First of all, the purpose of fertilizing bonsai trees is not just to make them grow bigger and produce more fruits and flowers.
In terms of cultivation purposes, it's very different between gardening and bonsai.
Bonsai enthusiasts encourage keeping trees small and respect their oldness.
In this video, I would like to show you how to use fertilizer in my way.
It's probably the most common method among Japanese bonsai enthusiasts.
I think fertilizers may differ from country to country.
And it may be difficult to obtain the same fertilizer as in Japan.
I hope that you will use this video as a reference to devise your own ways.

Thank you, quite useful information 😊
I'm happy this video helps you.

@@bonsai-haruyoshi very welcome :) I have imported it myself from Japan (IBDU 4) so you’ll be glad to know it is Japanese and not Russian :)
I very much like your older small style Japanese black pine, here in the uk most importers also purchase the big thick trunk trees, while some can be nice such as maples etc I sometimes prefer the more elegant looking shohins
Thank you for your detailed explanations about IB.
I also like the old style bonsai.
@@bonsai-haruyoshi I just make some video's of a few of my trees, I am no master like you but wanted you to see how my Japanese imported trees are doing over here in Scotland, I hope you like them. Feel free to give any honest advice if I am doing bad lol
I watched your videos. Even though Scotland is colder and less sunny than Japan, your trees look in good condition.
You don't need to grow your trees the same way in Japan.
If I were you, I'd cut back the branches more after fertilizer
works well
Thank you for these good advice and opinions. Is it possible that you show some plants how they were in the beginning and now a few years later?
Thanks for your time and advices. Greeting from the Netherlands.
Thank you for your comment.
I wish I could make videos about the long-term growth process.
But it may be the most difficult.
Thank you for your quick response, it is almost time for you to go to bed and here in the Netherlands we have started the afternoon.
Good morning from Japan.
I just wake up and started working.
@@bonsai-haruyoshi Good morning from the Netherlands. The Netherlands is also awakening and we are also starting to work here. Thanks for your inspiration and yesterday I made a first attempt with Bonsai plants. Nice to be talking to someone on the other side of the world and to have contact. The internet is good for something.
The Netherlands is far north of Japan.
It seems to be much difficult to grow bonsai there. I hope you find the tree species that are good for your location.
Good luck.
Ive been told you have to pick either organic fertilizer or chemical fertilizer and not to mix them. I believe the chemical fertilizer the microbes or fungi to live to help break down the organic fertilizer.
Thank you for your comment.
I have never heard about that.
