I'm a member of Japan bonsai association and I keep my valuable bonsai trees at some nurseries in Japan. I'm also worried about this situation. I have heard that Vietnamese thieves were arrested.

I just heard on the Jeramy Vine show the theft of koi carp and Bonsie is growing. the thieves have no care for the item. Advice put or grow in a tracking device
It has always been a mantra within policing that if there were no buyers of stolen goods there would be fewer thieves. It is so sad to see that the unimaginable has become a reality in Japan. Never buy from an unknown source.
So sad that a civilization that has been so very involved for so long, should be exposed to such selflessness! Here in s.w. Florida I have 400+ bonsai trees in cultivation! Long hour's it the heat and monsoon rains make it a challenge! I have only had 1 tree stolen in 20 yrs., and am thankful for that! With camera's [2] and motion activated light's I pray it is enough to preserve peace! As my tree's gain structure+ramification I sometimes wonder if those who watch and wait know the price will only go higher! But I must not let it overcome my faith in God fearing people! May I say I hope your wonderful country will overcome this unbalance! With the world in such a confused and compromised state. Let's all hope thing's will change for the better when all truth is revealed! Thank you for you most enjoyable stories and lesson's. You are a true Master of the representation and cultivation of bonsai! 🌐🙏🤝
Some jizo and such from road sides are being stolen too its disgusting. There should be a website so when a tree is stolen its photo can be uploaded and the international community can keep an eye out for it.. it could be tagged to bonsai channels like this one.

Whoever steals and whoever buys a stolen bonsai does not have the slightest idea of what bonsai means and the philosophy behind this Art, they are simple unscrupulous collectors who basically do not practice the Art of bonsai with those deplorable behaviors.

金魚や錦鯉もそうでしたよね。盆栽は世界中で人気があるが、在留資格を持つ外国人の仕業ですね。強いて言うなら、中国人。
名木には血統書というか保証書とセットでなければ販売できないという風に変えていけば少しは改善されるかと思います。
本当に心ない人の犯罪を完全に防ぐ事は難しいと思いますが、今後も盆栽の文化が続いて行く事を切に願っております

その内、昼間でも盗難に遭うかも知れませんね。一日中、用心したほうがいいですね。車よりも確率的に戻って来ないかも知れませんね。
