I live an hour north of Shasta Lake, we've had an impressive amount of precipitation up here, and Shasta and Oroville are both releasing water, so it's going to be an interesting year. Good luck at Oroville (I didn't peek).
I've been in this spot many times, asking what am I doing here today.. Like you If we get another day like this what will we decide... Heck yeah .. We'll do it all over again 😊😊
Hit the + on your 360 graph to zoom in it will fill more of the screen, I've been running a mega 360 on my boat for a while and it made a huge difference when someone let me know about it, tight lines enjoy your videos!
Fishing aside, you are a prime example of commitment! Most of us would've sat this one out than to go out in the cold rain to get some fish catches. Appreciate you consistently pushing out this quality content. Much respect brotha!
You've had a much better cold weather season this time around compared to last winter. You're definitely figuring out ways to get fish at any time or any place, not something many people can just go try and succeed at.
We still enjoy watching Greg whether it be 2 fish or no fish you still made it out no matter how the day turns out. Keep up the good work bud. looking forward to the tournament vids.
Yep the rain has returned it’s been raining for 3 days now in 805 Ca. area our lake is up to 81 % full it hasn’t been that high since I was a kid it should be an amazing spring with the reservoirs & lakes all filled.
Greg, I've got to give ya credit for making this video on what looked to be weather wise a terrible day to fish. That being said Thank you for bringing us along. Looking forward to the next video !!!!!!!!
You’re in my home town of Chico Greg. All though I no longer live there since moving to Idaho it is great to see old stomping grounds of where I grew up and fished! I remember when Sierra Nevada was brewed in the owners garage! It’s come along way! Tight lines!
Watched your channel for years, and I finally pulled the trigger this weekend on a yak. I’m studying your Cayuga videos (not spots, just techniques), and I’m coming for ya Greg when ya come back east! 🤙
Ahh yes good hot coffee ☕️ and watching Greg brave a rainy 🌧 cold day on Shasta for us thank you Greg. Hey the Skunk was out of the boat anyway lol. Thanks for the video bro can't wait for the next one.
Coffee time with GB 😊 Thanks for braving the elements to bring us another day on Shasta. I've fished in the rain, but the pain of not feeling your hands when the fish don't cooperate becomes frustrating. Sorry to see the equipment mishap when you returned to the ramp. We had a similar incident at Berryessa when a bunch of inexperienced boaters jammed up the ramp. We have a Hamby's on the bow and intended to beach the Ranger in order to get our trailer. I had a brunette moment and didn't realize the Minnkota was still down - yikes! Have fun on Oroville and good luck! 👍🎣👍
So I’ve fished Northern California lakes since the late 70’s and here’s bar none the best way to catch them in Feb,Mar and April rain. Rig a white spinnerbait with at least one blade of the two a thumper blade that vibrates, put a 3 or 4 inch trailer bait on and slow roll it deep! The Bass (all 3 Species) will light it up. I only share this info because I left California for greener pastures 😎😎😄
i started using black nitrile gloves for rainy winter surf fishing. game changer! keeps me dry and me pretty warm with enough tactile feel to tie knots etc, can even use my smartphone with them on. hopefully helps you too on a rainy lake one day.
What a trooper! You know there are easier ways to wash you Yak and gear.😂 To answer your question of If 2 fish are worth it. YES, no skunk in the toughest conditions is nothing to shake a stick at. All those other crazy people at the launch got skunked and their gear is still dirty.😂😂 Good luck with the tournament. I hope the weather is nicer to you all. Separating the men from the boys.
Man! What a grind! You’re a better man than most of us G! Thanks for the content. Makes me feel warmer to see you out there freezing. Lol. Sorry about that!
Definitely get the feeling of it not being worth it sometimes, but you never know when it'll be that magical day out on the water! Also, sidenote, what job do you have that lets you travel and work like that? Seems like the dream! Thought you were a PT or something.
Hey Greg, always enjoy your videos and I too have gone out in crazy weather many times because I like fishing so much! Got to satisfy the fishing itch...😂. Goodluck at Oroville!, looking forward to watching it!
As always Greg, good to see you. Had a day just like this last week. Decided it was a good time to work on my kayak and add a new additon to it which will not allow me to fish until im done with it. Good and bad. Lol. Thanks for the video
Sometimes a wacky worm works awsome when there not bitting out there. Awsome video, our group of guys launch from Jones valley. I know that area very well. Next time go find some trees, I can always get a bite there. Good luck at Oroville!
Gorgeous, perfect day. For Rainbows. Rainbows often go airborn, and taste oh so good. Perhaps give it a go when environment enables. Rainbows, are legendary sport fish for good reason. The last minnowish 10" trout I hooked, a GDNR planted fish in the Chattahoochee, took to the air 6 times. It was crazy fun for such an itty bitty thing. Hook into 16"or more, and you'll be grinning from ear to ear. Hook into a Steelhead, and all your lines from your plethora of reels, might snap. But the memory will be forever etched into your consciousness. ✌️ 👍😎👍
Thanks Greg, Because of you, I started kayak fishing and entering tournaments last and love it. I have a 2023 Native slayer 12.5. QUESTION: Considering adding a motor and trying to decide between a Xi3 bow mounted or a Newport NK300 stern mounted. What would you suggest? Thanks again!
Shasta is ok but I've noticed you have never made a video at Trinity lake come up here and catch a PB small mouth I would like to see how you fish the lake I grew up on... love the channel
Since you mention activity you're seeing on the graph occasionally... do you ever consider recording from your graph and split-screening? It would be an interesting viewpoint for us watching. Just a thought, and really dig your content either way.
@GregBlanchardFishing lol, I've seen it done... but couldn't tell you how. No worries, was just a thought. Keep doing your thing and good luck in Oroville!
Curious why you dont just throw a jig worm instead of the weedless shakey? I lived in Az for 7 yrs and an open hook can be used in those rocky lakes and barely ever get hung.
Just out of curiosity, I don’t think I have ever seen you throw the Niko rig. I’m by no means as avid / professional of a fisherman as yourself but there are many situations where I could see it play to your advantage. Especially in this video on all the short strikes. Not criticizing, genuinely curious. Thoroughly enjoy the vids! Stay safe out there!
Dude please come eat at my restaurant. Cafe paradisio in redding. Would love to feed you or the crew when you come back up here. Also would j like to meet you as well. You are such a fishing guru that I look up to. Always slaying. Hit me up

That's some dedication Greg.
the tug is the drug! just didn't get that fix on this day😂
Lets go, Terrence! 2 in a row!😅
Greg, It makes my day when u post a new video... making me a better fisherman with each one.. Thanks!!!
No kidding. Also makes me feel better when GB doesn’t absolutely slay them because that’s my adventure a lot of the time haha. I’m learning though!

couldn't help myself after catching them the day before, man what we do for these green fish😂
@@GregBlanchardFishing the tug is the drug!
I dunno who loves fishing and won’t go whether it’s rain or shine, hot or cold? I love fishing weather like this!
You've had a much better cold weather season this time around compared to last winter. You're definitely figuring out ways to get fish at any time or any place, not something many people can just go try and succeed at.
last year was rough! always something to learn no matter when you go fishing but def during the more trying times
We still enjoy watching Greg whether it be 2 fish or no fish you still made it out no matter how the day turns out. Keep up the good work bud. looking forward to the tournament vids.
You win because you go fishing when no one else does. You are learning the whole time! (And we have all done that with our 360!)
We all have those days!! That Jurassic park reference had me rolling 😂
haha glad some folks got it
Love the videos! Any chance you did one over the garage rolling cart you made for your kayak? Every time I see it I want one haha

Appreciate you out there getting it done in that type of condition! I love lake Shasta!
Loved this morning’s vid… I can really connect w/ the weather conditions…coffee tasted better than usual!
Brutal day but at least you caught a couple of fish. As a Shasta local....Shaky heads are king in Shasta this time of year.
I think that’s the maddest I’ve seen you get in all my years watching. Stay well and enjoy your trip.

That is what I call grinding it out - a true fisherman - Lets Go!!👊👍🎣
One of the best vidéo so far, like to see what we endure for exploring And fishing . Thank for posting this video
The clip @15:07 is my favorite!😂
Great video Greg! You are a determined fisherman!!! Really looking forward to your first tournament!!! All the best to you!!!😊
I would love to see a video of how you pack everything into your truck for a tournament.
Tuff day, don't fish much but love your video's. You're a rock star thanks for bring us along.

Good morning, anglers! Get your cup of ☕️ ready, sit back, and relax as we all enjoy GB new drop 😊
I just sat down with some raw spinach juice and a joint.
Excited for the next video! Let the season begin!

haha, warm truck and heading to the snbc brewery was the perfectd cure
Glad you show the days when the bite is not there. It is the reality of it sometimes. Still a good video!
Lol GB that was me yesterday at the lake, only there were like 15 other trucks/boats but just me on the yak. Got pretty choppy with gusts around 21ish
dang! gettin toward sketch territory!
Congratulations Terence, At least day one was awesome, love the intensity of tournament videos. Of course all G.B. content is great. Thanks

Thanks for taking us on the grind of champions!
Greg you should try some shaky worms out vs the senko. Really makes all the difference. Zoom trick worms work great.
As always Greg, good to see you. Had a day just like this last week. Decided it was a good time to work on my kayak and add a new additon to it which will not allow me to fish until im done with it. Good and bad. Lol. Thanks for the video
Haha thanks Scott. Get that kayak work done during the slower months and you'll be dialed come spring!
Hey bud Morning Dawn Dropshot evertime. Keep a tight line luck luck to ya 🎣 🎣🎣
Good morning, coffee drinkers from out here in the frosty finger lakes!
GB and some coffee? Hell yeah! A good day!
I'm excited for your next vid can't wait it will be a good video

Tight lines this weekend bud cheers
What a hardcore fisherman committed to the chase, it looks like you had the lake to yourself with no other car in the parking lot.
There's alot of launches our lake is huge
Thanks for the video it helps me when I head up tht way 🎣🎣🎣

give my boy Jamie at north valley tackle a big ole howdy from Texas lol
I’d love to see what level of contrast and sensitivity Greg runs on each individual setting in regards to MSI, MDI, and 2D
Watch out for the T-rex 😁
Some days... it's best to just go home and have a beer!
yessir! and i did that most definitely shortly after arriving to Chico 😂
Shasta is ok but I've noticed you have never made a video at Trinity lake come up here and catch a PB small mouth I would like to see how you fish the lake I grew up on... love the channel
Have you tried fishing the Neko rig, I've had really good luck with it when its slow.
"Thank you Sir."
Greg, what knot do you use to tie off your baits, is it the double San Diego jam knot?
Sometimes your the hammer. Sometimes your the nail. Still caught a quality one!
Morning y’all!
On a scale of 1 to 10, how dry did the NRS Champion keep you? I need rain gear this year
I'd say a solid 7. I think its best suited for like a light/moderate spring rain. Dumping and cold temperatures probably not the best
@@GregBlanchardFishing thanks GB, appreciate you.
Coffee and fishing. Yeah , just works...
Get that coffee poured, ☕️ 🎉

Curious why you dont just throw a jig worm instead of the weedless shakey? I lived in Az for 7 yrs and an open hook can be used in those rocky lakes and barely ever get hung.
Just saw they are letting in water to Orville
You should try some better worms (slimmer profile) for that shaky set-up. Looked like a giant ned worm you had on.
20 dollars to park, crazy!
Dang, I was cold for you. Spring is right around the corner, though.
hello.
Where did you purchase the kayak trailer?
I clicked the link to those gloves. Do you wear an xxl because thats the only size listed.
Greg how can I get more info on the foot steering on your Titan X.
Just out of curiosity, I don’t think I have ever seen you throw the Niko rig. love the vidoes man long time sub switching over to a titan x form a topwater pdl mainly cause of you.
First to the key!!!!!!!! Let’s go Greg!!!!!!!!!
lord.. im trying to do some map study and boom ok yep im done lol
A miserable day on the water is still better than a miserable day at work 🤪
unless your like Terence and work at a brewery😂
Yesterdee, todee, tomorree? And dee is a good dee to fish.
Let’s go Mr Gb.
Amazing the torture we put ourselves through to recreate...
yep!
Dang, how much do you have to pay to use that launch?
What is generally the consensus on when you have 'caught' the fish? per 9:20
360 image settings hit menu then scroll to display select front then you can hit the + or - to fit the screen
Dang $20 just to use a ramp?!
Whats the name of that knot?
BassMasters 2000 on Nintendo 64..thats how i know lake Shasta😂..and why did youtube unsubscribe me..wondering why i hadent seen you on my feed🤦🏾♂️
You're in my spot. Lol
Come on everybody! More subscribers so Greg can afford some waterproof gloves!!

What do you do for a living? Cause that’s what I want to do…😅
You: how much does it cost to launch there?
Me: I dunno.
You: how much do you put in the slip??
Me: the WHAT!?! 😳 I just drive in and launch 😅
Sometimes it ain’t worth going out
This was 95% of my trips. I call em Paddle Tossers.
