There should be a dial up by the onstar buttons with full, 3/4 and off that you can press to open and shut the lift gate.

My auto start is on but the truck has never auto stopped. It’s been 1000+ miles. I don’t care for the feature but is this normal ??
Probably not. mine turns off pretty much as soon as I stop at a light
still waiting for GMC to reimburse me for getting my degree in electrical engineering just to get this truck to go down the street 😂
