon! What you said about colouring patterns - oh my yes! I’ve started to gravitate more towards colouring books that the illustration actually looks like a picture of something, my last colouring book before the Kerby one was a Harry Potter one so they looked like full illustrations when finished! Also - I’m so glad that I’m not the only one who names everything! My car is called Gracie & has a really lovely story which I’ll not bore you with! It’s been nice to have you as company today, thanks for making these videos, I’m excited for if you start to stream but I can imagine it would be a challenge to keep following along with the chat and colour at the same time??

      My husband loves it when I say 'burgundy' 😂 It's very satisfying seeing a finished colouring page when it's a scene I think. I'll be okay with the chat when I'm colouring, not so sure how I'll go when painting!!

    If you do a livestream I’ll try to watch if I can. It’s difficult with 2 young puppies 🐶 it’s like having two babies 👶🏼 in the house sometimes. I’m always watching them unless they are in their playpen or crates for naps . Or we outside taking walks if the weather is presentable (even if it’s not we still need to go out, it just a much quicker outing....lol.
    If I’m in the house and I’m available I will be right there. If not, I’ll watch it after the fact. That’s exciting you’re going to be getting faster internet! Woo-hoo!!!! Take care of yourself sweetie.

    Thanks for all the great tips again! You must be so chuffed to be almost finished the whole book! • @TheColourCave
      @TheColourCave  3 роки тому

      It depends on a lot of factors, and I’d say there’s no right or wrong way. There’s no particular reason for them to be done first. I often like to see how the main part of the picture comes out before deciding on what to do with a background.

    No, I agree, don't greet every person or try to chit-chat -- that also annoys me. The only thing I can think of, though you've probably thought of it already, it seems the hostess has trouble keeping up with the chat or constantly is distracted from the task at hand by what's going on in chat. Of course, that's for the couple of live streams I attend which have massive numbers of followers, so the chat goes too fast for me to read even.

  • @JoJo-jk4jm

    I'm not a fan of live streams. I used to like watching colour and chat with Sammie then she started doing these boring live streams and the I think she did it because she loves the sound of her own voice and because dede Willingham did them. Sammies voices isn't make for live streams, her other videos were excellent but she just copied dede. She's even copied dedes laugh, it's weird. So Jem you have a lovely voice(I'm Scottish too) but I wouldn't want you to do livestreams all the time like Sammie has. Dede has the right personally for livestreaming, all Sammie talks about is that weird looking dog and all the stuff she gets sent for free....eh no talk about art and your day
