Toto: Rosanna Drum Cover

Definitely the hardest song to play that I have covered. Maybe not the hardest part, but just the feel and groove essential to this song was hard to match. I didn't quite get it, but it was a noble attempt. But that's what made Jeff Porcaro so amazing. Also, the elusive kick drum on beat four. I've seen videos where Porcaro plays it and others where he does not. I got the transcription and also listened to the isolated drum track of the original recording, and it's not there. So, I tried to stay as true to the original track as possible. What an iconic drum part from a true creative genius on the kit!

Homie if you was in a band playing out every weekend and rehearsing once a week that groove would be unbreakable. For learning it for the sake of a video, brother that is as close as I could get it that's for sure. Of course I'm the kind of nut that would do takes in my home studio for two weeks until I got one perfect the whole way through. But I have what you might call an unhealthy obsession with getting stuff perfect for recordings no one is ever going to care about other than me.

Impressive, respect from NZ. I can never keep the shuffle groove going for the entire length of the song,. inevitably drop the ball after a few mins or so
