Its so cool that Douluo Continent was the top drama in the first quarter of 2021!!! I loved that show! They did such a great job of giving it a real world feel, with such a visceral feel between characters like Tang San and his dad at the beginning of the show. Yet it also keeps true to the fantasy and magic feel of the anime with its magic creatures and magic powers. The cgi was beautiful and not over done and applied with a deft hand. I loved the character of Tang San but also really grew to like many of the characters and will be looking forward to seeing these actors in others shows as well.

The Long Ballad is just a such a great drama and I kept getting recommended it and finally decided to watch it. I literally couldn't stop until ep 30 and watched all the trailers and clips that I found of the next episodes and more clips of previous episodes. I am looking forward to the next episodes. The next episodes are going to be pretty interesting. I like that the drama (at least to me) is not that cliche. Sure there are common cliche scenes and stuff but the overall storyline is really unique. One thing I hope happens is for the crown prince to mature, he is like that one annoying character in every drama although the Long Ballad has several but right now where I am at, he seems that most annoying. I also am loving leyan. She has had some great character development since the beginning and is very righteous and kind.

Word of Honor world of done better if was broadcast not in Youku though because it's not the top. Their concert is packed though... I will wait for them to show it free on UA-cam hopefully...
The number 1 c-drama for me is The Rebel Princess. Nothing can compare to it when it comes to cinematography, costumes, fight scenes and the acting skills of the main leads are excellent. Support roles are astounding actors as well! They deserve to sweep numerous awards! Zhou Yiwei is brilliant in this drama, love him!!👏👏👏
The Long Ballad is an engaging and interesting drama though it ended for those VIP users still for us we'll be patiently waiting for all the episodes to be available. I love the whole cast especially the main cp in this drama, Leo Wu and Dilraba slayed their role and their chemistry is quite addictive and undeniable .Although romance isn't the focus of this story but still i enjoyed their interactions.This drama had quite an amazing OST, BGM ,costume styling and a good storyline which attracted me more to watch it. So to speak TLB deserved the top spot and i hope they'll get a wider recognition for their hardwork especially Leo Wu as for me he stood out in this drama..
Hey Marcus; thanks for a great update! DC coming in at number 1 for Q1 this year was very much expected given how well it did. I was also happy to see YAMH in the top 10. Actually surprised that "Oct" made it into the top 10 tv shows this week as I dropped it yesterday after 13 episodes; just had zilch cohesion for me. I am looking forward to jumping into "The Long Ballad" finally this coming week as the 40 episodes will be subbed and that one you mentioned with one of the CQL actors I also follow with 16 episodes on IQIYI seems decent as well. "Faith Makes Great" begins its run on the 4th and I'm only going to watch the 3 episodes with ZLY, Lay Zhang, and Yibo; communist propaganda not being my thing to watch all 40 episodes. There doesn't seem to be a set schedule about what airs when yet so we just wait. But I haven't seen Dilraba in anything since last year's "Pillow Book" which I loved so I'm very much looking forward to TLB. Looks like I'm done with modern dramas for a while and am hopping back into costume 🤣. Thanks for a great update and see you on Tuesday! Hopefully will watch something new and give my feedback by then.

If it's zhao liying yang mi Reba and yang zi, it's guaranteed that dramas are legends. As of the moment the long ballad stays on top. I really love it. I'm just waiting for the golden hairpin. The top ten actors are evidently conquered by guys we only have two girls... It only means that fangirls totally dominate the market. I like actresses more than actors but I still support them. Long Ballad did not make it on top until after Rattan and You Are My Honor was finished. We are not even counting Word of Honot here. So sometimes, good story/production still has a chance of going against big actors drama

The Long Ballad is an engaging and interesting drama though it ended for those VIP users still for us we'll be patiently waiting for all the episodes to be available. I love the whole cast especially the main cp in this drama, Leo Wu and Dilraba slayed their role and their chemistry is quite addictive and undeniable .Although romance isn't the focus of this story but still i enjoyed their interactions.This drama had quite an amazing OST, BGM ,costume styling and a good storyline which attracted me more to watch it. So to speak TLB deserved the top spot and i hope they'll get a wider recognition for their hardwork especially Leo Wu as for me he stood out in this drama..
Hey Marcus; thanks for a great update! DC coming in at number 1 for Q1 this year was very much expected given how well it did. I was also happy to see YAMH in the top 10. Actually surprised that "Oct" made it into the top 10 tv shows this week as I dropped it yesterday after 13 episodes; just had zilch cohesion for me. I am looking forward to jumping into "The Long Ballad" finally this coming week as the 40 episodes will be subbed and that one you mentioned with one of the CQL actors I also follow with 16 episodes on IQIYI seems decent as well. "Faith Makes Great" begins its run on the 4th and I'm only going to watch the 3 episodes with ZLY, Lay Zhang, and Yibo; communist propaganda not being my thing to watch all 40 episodes. There doesn't seem to be a set schedule about what airs when yet so we just wait. But I haven't seen Dilraba in anything since last year's "Pillow Book" which I loved so I'm very much looking forward to TLB. Looks like I'm done with modern dramas for a while and am hopping back into costume 🤣. Thanks for a great update and see you on Tuesday! Hopefully will watch something new and give my feedback by then.

If it's zhao liying yang mi Reba and yang zi, it's guaranteed that dramas are legends. As of the moment the long ballad stays on top. I really love it. I'm just waiting for the golden hairpin. The top ten actors are evidently conquered by guys we only have two girls... It only means that fangirls totally dominate the market. I like actresses more than actors but I still support them. I support xiao zhan yang yang and zhang zehan the most.

Long Ballad did not make it on top until after Rattan and You Are My Honor was finished. We are not even counting Word of Honot here. So sometimes, good story/production still has a chance of going against big actors drama

Long Ballard was better than expected. Leo Wu is convincing as the ML and paired really well with Diliraba. Very happy with The Sword and the Brocade . Sad that Minning Town did not make it to top 20. Thank you Marcus for your fair and objective analysis.
