They would have been buried there...so many bodies were all over the town by the ocean that they just threw bodies into the ocean by the thousands and they got bloated and some floated back to shore and rotted but then they burned the bodies but some are believed to be buried on these grounds and those who would have ended up dead on these grounds still Roam as earthbound spirits
