遲D過美國真要Trader Joes走一趟
U gave me a good reason to go to Trader's Joe. Belated holiday shopping time!
During this past Christmas, we did try the white truffle potato chips. They were delicious. Trader Joes carry an eclectic line of products and their prices are competitive. At Trader Joe’s, we buy fruits, vegetables, frozen food, ice cream, flowers (for Ching Ming, etc.), snacks, dried fruits and nuts, etc. The one thing we don’t buy here is meat. Every time my wife’s Canadian cousins drive down (from the GTA), they always have to shop at Trader Joe’s. Fun fact - Trader Joe’s is oddly owned by Aldi which is a supermarket similar to Canadian New Frills.

Trader Joe's was acquired by Aldi's which is a German discount chain. Trader Joe's originated in California. In 1979 the founder of Trader Joe’s, Joe Coulombe (there really is a Joe!), sold his business to Theo Albrecht, CEO of Aldi Nord.
@@michellewu80 Yes, I am aware of the history behind Trader Joe’s. My family shop at both Trader Joe’s and ALDIs but ALDIs to a much lesser extent. The two are like polar opposites.
I love Trader Joe's. Before the pandemic I used to go 2-3x a week. Now I go maybe once a month; was there last week and I went crazy and spent like $100...got a lovely French Sparkling Rose wine in a beautiful bottle. I think I was really attracted by the bottle; hope it tastes good.

@@anitalee6084 I am living in Lynnwood WA therefore my family doing good. However, I know that Bellingham (Whatcom County) has several outage going on. The temperature is only 7 F over there these two days.
@@hiuszenoom809 wow that is so cold there. I am out on the East Coast and we had a sprinkle of snow on Xmas eve but it melted. Now it has been raining on and off.
@@michellewu80 I live in Washington for 25 years never been that cold. OMG. The snow not melt at all. Tomorrow is another negative degree again. I put heat pad on my slippers keep myself warm. I can’t make difference between -14 and -7 c. They are both under zero degrees and freezing.

Trader Joe's is famous in Japan too. It's in the travel guidebook to the US. Before the pandemic, we often saw groups of Japanese visitors shop at Trader Joe's in San Francisco. What should not buy at Trader Joe's are fresh, frozen meat and frozen seafood. The seafood is not good at all.

Trader Joe’s baby back ribs, bbq cut salmon and pork tenderloin are good. Frozen food I like are, orange chicken, cheese macaroni, hash browns slices, etc. 21 Salute spice is great on grill fish.
@@helenmak5663 Frozen shrimp and frozen fish were the problems. I had returned them three times. Then I stopped buying them. They were left at room temperature for too long during restocking.

In the store, u can always ask the staff to open the package for u to try before u buy it. If u don’t like it, they just throw it away.

@@anitalee6084 absolutely. The store also has a generous refund policy. One time I causally complained to the manager about a houseplant that died within 7 days. She quickly refunded me without a receipt nor the dead plant.
