. This is all about money and company politics. BTS is a music business not a therapy group or religion. RM is just following orders. At the end of the day BTS as a group is not the same anymore. My concern is about all these mentally attached and unstable fans, that worship these idols like they are GODS. this is why people should not take humans as God or Idols. The company Hybe stock nose dived 30% drop when this news came out, so the company is trying to calm the stock market shares, that's why they came out with this backtracking about them not going on Hiatus... however BTS are carefully telling their fans they are going on a break. However I think they are disbanding. kind of how you tell a kid that their pet gold fish went to heaven, So as not to break their little hearts. Jimin face tells the whole story he can't hide the sadness
I know they're not disbanding.... I'm just upset that they've been struggling so much as bts, I'm upset that they feel as though they don't know who they are anymore as bts. I'm glad they've decided to take a break before they completely lost themselves that's how I know they have matured and are growing. To put themselves first in order to help themselves to be better and happier in the future is such a hard thing to do, especially with how big they've gotten and I love them for that.

It really broke me when Joon said in the FESTA vid that he regrets his first mixtape. I love it so muchhh!!! But that also means that he has sort of figured out what direction he wants to go in with his individual work, and Mono was a masterpiece!!! So I'm so excited for whatever's to come.
When Namjoon said after PTD and BUTTER they don’t know who they were anymore is just sad. After Dynamite and getting into Grammys, I felt they were so pressured to sustain the moment and kept creating songs to appeal the mass public and be closer to getting the award while losing themselves in the process. The feeling of inauthenticity was there and he just shrugged it off because they were doing good is just telling how much he had sacrificed as a leader. It felt like the thing they loved the most (creating music) became a chore, a habit without essence. No one wants their favorite artist to feel this way. I hope the hiatus will help them refocus and create music that they truly love and speak their heart and minds out again.

@@Mkeiiii I deleted my og tweet by mistake while trying to delete the other 2 replies to the person who deleted their comments but I am still saying they didn't lose track after Butter, they lost track back in 2020 coz they didn't know what to do with the group anymore & they didn't have a message anymore to share & like Yoongi said the lyrics won't come out. So they had planned a hiatus & go for solo careers, which they probably thought was the best way to go forward, like Yoongi said if they had followed the original plan they wud hve been back as a group by time covid had ended. He blames COVID for throwing them off track where they had to change plans coz they couldn't tour. We all know for the last 3 yrs they have wanted it the most & kept on trying these 2 yrs. Which made them delay the solo activities, once everyone gets busy with solo activities, planned tours as a group can be hard, u wud hve to match 7 different schedules. Everything in between which is Dynamite or Butter is trying to sustain the group which was already not going to work out. They were trying to give the fans the last few concerts possible, and just giving few singles here there meanwhile getting heavily criticized for them. They were trying & everyone was basically bashing them. When will people realise these expectations play a huge part in leading them into a burn out ? And the one introspective album they put out was over looked. Joon saying he checked out the reactions it was unfair to them.
You are so right about them being pressured. Except he never completely shrugged it off. He has indicated his displeasure with continuing western tracks in the past. HYBE even clapped back that BTS would do what was good for the company. You could see this brewing for awhile. Notice that he even said he prefers Bangtan over BTS. That's a deeper statement than it appears.
That's what I thought. That they're basically forced to do stuff they don't want to do, like singing pop songs in English! Three of them are rappers!!! And I like how everybody who's crying forgets about the ageism that is prevalent in the industry. They know and HYBE knows the clock is ticking.
I really don't like how RM underestimated his contribution to the group. BTS would not be anywhere near as successful if it wasn't for him and his leadership.
I cried not because of the idea of them taking a break, group hiatus or doing solo work.. I cried because I felt the pain, the exhaustion they have. I lost it when Namjoonie broke down. He was worn out, he knew of the expectations from him, from the group. He started doubting his right to be there. They can't say what they really want and mean, as they needed to take into consideration the other members, Hybe and Army. I just lost it when he apologised, for trying to find himself, for thinking of taking a break, in fear of disappointing us, Army. So please, #ToBangtan, you don't have to say sorry, don't apologise. We all know that you have always given us your best. Even at times, risking your health, just to preform the best for us. We will understand if you needed rest, if u wanna take time to find your selves.. We are here. You don't need our permission and you will always have our blessing and support. We all can not physically walk next to you, but know that we are always behind, each of you, cheering you on. At least, we the 90% of the Army, are here to understand and support you guys! I was just heart broken to know that Nam Joon felt so bad about taking a break, Jimin apologising and trying to explain themselves (himself) the whole time. They did not need to feel bad or apologise about anything at all. I am just really glad too that they’re finally taking a break as a group and work towards their personal goals. In 2021 jin literally said in a weverse inteview that he and some other members didn't want to sing in english bcs it was unatural to them. But they had no say in it so they agreed. There is also a tiime where rm said that he lost his inspiration bcs of how overworked they are and how exausting and draining it is to be filming so many non music related videos like shows and ads stuff for games and all. Armys ignore everything that is against hybe as long as they are getting their "content"

Just turned 63 but I cried after watching their Festa. These boys gave their army’s so much happiness! There will be changes amongst them for sure but as a grandma army, I will love them ‘til my last breath.💜💜💜💜💜
I am 61 today. I am ARMY, in the full sense of the word. they have been my soul mates and inspiration for so long, I am not angry at all, I am sorry that they were feeling soo bad and have to sacrifice soo much. I must confess that I too, was puzzled about the course they were taking, don't take me wrong, I loved Butter, etc but I preferred ON, their previous songs, I think I understand how they were feeling about the music they were making lately , because I felt the same, I kept on listening to Bulletproof 2, No more dream , I love DangerThanx blu mix , pity, it wasn't included in PROOF. I very much wish that they can still , be happy, truly feel content with themselves and everyone of them . Their friendship and brotherhood transcends them and send waves that reach so many of us. 'Hiatus' has a negative connotation in the west because it is the word that companies use instead of disband. I mean, N*SYNC is still technically on hiatus - as are One Direction, because both groups went on hiatus and then never regathered. That's why so many people freaked at the translation, I think. But NKOTB came back in 2008 I thought that would never happen. I think it was 14 years apart doing solo work etc. So it may happen in the future. But I was a Back Street Boys fan I think that was my very first album I ever bought. Lol

Watching RM cry really broke me....to hear that they are afraid to be a disappointment was so hard and I couldn't understand how they could ever think that. This is the best thing for them to do.
For all I know, whatever path they choose, I'll always support each of them equally. They gave me the best 9 years I could've possibly had and now as they embark on a new journey, I just want to stay by their side and support them. I know that RM, JIN, SUGA, J-HOPE, JIMIN, V & JUNGKOOK will give us their best as individuals, they'll keep improving as artists and human.. so, I too wanna keep on growing up with them to a brighter future. And it's not like they're disbanding, BTS will always be BTS, whether they're doing individual work or group work. They'll come back together. You see groups like BigBang, Shinee and Super Junior took hiatus for a while and they all come back better than ever. So things is the best thing for them mentally and for the love for their work. I’m happy for them. I can’t wait for their solo projects and the day they come back together.
Big Bang have 1 song for comeback. 1 Song. Shinee hand Suyu are nowere as succesfull. Nor do they do the choreos etc. All logical and normal. Non has a world tour on their future. So... quite bleak for me.
Yes, SHINee comeback after military hiatus was stronger than ever, showing their classic complex choreography, chemistry, and synergistic harmonies, setting them up for a 2023 comeback when Taemin returns. Shawols and SHINee are looking forward to live performances when the world is a safer place. I wish the same for BTS.
I think with Black Swan they had it in their minds to do this but Covid happened and they had to change plans but Dynamite opened the doors they never expected so they had to stretch it a little longer but then their solo Instagram itself was a hint they are gonna do solo projects. It was such a sad moment when they were bawling out their eyes. I believe after few years they will come back and we all can attend their concert.
They were thinking about this and planning to put this in motion before mots7. Mots7 was supposed to be last album as group at least for awhile. They dropped hints for map of the soul tour with the WE turned upside down to ME. Chapter 1 was WE, Chapter 2 is ME and Chapter 3 will be US. They were going to go to India and Australia and Spain. It was going to be their biggest tour ever but covid derailed it. They didn't want to break the news to fans during COVID with everyone going through a hard time so they decided to do something they never did before. singles and english singles at that. I think emotions were at a high because they were afraid to disappoint fans regarding group music and promo but they have said multiple times in the video and JK on live and Namjoon on weverse they are NOT disbanding and they are still doing projects as a group just focusing more on solo endeavors right now.
It’s a nice thought, but they will change a lot in a few years. Military service, entering their 30s, hopefully getting to be public about adult relationships they’re already having, maybe even having a little bit of privacy finally. Deciding their schedules and not having to defer to 6 other people, getting to make something exactly how they want alone is probably extremely appealing to some. Why give all that up? I just can’t see someone who goes through all that and then pursues solo endeavors coming back together afterwards aside from the vague reunion song. It would be giving up a LOT of freedom and time. I’m really bummed about it, but I don’t think they will reunite and give us much more as BTS together. Looking through the PROOF books felt final. The chapter on BTS is shut 😔
@@janicejurado1912 I think it’s a natural progression of growing up. Their being friends and brothers forever is much different from being coworkers. Their personalities have always varied and still meshed beautifully, but a bit of free time reveals a lot about oneself. I just don’t think 7 men can go through military service and extended time apart and come back as the same BTS, with the same shared goals. People SHOULD grow, I’m hoping they do and are all happy with where they end up. I just can’t see a future, let’s say 5 years, when the group is 29-34 and they decide they have the same shared goal again. Heck, some could have wives, some could be established actors, some could love living apart and never see going back, some could decide they preferred a life of being behind the scenes in the music industry, some might be happy out of the industry. There won’t be another moment in time like the last 9 years.
@@wednesday1899 You nailed it. There's no more BTS. I'll never see them live. Not even a virtual concert. Let's say there's a window between millitary service in 3 years. RM is enlisted by then but you have 6 members. Jin is not going to dance Black Swan at 34. Or Suga. He already joked about it on the video. And if any of them have kids, someting logical, they are not going to spend a year away for a world tour. Basically our musical dads have gotten a divorce but we are deluding ourselves thinking that nothing will change because we will have more "presents" at Xmas. Of course I wish them the best. Of course. But I just lost my favourite group and I never got a fighting chance to see them live. And I'm not ok.
@@elscullens I take some solace in that we will probably have smaller reunion things in the future, and maybe some will work with each other again. But BTS with 4, or 5, or even 6 members would still never be our BTS now. I am excited to see what they will all create in the future and am happy for them on some level that they get to go experience new things and have more freedom. It does still sting that there is so much we could have had, but didn’t get. I just hope they are happy, loved, and personally fulfilled in the future. 🥲
Between school, and work, and the pandemic, i burnt out. I can’t even tell you how hard it was to take 4 months off work to recover. I respect all members of BTS, am grateful for the music, and look forward.
Our boys need to experience life, love, and heartbreak in order to write music! Music doesn’t come from nothing! It comes from the heart! It comes from life experiences! This is a time to strive! Way to go BTS we want to see you stronger and better then ever!
Along with what Anna was saying, to me, it was a noticeable difference between what was happening with BTS while it was just BH vs what has been happening since it’s been Hybe. The over abundance of merch, endorsements, interviews, & politics being pushed. The games, webtoons, collars, etc. It was like, Hybe stopped letting them be the musicians that literally built them, & started making them act like a typical idol group. As for their solo time, I’m happy for them. They’ve been making little remarks for a cpl years now, hinting at wanting to have relationships, explore places, chill with friends, work on other things. They are ppl too, & need to be allowed to figure out who they are as individuals outside of being BTS. I’m also excited tho. All the bits of solo content we’ve got up til now has been great. Can u imagine how fire it’ll be now that they don’t have a million other things distracting them? I say, let our boys shine however they want!
I agree. Everything became merch after hybe. The boys were only doing their duty and not having fun anymore. Jimim was obviously unconfortable in LA. I love Namjoon drunk, suffering, crying and being utterly honest. I preffer a sad situation than a lie or fake smile. I'm glad. Also, many people were using them with "first reactions" just to get some likes, or making them engage in politics, even foreing politics, just to get a ride on their popularity. I'm really happy for you boys. We will survive.
The first thing I immediately felt was relief. I'm not sure why the panic was associated with the term hiatus but I never thought BTS would even want to disband, this was clear in the emotional MAMA speech and they made the decision to stay. From what I've perceived over the long years, they have hustled absolutely non stop and even now I can't comprehend how they did it. That sort of nature is wired for machines, and they're human. From a personal experience, it made me severely depressed and I had to remove myself from the situation once the problem was realized after 4 years. I was worried that would happen to them, or maybe even experienced it but never openly showed it to the fans. When you're constantly watched by millions, and surrounded yourself with the same people doing the same thing, the thoughts that could only be born in solitude is erased. We always see BTS as a group of 7 people, but who are these individuals when the name BTS isn't tied to them? Being in BTS shouldn't be their only identity or who they are known for. There's no confirmation of this, but I wouldn't be surprised if they're struggling to see themselves and unintentionally doing this through the public/fans' eye (3rd person perspective), and at this stage it's not that a break is wanted, but needed. They don't need reasons to justify it, or even to tell us at all.
I love how laidback David is in this whole situation, just like everybody should. Just wait for what they got to show us, let's not panic. They said they want BTS to last long, Suga said several times talking about BTS's future "when we gonna perform in 20 years...", and they literally said they are with us forever. But for that to happen there needs to be a change. Everything will change eventually, it is just a matter of time. If they would continue in this kind of style they had for the past years, they wouldn't last forever. They would get so exhausted and they would lose everything they build. I saw a post saying making this decision now, when they are at their peak shows a lot of their true personality and sincerity they have towards their art and fans. It is not that they couldn't do it, they could force it but they decided not to. They decided to find their way again for a better future. I was actually so happy when they said the second chapter is their solo work and finding their selves, happiness, and living life. I can't wait to see what all 7 of them got to show us. What made me sad and later angry was how they were afraid to tell us and thought we would be disappointed. BTS showed us purple which was beautiful and we can still enjoy it and learn from it. Now it is time for all 7 of them to show us the rest of the rainbow. And when they are ready we can go back to purple and continue the journey till the end.
It was sad but cathartic to see RM be a bit honest about how difficult recent years were for them. It was obvious that something was off. Hopefully they come stronger after this hiatus. I am really looking forward to see their individual colors .

Whole heartedly agree!! We as “ordinary “ people who aren’t celebrities have phases of life we go through, house change, family growth, job change, etc. too. Why aren’t they allowed to explore those aspects too? And all that at such young ages and much later in life than most people do. Those who truly respect and love them as artists realize that they’re humans and have the right to do what’s best for themselves too. I mean the fact that they’re hurting and feeling guilty at just the thought of making ARMYs feel “bad” speaks volumes! They spent most of their adolescence working nonstop, not really having the time to figure out who they are as individuals, as they’ve always been together. Being on their own is a whole other challenge. It’s not going to be easy for them, even if they can keep themselves busy for whatever timeframe they’re taking. It’s hard enough for regular people to do this and that and move on in life without having some regret, and if I’m not mistaken that’s also part of what they’re not wanting to do. They’ve been this nonstop_ since the beginning, having ridiculously small amounts of breaks bc they’ve felt this need to keep going regardless of what they’ve been feeling. They deserve this!! They deserve time to figure out whatever, to try new hobbies, to experience life and what it comes with, find out who they’ve become at this stage in their lives! So few of us (people) get such opportunities to have time to do so….. so I truly hope that they do!! I, as many true ARMYs, will support each of them no matter what they decide to pursue in and out of BTS. They will always be BTS… nothing is going to change that… and BTS & ARMYs will always be forever together!!! **Sending lots of love and support to our 7 boys**
exactly. I am in a phase right now when I don't really know who I am, what I want to do with my life and I've been working on myself for the past 8 months. Imagine going through this struggle and not be able to take some time of to just figure out who you are. You know you are BTS, you know you are part of this magnificent group but at the end of the day when we go to bed we are all alone in the world and the same goes for them. When you lay in bed all by yourself and think about who you are, what you want, what your dreams are and KNOW that you cannot pursue them because your life is not exactly yours it must be devastating. Imagine having all the resources in the world also to be able to figure out what you like ( try new hobbies, for ex ), to travel, spend time with your family etc and not being able to do that either. Idk man, they deserve time, space, respect, love, support and everything good in the world ( from ARMY included ) just because they've spent the last decade of their lives working constantly to make other people happy.

I think all is due to the military enlistment. I couldn't finish watching, I broke down in tears. Their announcement was bitter sweet for me, they saying they will do BTS RUN was such a release for me. And to know they are not disbanding is enough for me. At list we getting 7 album. They really care about us, they're attached to us as we are to them.

What ever David said about Jimin always thinking about ARMY, it is so true.... Whenever members are given time to speak, he has never spoken about himself, he is always talking about making ARMY's happy, him getting better, not doing enough stuff like that. How burdening it can be in his mind sometimes, just imagining that makes me feel sad.

when Yet to come first came out, i was like "I'll see it when I see it" as I've disengaged from them for a while now as to me, it was obvious what they were dealing with. I work in the creative field and interact with the tech field and everyone goes through that 'fork in the road' of what path they should follow (the art/passion or being a 'responsible adult' aka think of the business first) so when I heard they're refocusing and going back to their roots... well I couldn't sleep because of how happy I am that they are moving forward. If this happens to be the official end of BTS as a brand, I'm glad it ended up as a high note and I know the guys will continue to make new projects solo, sub groups or even another version of "BTS" brand. I'm just so happy that they are finally getting out what really felt like a small box that was getting smaller and cramped. I can listen to their music again with out that cloud of worry I've started to have in the past year and half. there's not an ouch of bitter sweetness for me, its full on glee :) They're getting to finally breath again! to be who they want to be/become again and that is why I followed them in the first place.
I haven't even watched the festa, but when I saw articles about the "hiatus," I had no worries whatsoever. I felt happy for them and know that this is very much needed for them to grow, not just as artists, but as regular human beings.
JHope first cry might because of yawning, Jimin's cry was expected, but Namjoon and Yoongi cry really broke my heart. Then everyone cried. Really, they dont even need to sorry. I am happy for them to pursuit their own career and happiness. As Yoongi said, they are not disbanding at all.
i want to add that BTS doing solo activities is nothing like other groups going on hiatus. everyone is taking one direction as an example but the truth is they are nothing like that simply because they will all be under the same company, at least for the next two years. one direction all changed labels. bts's bond is way different because they went through all bad stuff together while other groups rose to fame quickly and lastly but definitely non least, BTS have army. we'll always be there for each other and as RM once said, we keep them grounded not like other artists who are absorbed by their fame

The thing is the translation was wrong yoongi didn't say hiatus the translator did which if you kow groups that is basically code for breaking up. Hybe within an hour had come out and said there is no hiatus they are simply going to work on their solo projects.

Thank you for your honest feelings and thoughts. I'm 62 years old. At first I liked Seo Taiji then, BTS. I respect the choice they made. They need to discover their identity. Like they said; they lived together for such a long time and they discovered now they are living on their own that each one of them have decorated their houses so different from each other. To me it is important that they are happy, healthy. Also my wish for them is to always be friends and that they will support one another. They mean a lot to me because, their music/lyrics etc helped me through difficult times. BTS and another group Nightwish are my positive medicine. Funny thing is that both fandoms are called Army. They both make meaningfull and good music. I don't have a bias. I like RM Suga JHope Jin Jungkook V Jimin equally. I'll keep on supporting all Seven with what they are going to do. I will also keep on supporting ARMY projects to help people etc in need. That's BTS'S legacy. I hope that they will come back as the Seven from BTS. It's like the quote "distance makes the heart grow fonder," so this separation will help the guy's find what makes them happy and come back as 1 with more passion and love for each other. It's like that in any relationship like my hubby and I we live together for 20 years and we just got in a rut. We were just going thru the motions. But, when he decided to get his own bedroom in our house. We would not see each other even in the same house but, thru out the week one of us would visit the other for movie times or dinner like a date. It helped us regain that love and passion we have for each other. This way we can be better parents as well to our children. They see that we are happier and not arguing over the small stuff like buying the wrong tomato sauce lol. It's healthy to have space and a place u can be alone. I hope the guys come out of this stronger and livelier than before which they stated that they will have many more new stories/adventures to tell each other as well as their fans thru music.

I really love how David is so down to earth, so "Suga" like minded, I really admire that, he sticks to the real information (as even Jimin asked us) instead of making theories, predictions and all that energy draining stuff that lead us to nowhere. I am very sad, but relieved about them taking a rest. Because I have been feeling their needs for one for awhile now. I am sad because I am only an ARMY only since Nov 2020. But I want them to last a long time too and this is the only way. Yes people will still be here when they come back whenever they come back together. And no the “hype” won’t come down because there is no “hype”. They have changed the landscape of pop and of music in general to some extent. At this point, they are legendary. That type of capital is eternal. The only thing that can change their dynamic, for the better or worse, is if they found partners, and IF they allow that to influence things. Queen and The Rolling Stones have fans from the 1970s. Coldplay has fans from the 1990s (Me!). So I don’t see why people can’t be fans of BTS for the next hundred years. The only difference I suppose is that those previous western groups aren’t working for companies, but companies work for them. I foresee them creating a company together. With Bang PD’s support, mentorship, and maybe involvement. So they can exist separate from the shareholder demands of a company like HYBE. Danny should not play the stock market. You will never make money freaking out like that. The only way to make money in the stock market is buying when everyone is selling. And most importantly, selling, when everyone else is buying. From what he said publicly on this channel, Danny sells when everyone sells and buys when everyone buy. It takes nerves of steel to have a staring contest with the market, which is the only way to make money in it.
RM clearly said that their Chapter One was supposed to come to an end after MOTS 7 and their big world tour. So no it's not all HYBE that everyone loves to criticise. It's the COVID that screwed up all their plans.

Like David, I’m really happy for them. They deserve this time. They’ve always told their fans to live their truth, and it’s time they got to do that as well. My biggest concern was their extreme sadness at the announcement. It makes me feel so sad that they’ve been this stressed and overworked for so long. They just give so much. Thank you for doing this. I feel a little more reassured. I'm older ARMY (57) and relatively new ARMY. When my oldest son moved out of the home last year it was heartbreaking (I didn't let him know that) but I knew it was time for him to fly and find himself. I let him have his space, to become an adult with his own thoughts and likes and activities. These young men need to find themselves, become individuals, adults if you will. They will come back stronger than ever with new, mature experiences to sing about. I will miss them as a group, cheer them on in their solo careers and look forward to the comeback. I want to know why certain ARMYS feel that BTS owes them their lives! Honestly - they're human! The first time in 10 years they had a break was last year, when they had month off. They've worked so damn hard to bring us joy, why are those people turning on them in their hour of need? I'm ashamed of those selfish ARMYs.

As an Army for over 7 years. Tbh I kind of felt the change since “Butter” it felt like Hybe’s work than BTS… I was waiting for that passion they had for making music again. But because of them I learned so much about South Korean culture, and music. Because of them I became a Carat as well. When I saw the BTS Festa is was almost refreshing and relieving that they opened up to us because I realized they had the same feeling, and that they NEVER changed. I thought I just graduated from my BTS phase but it was truly because they didn’t feel as passionate at the time… I am really looking forward to them now🥰
I'm the same boat as army for 6 years, this just confirms my suspicions and feelings about the music they've been releasing these last 2 years. I had already kind of "graduated" from them so I'm not that sad, I was kind of expecting something like this honestly. It all makes sense now and I'm really glad they're being so honest about it. Honestly wish they never released those English tracks.
Personally I like Dynamite a lot. But the magic was kinda gone for me when BigHit became Hybe and the intro changed and then they released Butter and PTD and we were waiting for an album that didn't come while they were shooting & promoting all kinds of stuff instead of resting a lot more. I still remember how awkward those promo interviews for Butter were and how done Namjoon was answering the same questions over and over again ...
The problems are w HYBE’s sr. executive staff, suits, who probably get paid multi million dollar salary that our boys had to work to death to earn. They are sitting behind their desk in his fancy office, and doing what! This is why Jimin said "please take our words for exactly how we say it". People are already over analysing things and making deductions. When they said they felt lost and wasn't sure about the direction,it immediately is being translated to "Oh they hated Butter & PTD" , bruh they themselves said that they loved those particular songs, they were vocally excited for PTD more than for Butter. They just said that making only songs of that sound is not the direction they want to be headed to, I am sure all the judgement didn't help either. They did things together while wondering "Can I do this on my own too? Am I adding value to the group or am I dragging them down a bit? I want to do this at this age but is it right for all of us?" They're just going through life stages as anyone would, not everything needs to be made into a debate (OOO they're exhausted because Hybe made them do this, Chakho sucks, NFT blah blah) by people who basically made a career out of making assumptions. Let them live and grow 🙄
Whole heartedly agree!! We as “ordinary “ people who aren’t celebrities have phases of life we go through, house change, family growth, job change, etc. too. Why aren’t they allowed to explore those aspects too? And all that at such young ages and much later in life than most people do. Those who truly respect and love them as artists realize that they’re humans and have the right to do what’s best for themselves too. I mean the fact that they’re hurting and feeling guilty at just the thought of making ARMYs feel “bad” speaks volumes! They spent most of their adolescence working nonstop, not really having the time to figure out who they are as individuals, as they’ve always been together. Being on their own is a whole other challenge. It’s not going to be easy for them, even if they can keep themselves busy for whatever timeframe they’re taking. It’s hard enough for regular people to do this and that and move on in life without having some regret, and if I’m not mistaken that’s also part of what they’re not wanting to do. They’ve been this nonstop_ since the beginning, having ridiculously small amounts of breaks bc they’ve felt this need to keep going regardless of what they’ve been feeling. They deserve this!! They deserve time to figure out whatever, to try new hobbies, to experience life and what it comes with, find out who they’ve become at this stage in their lives! So few of us (people) get such opportunities to have time to do so….. so I truly hope that they do!! I, as many true ARMYs, will support each of them no matter what they decide to pursue in and out of BTS. You're a delusional army I'm sure. Yes they are not able to create any song as a group anymore. Yes PTD and BUTTER did not feel like BTS. Yes they are moving on from the group they used to be. They wanted to bring solos out since 2020 but they were expecting greater rewards which they did not receive. So get perspective that's all I can say.

They are definitely going to work on individual music and that was very clear from the festa. They aren't disbanding is what Yoongi mentioned specifically, also Jimin said that we should just take it LITERALLY as they said so I think yes all the concern was natural and yes it was a sad day but Bangtan aren't going nowhere, they are here so I am relieved. Also I am so so proud of Namjoonie for speaking up.
All I want is for BTS to be happy. If this new chapter makes them happy then I’m happy for them. I wish BTS knew that Army has no expectation and don’t wish for BTS to feel any type of pressure. I’ve been an Army for 8 years and though the BTS festa got me teary eyed I am still forever grateful and ecstatic to be a part of their lives. I will continue to walk the same path as BTS and support them no matter what!
Honestly, the decision they have chosen and the way they have informed us about it in itself is the epitome of why I became an ARMY. Am a rather young ARMY (late teen), going through a mental low/slump/exhaustion at what you could say my 'peek' (not in terms of success but so much of my future could change based on what I do with my life now). Continously pushing back the idea of healing myself from all the things that have brought pain in the past years to run along with student life and responsibilities....seeing them finally express and openly accept what they have been through was so overwhelming and made me think about myself too. Known them for long and enjoyed to their bangers as a child but it has only been in the recent few years that I dwelved into this whirlpool of understanding the essence od their work, to finally find comfort in a constant sense of stuffiness. And as for them coming back as a group Internet/social media will shape a lot of things. Their solo careers and its success will surely be compared. An thats not necessarily a negative thing unless it goes to disrespectful levels by disregarding them. But that is bound to happen with the very prevalent stan culture and the chances of SOME solo stans trying to create a crack within the group. But neverthless, as long as each of them remain true to themselves, sincere like what BTS always stood for, no matter what haters/antis or anyone says, there will still be enough who genuinely see through all that. President NamJoon is crying when he says "rules of the world" which tells me how much the BS nonsense of other people's expectations, criticisms, and pressure has confined his personal spirit too long so he cannot take it anymore. Even a machine breaks down, and he is a human heart. RM is very hardworking, stoic, a true leader so he does not give up. A true Warrior who will lead the ARMY and die for the ARMY. It pains my heart deeply to see RM so affected that he could not keep the tears from flowing. He must have been suffering for such a long time. All of them put on a happy face because BTS always sayd, They exist to make ARMY Happy with Positive Energy. Now, we should repay BTS kindness. We should put on a HAPPY face and be happy for them. i know Jin said he isn't pressed to do acting and feels like he's already lived so much life and done so many different things he wanted to do through acting through his idol life, but honestly I really think Jin is a natural actor. He has the acting talent. He's like what Ahn Hyo Seop wants to be in his dreams. This is no shade to AHS, but when I think of Jin acting his face shape is sort of similar to AHS, but I feel like Jin is more compelling as an actor. He has presence.

Also they were constantly saying that when they weren't working they didn't really have nothing to do, feeling lost... They literally live for their work and not having their personal time for so long must have been frustrating, reaching a point where, when they had that free time they realized that they don't know themselves anymore and are not able to create. I'm definitely happy, because I've always wondered if their mental health is well cause of those comments and lyrics. Glad they're taking care of themselves in order to find their purpose again and give us the best era that is yet to come.
I’m so glad BTS finally said their honest feelings and are taking this break. On the outside looking in (meaning I’m not an Army) they seemed so tired. Like kpop groups normally take breaks and do solo activities like vacation, or solo music, or acting, variety shows, but BTS has been working since debut basically. They got so popular in Korea and then it feels like all over the world and they have been moving non stop. They also have seemed different on television and what not even they’re music to me wasn’t as impactful because it was to please a global audience it didn’t have the same impact they didn’t feel all in it either. I’m so glad they are finally getting a break to be themselves not just BTS. I hope they all get to spend time with their families and pick up hobbies. I even hope some of them decide to do a few variety shows in Korea. I look forward to their continued growth as artists both individually and as a group.
I took it a little more further than I probably should. I was way too emotional. I took it as if they were going to do their own thing then eventually disband later. Yes they said they are not disbanding, but it scares me to think they will enjoy their solo found lives and may no longer want to get back together. They’ve been through so much pain as well. I’m sooooo upset that there won’t be a world tour as well. I’m so sad. But their happiness and soul searching is much more important than me going to a world tour. My first reaction was sad. Teared up during the Festa then thought about it retrospectively, If they had just announced they were slowing things up and releasing solo work I would have felt alright let them take their break but them speaking up so candidly and sincerely about their struggles moved me to tears and I was feeling so low. I was scared in a way that bts had such an effect on me. Because they are bts and because they did it the way they did made me cry but actually its not that sad at all.
Yeah, I felt similar. I wanna care less to suffer less. But for some reason I'm so emotionally attached to them that I always feel the urge to be informed about what they do and then I either feel good or kinda bad about it. This time I was sad at first but also glad that we now know what is going on and what we can expect in the near future. Even if you're in a friend-group, it can holding you back from individual growing, from taking different perspectives & building personal views. & like RM said, there is no time for that specially as an idol. Now, I am very glad to hear that they gonna take time, to grow in their own ways, with their own projects. I cried with them cause I could feel how hard it was for them to talk about it. Imagine how long they had to keep it back. As an OT7 army, I'm looking forward to everything they gonna make, as being themselves, finding themselves, finding happiness & purpose in life at all. I think the peak was when bang pd stepped down as CEO and privatise big hit and secured BTS. Those are my thoughts, I will be forever grateful to BTS and I hope they'll be happier moving forward.

I have never felt disappointed or angry at all. Actually, I'm so proud of them and thankful to them. Because of them I want to live my more happier and try harder for myself and family. While they're focusing on their solo work, I'll also be focusing on my career and personal growth. One day when they comeback as One, we will all be stronger than ever. . This is all about money and company politics. BTS is a music business not a therapy group or religion. RM is just following orders. At the end of the day BTS as a group is not the same anymore. My concern is about all these mentally attached and unstable fans, that worship these idols like they are GODS. this is why people should not take humans as God or Idols. The company Hybe stock nose dived 30% drop when this news came out, so the company is trying to calm the stock market shares, that's why they came out with this backtracking about them not going on Hiatus... however BTS are carefully telling their fans they are going on a break. However I think they are disbanding. kind of how you tell a kid that their pet gold fish went to heaven, So as not to break their little hearts. I know they're not disbanding.... I'm just upset that they've been struggling so much as bts, I'm upset that they feel as though they don't know who they are anymore as bts. I'm glad they've decided to take a break before they completely lost themselves that's how I know they have matured and are growing. To put themselves first in order to help themselves to be better and happier in the future is such a hard thing to do, especially with how big they've gotten and I love them for that.

When Namjoon said after PTD and BUTTER they don’t know who they were anymore is just sad. After Dynamite and getting into Grammys, I felt they were so pressured to sustain the moment and kept creating songs to appeal the mass public and be closer to getting the award while losing themselves in the process. The feeling of inauthenticity was there and he just shrugged it off because they were doing good is just telling how much he had sacrificed as a leader. It felt like the thing they loved the most (creating music) became a chore, a habit without essence. No one wants their favorite artist to feel this way. I hope the hiatus will help them refocus and create music that they truly love and speak their heart and minds out again.

@@Mkeiiii I deleted my og tweet by mistake while trying to delete the other 2 replies to the person who deleted their comments but I am still saying they didn't lose track after Butter, they lost track back in 2020 coz they didn't know what to do with the group anymore & they didn't have a message anymore to share & like Yoongi said the lyrics won't come out. So they had planned a hiatus & go for solo careers, which they probably thought was the best way to go forward, like Yoongi said if they had followed the original plan they wud hve been back as a group by time covid had ended.
He blames COVID for throwing them off track where they had to change plans coz they couldn't tour. We all know for the last 3 yrs they have wanted it the most & kept on trying these 2 yrs. Which made them delay the solo activities, once everyone gets busy with solo activities, planned tours as a group can be hard, u wud hve to match 7 different schedules.
Everything in between which is Dynamite or Butter is trying to sustain the group which was already not going to work out. They were trying to give the fans the last few concerts possible, and just giving few singles here there meanwhile getting heavily criticized for them. They were trying & everyone was basically bashing them.
When will people realise these expectations play a huge part in leading them into a burn out ?
And the one introspective album they put out was over looked.

You are so right about them being pressured. Except he never completely shrugged it off. He has indicated his displeasure with continuing western tracks in the past. HYBE even clapped back that BTS would do what was good for the company. You could see this brewing for awhile. Notice that he even said he prefers Bangtan over BTS. That's a deeper statement than it appears.
That's what I thought. That they're basically forced to do stuff they don't want to do, like singing pop songs in English! Three of them are rappers!!! And I like how everybody who's crying forgets about the ageism that is prevalent in the industry. They know and HYBE knows the clock is ticking.

I cried because I felt the pain, the exhaustion they have. I lost it when Namjoonie broke down. He was worn out, he knew of the expectations from him, from the group. He started doubting his right to be there. They can't say what they really want and mean, as they needed to take into consideration the other members, Hybe and Army. I just lost it when he apologised, for trying to find himself, for thinking of taking a break, in fear of disappointing us, Army.
So please, #ToBangtan, you don't have to say sorry, don't apologise. We all know that you have always given us your best. Even at times, risking your health, just to preform the best for us. We will understand if you needed rest, if u wanna take time to find your selves.. We are here. You don't need our permission and you will always have our blessing and support.
We all can not physically walk next to you, but know that we are always behind, each of you, cheering you on. At least, we the 90% of the Army, are here to understand and support you guys! I was just heart broken to know that Nam Joon felt so bad about taking a break, Jimin apologising and trying to explain themselves (himself) the whole time. In 2021 jin literally said in a weverse inteview that he and some other members didn't want to sing in english bcs it was unatural to them. But they had no say in it so they agreed. 'Hiatus' has a negative connotation in the west because it is the word that companies use instead of disband. I mean, N*SYNC is still technically on hiatus - as are One Direction, because both groups went on hiatus and then never regathered. That's why so many people freaked at the translation, I think. Watching RM cry really broke me....to hear that they are afraid to be a disappointment was so hard and I couldn't understand how they could ever think that. This is the best thing for them to do.
For all I know, whatever path they choose, I'll always support each of them equally. They gave me the best 9 years I could've possibly had and now as they embark on a new journey, I just want to stay by their side and support them.
I know that RM, JIN, SUGA, J-HOPE, JIMIN, V & JUNGKOOK will give us their best as individuals, they'll keep improving as artists and human.. so, I too wanna keep on growing up with them to a brighter future.
And it's not like they're disbanding, BTS will always be BTS, whether they're doing individual work or group work. They'll come back together. But till then, I just wanna say, I love them as artists and I'll keep on supporting them.

You see groups like BigBang, Shinee and Super Junior took hiatus for a while and they all come back better than ever. So things is the best thing for them mentally and for the love for their work. I’m happy for them. I can’t wait for their solo projects and the day they come back together.

Shinee hand Suyu are nowere as succesfull. Nor do they do the choreos etc. All logical and normal. Non has a world tour on their future. So... quite bleak for me.
Yes, SHINee comeback after military hiatus was stronger than ever, showing their classic complex choreography, chemistry, and synergistic harmonies, setting them up for a 2023 comeback when Taemin returns. Shawols and SHINee are looking forward to live performances when the world is a safer place. I wish the same for BTS.
I think with Black Swan they had it in their minds to do this but Covid happened and they had to change plans but Dynamite opened the doors they never expected so they had to stretch it a little longer but then their solo Instagram itself was a hint they are gonna do solo projects. It was such a sad moment when they were bawling out their eyes. I believe after few years they will come back and we all can attend their concert.
They were thinking about this and planning to put this in motion before mots7. Mots7 was supposed to be last album as group at least for awhile. They dropped hints for map of the soul tour with the WE turned upside down to ME. Chapter 1 was WE, Chapter 2 is ME and Chapter 3 will be US. They were going to go to India and Australia and Spain. It was going to be their biggest tour ever but covid derailed it. They didn't want to break the news to fans during COVID with everyone going through a hard time so they decided to do something they never did before. singles and english singles at that. I think emotions were at a high because they were afraid to disappoint fans regarding group music and promo but they have said multiple times in the video and JK on live and Namjoon on weverse they are NOT disbanding and they are still doing projects as a group just focusing more on solo endeavors right now.
It’s a nice thought, but they will change a lot in a few years. Military service, entering their 30s, hopefully getting to be public about adult relationships they’re already having, maybe even having a little bit of privacy finally. Deciding their schedules and not having to defer to 6 other people, getting to make something exactly how they want alone is probably extremely appealing to some. Why give all that up?
I just can’t see someone who goes through all that and then pursues solo endeavors coming back together afterwards aside from the vague reunion song. It would be giving up a LOT of freedom and time. I’m really bummed about it, but I don’t think they will reunite and give us much more as BTS together.

@@janicejurado1912 I think it’s a natural progression of growing up. Their being friends and brothers forever is much different from being coworkers. Their personalities have always varied and still meshed beautifully, but a bit of free time reveals a lot about oneself. I just don’t think 7 men can go through military service and extended time apart and come back as the same BTS, with the same shared goals.
People SHOULD grow, I’m hoping they do and are all happy with where they end up. I just can’t see a future, let’s say 5 years, when the group is 29-34 and they decide they have the same shared goal again. Heck, some could have wives, some could be established actors, some could love living apart and never see going back, some could decide they preferred a life of being behind the scenes in the music industry, some might be happy out of the industry. There won’t be another moment in time like the last 9 years.

@@elscullens I take some solace in that we will probably have smaller reunion things in the future, and maybe some will work with each other again. But BTS with 4, or 5, or even 6 members would still never be our BTS now. I am excited to see what they will all create in the future and am happy for them on some level that they get to go experience new things and have more freedom. It does still sting that there is so much we could have had, but didn’t get. I just hope they are happy, loved, and personally fulfilled in the future. 🥲

Between school, and work, and the pandemic, i burnt out. I can’t even tell you how hard it was to take 4 months off work to recover. I respect all members of BTS, am grateful for the music, and look forward.

Along with what Anna was saying, to me, it was a noticeable difference between what was happening with BTS while it was just BH vs what has been happening since it’s been Hybe. The over abundance of merch, endorsements, interviews, & politics being pushed. The games, webtoons, collars, etc. It was like, Hybe stopped letting them be the musicians that literally built them, & started making them act like a typical idol group.
As for their solo time, I’m happy for them. They’ve been making little remarks for a cpl years now, hinting at wanting to have relationships, explore places, chill with friends, work on other things. They are ppl too, & need to be allowed to figure out who they are as individuals outside of being BTS. I’m also excited tho. All the bits of solo content we’ve got up til now has been great. Can u imagine how fire it’ll be now that they don’t have a million other things distracting them? I say, let our boys shine however they want!

I agree. Everything became merch after hybe. The boys were only doing their duty and not having fun anymore. Jimim was obviously unconfortable in LA. I love Namjoon drunk, suffering, crying and being utterly honest. I preffer a sad situation than a lie or fake smile. I'm glad. Also, many people were using them with "first reactions" just to get some likes, or making them engage in politics, even foreing politics, just to get a ride on their popularity. I'm really happy for you boys. We will survive.
The first thing I immediately felt was relief. I'm not sure why the panic was associated with the term hiatus but I never thought BTS would even want to disband, this was clear in the emotional MAMA speech and they made the decision to stay. From what I've perceived over the long years, they have hustled absolutely non stop and even now I can't comprehend how they did it. That sort of nature is wired for machines, and they're human. From a personal experience, it made me severely depressed and I had to remove myself from the situation once the problem was realized after 4 years. I was worried that would happen to them, or maybe even experienced it but never openly showed it to the fans.
When you're constantly watched by millions, and surrounded yourself with the same people doing the same thing, the thoughts that could only be born in solitude is erased. We always see BTS as a group of 7 people, but who are these individuals when the name BTS isn't tied to them? Being in BTS shouldn't be their only identity or who they are known for. There's no confirmation of this, but I wouldn't be surprised if they're struggling to see themselves and unintentionally doing this through the public/fans' eye (3rd person perspective), and at this stage it's not that a break is wanted, but needed. They don't need reasons to justify it, or even to tell us at all.
I love how laidback David is in this whole situation, just like everybody should. Just wait for what they got to show us, let's not panic. They said they want BTS to last long, Suga said several times talking about BTS's future "when we gonna perform in 20 years...", and they literally said they are with us forever. But for that to happen there needs to be a change. Everything will change eventually, it is just a matter of time. If they would continue in this kind of style they had for the past years, they wouldn't last forever. They would get so exhausted and they would lose everything they build. I saw a post saying making this decision now, when they are at their peak shows a lot of their true personality and sincerity they have towards their art and fans. It is not that they couldn't do it, they could force it but they decided not to. They decided to find their way again for a better future. I was actually so happy when they said the second chapter is their solo work and finding their selves, happiness, and living life. I can't wait to see what all 7 of them got to show us. What made me sad and later angry was how they were afraid to tell us and thought we would be disappointed.
BTS showed us purple which was beautiful and we can still enjoy it and learn from it. Now it is time for all 7 of them to show us the rest of the rainbow. And when they are ready we can go back to purple and continue the journey till the end.

It was sad but cathartic to see RM be a bit honest about how difficult recent years were for them. It was obvious that something was off. Hopefully they come stronger after this hiatus. I am really looking forward to see their individual colors .

Whole heartedly agree!! We as “ordinary “ people who aren’t celebrities have phases of life we go through, house change, family growth, job change, etc. too. Why aren’t they allowed to explore those aspects too? And all that at such young ages and much later in life than most people do. Those who truly respect and love them as artists realize that they’re humans and have the right to do what’s best for themselves too. I mean the fact that they’re hurting and feeling guilty at just the thought of making ARMYs feel “bad” speaks volumes! They spent most of their adolescence working nonstop, not really having the time to figure out who they are as individuals, as they’ve always been together. Being on their own is a whole other challenge. It’s not going to be easy for them, even if they can keep themselves busy for whatever timeframe they’re taking. It’s hard enough for regular people to do this and that and move on in life without having some regret, and if I’m not mistaken that’s also part of what they’re not wanting to do. They’ve been this nonstop_ since the beginning, having ridiculously small amounts of breaks bc they’ve felt this need to keep going regardless of what they’ve been feeling. They deserve this!! They deserve time to figure out whatever, to try new hobbies, to experience life and what it comes with, find out who they’ve become at this stage in their lives! So few of us (people) get such opportunities to have time to do so….. so I truly hope that they do!!
I, as many true ARMYs, will support each of them no matter what they decide to pursue in and out of BTS. They will always be BTS… nothing is going to change that… and BTS & ARMYs will always be forever together!!!

exactly. I am in a phase right now when I don't really know who I am, what I want to do with my life and I've been working on myself for the past 8 months. Imagine going through this struggle and not be able to take some time of to just figure out who you are. You know you are BTS, you know you are part of this magnificent group but at the end of the day when we go to bed we are all alone in the world and the same goes for them. When you lay in bed all by yourself and think about who you are, what you want, what your dreams are and KNOW that you cannot pursue them because your life is not exactly yours it must be devastating.
Imagine having all the resources in the world also to be able to figure out what you like ( try new hobbies, for ex ), to travel, spend time with your family etc and not being able to do that either.
Idk man, they deserve time, space, respect, love, support and everything good in the world ( from ARMY included ) just because they've spent the last decade of their lives working constantly to make other people happy.

I think all is due to the military enlistment. I couldn't finish watching, I broke down in tears. Their announcement was bitter sweet for me, they saying they will do BTS RUN was such a release for me. And to know they are not disbanding is enough for me. At list we getting 7 album. They really care about us, they're attached to us as we are to them.

The difference between Bts and all the other groups is that Bts love each other, and they always keep their promises.

I totally understand where they stand and support their endeavors because they need time to grow. Love them all and appreciate all they've done. What ever David said about Jimin always thinking about ARMY, it is so true.... Whenever members are given time to speak, he has never spoken about himself, he is always talking about making ARMY's happy, him getting better, not doing enough stuff like that. How burdening it can be in his mind sometimes, just imagining that makes me feel sad.
It's ok not to be ok as long as bangtan will come back healthy and with so much amazing song again for army. We'll support them always

when Yet to come first came out, i was like "I'll see it when I see it" as I've disengaged from them for a while now as to me, it was obvious what they were dealing with. I work in the creative field and interact with the tech field and everyone goes through that 'fork in the road' of what path they should follow (the art/passion or being a 'responsible adult' aka think of the business first) so when I heard they're refocusing and going back to their roots... well I couldn't sleep because of how happy I am that they are moving forward. If this happens to be the official end of BTS as a brand, I'm glad it ended up as a high note and I know the guys will continue to make new projects solo, sub groups or even another version of "BTS" brand. I'm just so happy that they are finally getting out what really felt like a small box that was getting smaller and cramped. I can listen to their music again with out that cloud of worry I've started to have in the past year and half. there's not an ouch of bitter sweetness for me, its full on glee :) They're getting to finally breath again! to be who they want to be/become again and that is why I followed them in the first place.
I haven't even watched the festa, but when I saw articles about the "hiatus," I had no worries whatsoever. I felt happy for them and know that this is very much needed for them to grow, not just as artists, but as regular human beings.
JHope first cry might because of yawning, Jimin's cry was expected, but Namjoon and Yoongi cry really broke my heart. Then everyone cried. Really, they dont even need to sorry. I am happy for them to pursuit their own career and happiness. As Yoongi said, they are not disbanding at all.
i want to add that BTS doing solo activities is nothing like other groups going on hiatus. everyone is taking one direction as an example but the truth is they are nothing like that simply because they will all be under the same company, at least for the next two years. one direction all changed labels. bts's bond is way different because they went through all bad stuff together while other groups rose to fame quickly and lastly but definitely non least, BTS have army. we'll always be there for each other and as RM once said, we keep them grounded not like other artists who are absorbed by their fame

Most self-centred successful artists' immed priority is to trash their hotel rms, hv girls smuggled in &/or get high on drugs.
The thing is the translation was wrong yoongi didn't say hiatus the translator did which if you kow groups that is basically code for breaking up. Hybe within an hour had come out and
said there is no hiatus they are simply going to work on their solo projects.

I'm 62 years old. At first I liked Seo Taiji then, BTS. I respect the choice they made. They need to discover their identity. Like they said; they lived together for such a long time and they discovered now they are living on their own that each one of them have decorated their houses so different from each other.
To me it is important that they are happy, healthy. Also my wish for them is to always be friends and that they will support one another.
They mean a lot to me because, their music/lyrics etc helped me through difficult times. BTS and another group Nightwish are my positive medicine. Funny thing is that both fandoms are called Army. They both make meaningfull and good music.
I don't have a bias. I like RM Suga JHope Jin Jungkook V Jimin equally. I'll keep on supporting all Seven with what they are going to do. I will also keep on supporting ARMY projects to help people etc in need. That's BTS'S legacy.
I hope that they will come back as the Seven from BTS. Mature, happy etc.
Look at the Backstreet Boys they are real Friends. They helped each through difficult times. They still perform. Not so often but, they do.

It's like the quote "distance makes the heart grow fonder," so this separation will help the guy's find what makes them happy and come back as 1 with more passion and love for each other. It's like that in any relationship like my hubby and I we live together for 20 years and we just got in a rut. We were just going thru the motions. But, when he decided to get his own bedroom in our house. We would not see each other even in the same house but, thru out the week one of us would visit the other for movie times or dinner like a date. It helped us regain that love and passion we have for each other. This way we can be better parents as well to our children. They see that we are happier and not arguing over the small stuff like buying the wrong tomato sauce lol. It's healthy to have space and a place u can be alone. I hope the guys come out of this stronger and livelier than before which they stated that they will have many more new stories/adventures to tell each other as well as their fans thru music.

I really love how David is so down to earth, so "Suga" like minded, I really admire that, he sticks to the real information (as even Jimin asked us) instead of making theories, predictions and all that energy draining stuff that lead us to nowhere. I am very sad, but relieved about them taking a rest. Because I have been feeling their needs for one for awhile now. I am sad because I am only an ARMY only since Nov 2020. But I want them to last a long time too and this is the only way.
Yes people will still be here when they come back whenever they come back together. And no the “hype” won’t come down because there is no “hype”. They have changed the landscape of pop and of music in general to some extent. At this point, they are legendary. That type of capital is eternal.
The only thing that can change their dynamic, for the better or worse, is if they found partners, and IF they allow that to influence things.
Queen and The Rolling Stones have fans from the 1970s. Coldplay has fans from the 1990s (Me!). So I don’t see why people can’t be fans of BTS for the next hundred years. The only difference I suppose is that those previous western groups aren’t working for companies, but companies work for them.
I foresee them creating a company together. With Bang PD’s support, mentorship, and maybe involvement. So they can exist separate from the shareholder demands of a company like HYBE.
Danny should not play the stock market. You will never make money freaking out like that. The only way to make money in the stock market is buying when everyone is selling. And most importantly, selling, when everyone else is buying. From what he said publicly on this channel, Danny sells when everyone sells and buys when everyone buy. Like David, I’m really happy for them. They deserve this time. They’ve always told their fans to live their truth, and it’s time they got to do that as well. My biggest concern was their extreme sadness at the announcement. It makes me feel so sad that they’ve been this stressed and overworked for so long. They just give so much. We ARMY are truly blessed.
Thank you for doing this. I feel a little more reassured. I'm older ARMY (57) and relatively new ARMY. When my oldest son moved out of the home last year it was heartbreaking (I didn't let him know that) but I knew it was time for him to fly and find himself. I let him have his space, to become an adult with his own thoughts and likes and activities. These young men need to find themselves, become individuals, adults if you will. They will come back stronger than ever with new, mature experiences to sing about. I will miss them as a group, cheer them on in their solo careers and look forward to the comeback. I will remain ARMY for life.
I want to know why certain ARMYS feel that BTS owes them their lives! Honestly - they're human! The first time in 10 years they had a break was last year, when they had month off. They've worked so damn hard to bring us joy, why are those people turning on them in their hour of need? I'm ashamed of those selfish ARMYs.

As an Army for over 7 years. Tbh I kind of felt the change since “Butter” it felt like Hybe’s work than BTS… I was waiting for that passion they had for making music again.
But because of them I learned so much about South Korean culture, and music.
Because of them I became a Carat as well. When I saw the BTS Festa is was almost refreshing and relieving that they opened up to us because I realized they had the same feeling, and that they NEVER changed. I thought I just graduated from my BTS phase but it was truly because they didn’t feel as passionate at the time… I am really looking forward to them now🥰
I'm the same boat as army for 6 years, this just confirms my suspicions and feelings about the music they've been releasing these last 2 years. I had already kind of "graduated" from them so I'm not that sad, I was kind of expecting something like this honestly. It all makes sense now and I'm really glad they're being so honest about it. Honestly wish they never released those English tracks.
Personally I like Dynamite a lot. But the magic was kinda gone for me when BigHit became Hybe and the intro changed and then they released Butter and PTD and we were waiting for an album that didn't come while they were shooting & promoting all kinds of stuff instead of resting a lot more. I still remember how awkward those promo interviews for Butter were and how done Namjoon was answering the same questions over and over again ...

This is why Jimin said "please take our words for exactly how we say it". People are already over analysing things and making deductions. When they said they felt lost and wasn't sure about the direction,it immediately is being translated to "Oh they hated Butter & PTD" , bruh they themselves said that they loved those particular songs, they were vocally excited for PTD more than for Butter. They just said that making only songs of that sound is not the direction they want to be headed to, I am sure all the judgement didn't help either. They did things together while wondering "Can I do this on my own too? Am I adding value to the group or am I dragging them down a bit? I want to do this at this age but is it right for all of us?" They're just going through life stages as anyone would, not everything needs to be made into a debate (OOO they're exhausted because Hybe made them do this, Chakho sucks, NFT blah blah) by people who basically made a career out of making assumptions. Let them live and grow 🙄
Whole heartedly agree!! We as “ordinary “ people who aren’t celebrities have phases of life we go through, house change, family growth, job change, etc. too. Why aren’t they allowed to explore those aspects too? And all that at such young ages and much later in life than most people do. Those who truly respect and love them as artists realize that they’re humans and have the right to do what’s best for themselves too. I mean the fact that they’re hurting and feeling guilty at just the thought of making ARMYs feel “bad” speaks volumes! They spent most of their adolescence working nonstop, not really having the time to figure out who they are as individuals, as they’ve always been together. Being on their own is a whole other challenge. It’s not going to be easy for them, even if they can keep themselves busy for whatever timeframe they’re taking. It’s hard enough for regular people to do this and that and move on in life without having some regret, and if I’m not mistaken that’s also part of what they’re not wanting to do. They’ve been this nonstop_ since the beginning, having ridiculously small amounts of breaks bc they’ve felt this need to keep going regardless of what they’ve been feeling. They deserve this!! They deserve time to figure out whatever, to try new hobbies, to experience life and what it comes with, find out who they’ve become at this stage in their lives! So few of us (people) get such opportunities to have time to do so….. so I truly hope that they do!!
I, as many true ARMYs, will support each of them no matter what they decide to pursue in and out of BTS. They will always be BTS… nothing is going to change that… and BTS & ARMYs will always be forever together!!!

They are definitely going to work on individual music and that was very clear from the festa. They aren't disbanding is what Yoongi mentioned specifically, also Jimin said that we should just take it LITERALLY as they said so I think yes all the concern was natural and yes it was a sad day but Bangtan aren't going nowhere, they are here so I am relieved. Also I am so so proud of Namjoonie for speaking up.
All I want is for BTS to be happy. If this new chapter makes them happy then I’m happy for them. I wish BTS knew that Army has no expectation and don’t wish for BTS to feel any type of pressure.
I’ve been an Army for 8 years and though the BTS festa got me teary eyed I am still forever grateful and ecstatic to be a part of their lives. I will continue to walk the same path as BTS and support them no matter what!
Honestly, the decision they have chosen and the way they have informed us about it in itself is the epitome of why I became an ARMY.
Am a rather young ARMY (late teen), going through a mental low/slump/exhaustion at what you could say my 'peek' (not in terms of success but so much of my future could change based on what I do with my life now).
Continously pushing back the idea of healing myself from all the things that have brought pain in the past years to run along with student life and responsibilities....seeing them finally express and openly accept what they have been through was so overwhelming and made me think about myself too.
Known them for long and enjoyed to their bangers as a child but it has only been in the recent few years that I dwelved into this whirlpool of understanding the essence od their work, to finally find comfort in a constant sense of stuffiness.
And as for them coming back as a group Internet/social media will shape a lot of things. Their solo careers and its success will surely be compared. An thats not necessarily a negative thing unless it goes to disrespectful levels by disregarding them. But that is bound to happen with the very prevalent stan culture and the chances of SOME solo stans trying to create a crack within the group.
But neverthless, as long as each of them remain true to themselves, sincere like what BTS always stood for, no matter what haters/antis or anyone says, there will still be enough who genuinely see through all that.

President NamJoon is crying when he says "rules of the world" which tells me how much the BS nonsense of other people's expectations, criticisms, and pressure has confined his personal spirit too long so he cannot take it anymore. Even a machine breaks down, and he is a human heart. RM is very hardworking, stoic, a true leader so he does not give up. A true Warrior who will lead the ARMY and die for the ARMY. It pains my heart deeply to see RM so affected that he could not keep the tears from flowing. He must have been suffering for such a long time. All of them put on a happy face because BTS always sayd, They exist to make ARMY Happy with Positive Energy. Now, we should repay BTS kindness. We should put on a HAPPY face and be happy for them. i know Jin said he isn't pressed to do acting and feels like he's already lived so much life and done so many different things he wanted to do through acting through his idol life, but honestly I really think Jin is a natural actor. He has the acting talent. He's like what Ahn Hyo Seop wants to be in his dreams. This is no shade to AHS, but when I think of Jin acting his face shape is sort of similar to AHS, but I feel like Jin is more compelling as an actor. He has presence.

It is a pity because I am only joined ARMY last year and haven't have a chance to see the boys on stage. Also they were constantly saying that when they weren't working they didn't really have nothing to do, feeling lost... They literally live for their work and not having their personal time for so long must have been frustrating, reaching a point where, when they had that free time they realized that they don't know themselves anymore and are not able to create. I'm definitely happy, because I've always wondered if their mental health is well cause of those comments and lyrics. Glad they're taking care of themselves in order to find their purpose again and give us the best era that is yet to come.
I’m so glad BTS finally said their honest feelings and are taking this break. On the outside looking in (meaning I’m not an Army) they seemed so tired. Like kpop groups normally take breaks and do solo activities like vacation, or solo music, or acting, variety shows, but BTS has been working since debut basically. They got so popular in Korea and then it feels like all over the world and they have been moving non stop. They also have seemed different on television and what not even they’re music to me wasn’t as impactful because it was to please a global audience it didn’t have the same impact they didn’t feel all in it either. I’m so glad they are finally getting a break to be themselves not just BTS. I hope they all get to spend time with their families and pick up hobbies. I even hope some of them decide to do a few variety shows in Korea. I look forward to their continued growth as artists both individually and as a group.
I took it a little more further than I probably should. I was way too emotional. I took it as if they were going to do their own thing then eventually disband later. Yes they said they are not disbanding, but it scares me to think they will enjoy their solo found lives and may no longer want to get back together. They’ve been through so much pain as well. I’m sooooo upset that there won’t be a world tour as well. I’m so sad. But their happiness and soul searching is much more important than me going to a world tour. I hope and pray they find themselves and find peace as well. They probably want relationships too… I just hope they find happiness.🙏🏼💜

My first reaction was sad. Teared up during the Festa then thought about it retrospectively, If they had just announced they were slowing things up and releasing solo work I would have felt alright let them take their break but them speaking up so candidly and sincerely about their struggles moved me to tears and I was feeling so low. I was scared in a way that bts had such an effect on me. Because they are bts and because they did it the way they did made me cry but actually its not that sad at all.
Yeah, I felt similar. I wanna care less to suffer less. But for some reason I'm so emotionally attached to them that I always feel the urge to be informed about what they do and then I either feel good or kinda bad about it. This time I was sad at first but also glad that we now know what is going on and what we can expect in the near future. Concerning them taking a break: It won't feel like a break to me unless there is absolutely zero new BTS content for at least a month ...

"how were you able to grow individually while being in a group since young age?" this was always the question I wanted to ask them, if I ever had the chance to. Even if you're in a friend-group, it can holding you back from individual growing, from taking different perspectives & building personal views. & like RM said, there is no time for that specially as an idol. Now, I am very glad to hear that they gonna take time, to grow in their own ways, with their own projects. I cried with them cause I could feel how hard it was for them to talk about it. Imagine how long they had to keep it back. As an OT7 army, I'm looking forward to everything they gonna make, as being themselves, finding themselves, finding happiness & purpose in life at all. They are human, they deserve to be treated like human. They gave us so much joy & happiness, we can't even explain. We should be thankful for that & let them have individual joy & happiness as well. I think the peak was when bang pd stepped down as CEO and privatise big hit and secured BTS. Those are my thoughts, I will be forever grateful to BTS and I hope they'll be happier moving forward.

I have never felt disappointed or angry at all. Actually, I'm so proud of them and thankful to them. Because of them I want to live my more happier and try harder for myself and family. While they're focusing on their solo work, I'll also be focusing on my career and personal growth. One day when they comeback as One, we will all be stronger than ever. I will support their solo work and also if there're group project, I'll be more than happy. No matter what, it won't change the fact that I'm OT7 and I will always always be there for them.
