I am a Thamizhan - my ancestors were from Korkai,old capital of the Thamizh Pandyan kingdom, with no connection to the River Kaveri, yet I could understand most of this strange language. I'm now very curious of the Kodava people and their language. I hope the river Kaveri flows again for the betterment of all her peoples. #PEACE_OUT

Thank god it is in kodava (similar to malayalam) I didnt have to look at subtitles missing the intense cinematography and could feel all those emotions in her voice completely...all those anger,helplessness,hope etc
How on earth is kodava similar to malayalam? There a tamilian is saying the same. As a kannadiga I feel the same
Kodava is a mixture of all South languages...

@@REFORESTINDIA true, nobody is pure of something but mother kaveri knows all our roots, and this must break the tamilian/kannadigas ego....kaveri always keeps us as one...
Kodagu Language is not tamizh/Kannada don't fight for this I'm future claiming this is ours because these people, language are the real roots of both of us...we must understand this...there are multiple Kannadatamizh Language similarly unnoticed...if many people came to know this, you will not say purity exists..we children of both languages are children of Kaveri too...

Actually this is reality none of politicians highlight this issues all are having nexus with sand mining n smuggling of forest...ngo like yours and common people can save Kaveri kodagu Karnataka India world
Vinay, I would give a new theory. Rather than sand mining, "water mining" is what is causing draught like condition. By this I mean that widespread open well digging and borewell digging has lowered the water table so low in most places in India and very acutely in Tamil Nadu with which I am familiar. What is your opinion?

We Indians wont realize until someone in our home will die. We can never change this situation until we stop voting for money and stop being selfish.
I am a sound professional, if u given me the permission I will translate this and release it in all indian languages I'm familiar with(with voice over and bgm)anyway as a kannadiga I could understand kodava a lil bit but I want every other Indian to see this.

REFOREST INDIA great sir,and thanks for the reply.and anyhow as the title itself says its not just about our mother Cauvery but it is relevant to every region where any river flows and anybody who drinks water so I want it to translate it to even northern languages where river gang a is so polluted so that by seeing this ppl might try to respect the mother that nourishes us and the reason for us to be alive as we speak.
The kudagu district of Karnataka where kaveri starts from was called kudamalai nadu in chola period. Very much surprising that kodava people are speaking a language slang of tamil mixed with malayalam and kannada words. The tamil base is very much visible in this language. No wonder, tamils are fighting so much for kaveri with their brothers in karnataka. kodava people, please speak with kannadigas and request them to share kaveri according to rule of law and brotherhood. you have more rights than any of us.
