  • In this video Thomas Lisboa shares details that'll make the over-under pressure guard pass work even if the other guy is much bigger than you. Check out www.grapplearts.com/bigstrong and www.grapplearts.com/bigstrong2 if you're routinely facing bigger, stronger opponents on the mats!

This is awesome because as someone at 150 pounds, virtually everyone is bigger than me

Great details. This is a hard move to do vs higher level belts

It is, but you have to keep working it. I've been pushing through Blues and even Purples with it. There are world champions that have made their career off of Over-Under Passing.

@@julianharrison9407 this. I started doing over under as a white belt and passed purple brown and even couple of black belts with the over under. I do it three different ways. I'm a purple belt now and still use it. What do you mix it with?

@@NoBody-ro3xj I switch to double under(s) and a body lock. I'm all about the pressure.

Hey Stephan, I saw an old video called: Why martial artist should do yoga. And at 1:00 did you do the 10th planet Meathook or was that something else?
    Keep up the good work
    Cheers

Thanks. Is there a way to control that leg as effectively in no gi?

I know this is super late, but going flat like a plank helps in nogi, instead of tripoding

Does this principle still apply in nogi where you don't have material to grab?

Under hook the usual leg and grip the inside hip/thigh turning it outwards, that'll work.

Is age 62 too late to get into this? I was an elite athlete and now regret not getting into martial arts much sooner.

IMO you should go for it, however keep in mind you'll be getting thrown and cranked so you may receive injuries

Im wearing- hey thanks so much for the encouragement- I think I’m going for it. I beat out 350 Millenials in a crossfit contest at age 55 so I’m quite competitive. I only hope my mind doesn’t make a promise that my body can’t fill. 😆

@@jammin6816 The nice thing about BJJ is that it is entirely possible to avoid injuries if you train smart. You are NOT going to get "thrown and cranked" unless you go to a school with complete knuckleheads. Any good instructor is going to put a stop that immediately- it is considered extremely uncool to go hard on new guys or old guys. The reality is that most BJJ people are going to work with you at your own pace and are not going to go all out. I've trained with several brand new guys over 60 and they are doing just fine.
