Is Disney's After Hours Boo Bash Worth It? | Spooky Characters, Halloween Treats & Low Crowd Levels!

- In today's vlog we head to Disney World's Magic Kingdom for the very first night of the Boo Bash Halloween After Hours Event! We start the night with early entry into the park. The party started at 9:30pm but we were able to get into the park 2 hours early at 7:30pm. We started with a look at the new Halloween merch and the Happily Ever After fireworks show before the party started. We also got a closer look at the Halloween and Fall decor around Main Street. Then the party started and we got to see the first spooky cavalcade of the night! We saw Mickey and his friends in their fun costumes. We also saw the Villains cavalcade and the Maleficent fire breathing dragon cavalcade! Then we rode the Haunted Mansion and even got to see We also got to trick or treat around the Kingdom and even got some sweet treats that were included with our ticket. We ended the night with some rides, we got on Space Mountain and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, which only had a 20 minute wait! That was probably the most exciting part of the night! We had such a great time and the low crowd levels were definitely the best part of the night. It was so nice to be able to walk around the mostly empty park. I know it's completely normal, but I have to admit that I chuckled out loud when I heard the firework announcement in the video followed by "presented by pandora jewelery". It just seems so funny to hear "here's some magical memories, brought to you by *commercial*". Lol.

@@LC-le9ew Disney is (or has been in years past) one of the top purchasers of fireworks/explosives aside from the US military. Whether that's on their own dime or on a sponsor's, or a mix of those two, I don't know. BUT, I still think it's a pretty neat fact. Besides, Disney has sponsors for pretty much everything, and pretty much always has.
that's ultimately what it's about for them is money. 🤷♀️

There’s so many vloggers out there that pretty much do the same thing, however, you go into much more detail and how you present yourself from start to finish. Whether its an edited video or a live feed….you have no idea how much you make my life better! 🖤 🎃👻💀🧡

I like to watch while I eat dinner after a long day at work - makes you feel like you’re on holiday; I have a really stressful job in healthcare and it helps me unwind.
I can’t see Piglet without thinking of Jackson in his Piglet costume last year!
The whole experience was a higher price without the three most popular entertainment experiences, BTY parades, fireworks and castle stage shows. The decreased wait times and free junk food don’t justify the cost
It may not for Florida regulars. But for out of towners like myself we can’t tell the the difference it’s just a great experience with less wait times for rides.
@@GrossFamily457 a lot of people who went to the parties knew about the fireworks and such and came from far away. I’d argue more out of town than not

Eh it's a merging of after hours and a little bit of the Halloween party. I don't much care for parades and fireworks but I love lower crowds.
And I hate to tell you. Super easy to bring those treats home.

Tim, your coverage of Boo Bash is my absolute favorite. Many of the live streams seemed stressful. You enjoy yourself without stressing on performance of filming. You were one of the few fortunate vlogers to capture Maleficent actually breathing fire. Close-ups of calvacade characters were excellent. Good summary of merchandise shown where I could actually see the item well enough to determine if I would buy it. Great video, so much fun!🎃🎃🎃

I did not know about the sprinkler systems on top of the roofs! Makes perfect sense. I found it interesting that you could hear them turn on just before the fireworks.
The most expensive Halloween event ever with parades, shows and fireworks missing. Tim, it was totally worth it .

I know they're different events, but the pricing and what you get for this event makes Halloween horror nights look soooooooooooo much better. Between stuff like this and epic universe coming, universal is looking to be the better Park between the two
I missed seeing all the little kids that use to go when it was an earlier party, plus the cost is so high for a family

It made me happy to hear the music from "Boo to You!" That's my favorite Disney parade music of all time. It wouldn't have felt right without that.

I went to 2 after hours events on my last trip and it was the absolute highlight of my trip. I went by myself so it wasn’t like I was paying for a whole family. I think the non themed ones are more worth it because it draws a lower crowd and it’s amazing having the park to yourself

It seems to me that if you want an After Hours event, then it’s totally worth it. But if you want a replacement for Not So Scary, then it’s not. I don’t think it’s awful but with all of the announcements of things like parades and fireworks that they’re making for the Christmas event, it seems like even Disney realized there’s not enough speciality offerings here to justify the price for people.
Addition: It does make me wonder though. With how low the crowds (which is awesome) are, why not just do the Villains After Hours event and add trick r treating to it? That way you could still potentially have the stage show from that as extra entertainment but 🤷♀️
Exactly... But I think some people are confusing what an After Hours event is versus a party like MNSSHP or the Oogie Boogie Bash. This After Hours event is similar to any other After Hours event they have offered previously.
@@jodinsmith1 Yup. It's fully a themed after hours. Which I love. I did Villians and will probably do this. These people are missing just how low the crowds are for these events
The even does include trick or treating it just starts later then Not So scary. Instead of being able to enter the part at 4:00pm you have to wait until 7pm and then the event itself doesn’t begin until 9 or 9:30 pm.
I really appreciate how you cut the music to avoid copyright, rather than putting canned music over suspect clips. The experience is so much better for us to watch! 😊

I spot myself in the video at 2:57! I was lucky enough to be able to meet you and it was definitely the highlight of my night! My family and I came from Oregon so we had to take the opportunity to go to a Halloween party while we could and we had a great time! It was nice to meet you!

The previous years had early entry at 4pm, and it was well worth the money! But now that we're losing out on 3 hours of park time with the 7pm entry time, I definitely wouldn't consider attending this event again.
What I dont understand is, the "Cavalcades" is just boo to you parade broken into segments that they give you the time for anyway. How is this different than just doing the parade all as one?

Originally it was done for social distancing and now it’s still being done because they haven’t brought back enough cast entertainment members.
I’m assuming they’re short staffed bc they are still SO many floats that weren’t used in this event from Boo to You
This is the best video from all the other vloggers I watched about the Boo Bash! Tim has knowledge of the workings, of the park that make the video interesting. For example, the sprinkler system used during the fireworks. I love the way he zooms in on the cavalcade, merchandise, etc. so we can really see things since we can’t be there. He made sure to show us a little of everything there was to do at the Boo Bash. In my opinion he clearly explains things as he goes. This is why I always look forward to his videos and especially videos of special events like this. Thanks for all you do to keep us informed.

I don’t think boo bash tickets are refundable . That’s what I read on the website .
@@MrsH091011 They're generally not, but I think for extenuating circumstances, Disney is a bit more lenient. And, I have heard that during this particular past year, they had been more lenient for last-minute refunds/cancellations simply because of people's fears/concerns surrounding their trip during these times.

Is it just me or does the dragon look more awesome at night with the purple lighting and with the rate of parades at boo bash looked a bit confusing you are running back and forth trying to watch them and the haunted mansion was so funny.

I was also at the first Boo Bash and completely agree with your assessment. We found the evening to be worth it. The extremely low crowd levels were incredible and made for a really fun evening when combined with the all the treats! The lack of crowds also helped us feel very safe with a kid not yet eligible to be vaccinated. On a related note, Tim, love seeing that you are wearing a mask outside. Very few people have been doing that during our week at Disney.
Tim is the best. He includes every aspect of an event and even throws in some fun facts. Shows us what we didnt know we needed to see and makes every trip fun. But we already know this. 😀

YAAAASSSS! Maleficent Dragon breathing fire! PS: Boo Bash is like a Not So Scary imposter. It looks like a party but doesn't feel like it.
I was pleasantly surprised how few people were present. I honestly thought the big guy in charge would keep adding tickets until the numbers were more like a MNSSHP. It was a great time as far as numbers!
I guess it comes down to the individual whether one feels it's worth it or not. The shorter wait times for the rides would compensate for the shorter time compared to the regular day ticket. That could save hours. And you don't need to buy food as you would during the day unless you want to, which could save money.
Finally! Someone got footage of Maleficent breathing fire. Thanks, Tim! I've watched several other vlogs from the event and none of them caught it.

I went in Sept 2019. I loved how it wasn’t crowded. It’s better to go to these parties earlier.

It's a big draw for what would normally be a non busy season. The October dates filled so they expanded to September and after years of those being busy too they pushed it back to August and it's stuck ever since. Even Universal and Busch Gardens starts Halloween in August because of the popularity.
