Our Ride Impression
We recently got to test the Propel on our local roads in South Wales. This bike is a huge step forward for racing cyclists, triathletes, sportive riders or those who just want to ride fast. Offering riders a lighter Aero road bike making for a perfect all-day race bike.
Lightweight Speed
The Giant Propel is now even faster than before. This Aero racing machine is built for speed when it matters most. With even more aerodynamic advantages than previous models, the Propel is also lighter making it the perfect all-day race bike. With an updated rear triangle, inspired by the TCR, the new rear stays and chain stays enable more compliance for a more comfortable ride.
Race-Winning Efficiency
The new Propel features the advanced-grade composite frameset made from high-performance materials which are put through dynamic wind-tunnel testing to optimise aerodynamic performance at every angle. Aswell as 6.3 Watts faster, this model is now lighter than previous versions for an improved stiffness to weight ratio, making this bike incredibly responsive and more comfortable over longer distances.
Easier Adjustability
All-new cable routing through the Giant Contact SL handlebar and frameset makes it easier to adjust and change your cockpit components or fine-tune your perfect riding position. The new integrated handlebar and stem, not only improve the aerodynamics of the bike but also offer a clean look.
Disc Brake Only
The frame and fork are engineered specifically for disc-brakes, including front and rear 12mm thru-axles for reliable braking performance in all weather and road conditions. This also improves the overall airflow and aerodynamics of the frame.Aero Bottle Cages
To keep hydrated, cyclists generally tend to use round water bottles. This means the Propel now features a custom engineered down tube and seat tube aerodynamic bottle cages which improve the overall airflow and minimize drag, making this bike even faster than before.
Giant Wheel System
Ensuring the bike rides fast but looks even faster, is the updated Giant WheelSystem. The Propel uses 50mm deep rims for the perfect balance between maximum aero performance and added control. As these wheels are disc brake only with thu axles, this makes for a stiffer wheelset allowing for more responsiveness and instant acceleration.
Additional Clearance
The updated frame also offers additional tyre clearance and enables riders to fit tyres up to 30mm in width which will provide a little more comfort and a smoother ride. Like all other Giant bikes, the Propel features Giants Tubeless System which means fewer punctures and less rolling resistance.
Electronic Groupset
The new Propel range is fully equipped with Electronic groupsets. This particular Advanced Pro 1 model is full equipped with wireless SRAM Rival Etap AXS 12 Speed Groupset, offering slick and consistent shifting aswell as a lovely clean look. However the specification does differ from one Propel model to the next.
Weight
This Advanced Pro 1 model weighs in at just under 8.2kg with pedals, making this bike more efficient over longer distances and hilly terrain. However, the weight will differ depending on the model of Propel you choose.

Just bought that one, Propel Advanced Pro 1. Should arrive withing couple of weeks. Really nice bike!
Given the specs it is reasonable priced in my opinion and great looking!

No rim brake. No mechanical shifting. Freedom is in peril.
give the new stuff a try, change is refreshing :)
Entry lvl comes with 105 r7000 ,however disc only :( , little bit pricey as it cost 3000£ and no carbon wheels so is not worth , better to choose second option which start around 4000£ , crazy expansive but still better option then other company .
I have previous model rim brake with slr integrated handlebars , ultegra 8000 , bought brand new for 2400£ , 4years ago , the price go mad
