The wide right is not even that important. Even if he made it, Mahomes had almost 2 minutes and 2 time-outs. All the Chiefs needed was a field goal. 99% chance they would have won it anyway.

Mahomes Away and Home records are exactly the same. His stats are also exactly the same! There's no disadvantage for Mahomes on the road.
Bills are way over the cap with a ton of free agents. Chiefs have a young loaded Defense with Mahomes in his prime with Pacheco and Rice young studs. This was their best shot.
Chiefs are, I think, 2nd youngest team in the league.
But again, it means nothing if the entire Bills defence is injured, so it factually wasn't the bills "best shot"

To be fair, it all comes down to QB. If your QB isn't the best in the division, or at least close, you're probably not winning the division.
The Bills unfortunately failed to get a guy who was top tier and that doomed them.
As far as KC goes, we don't know what the future holds. KC owns the Bills right now, but things change. I remember when Peyton's Colts couldn't get over the top year after year. Then they finally did it. Same with the Broncos with Elway. One wishes it can happen sooner but sometimes it takes a lot of heartbreak before that sweet win.

The Defense lost this game, period, END OF STORY. Sean McDermott is supposed to be a defensive guru yet KC is his kryptonite in the games that matter the most. I think Leslie Frazier stepped away because he wanted to let everyone see where the real problem is, and it is McDermott.
You see what you want to see. You can't admit that Josh Allen is a turnover machine. The rest of the league knows had bad that is. The Bills can't allow Josh to throw downfield much because he'd end up with 30 picks. And then when he isn't getting picked, he manages to fumble. Josh Allen is a like a somewhat more talented Tony Romo.

Mcd is the problem since the beginning esp with Texan playoff loss … and again he proved his D scheme and his choice of personnel are inadequate … he had Elam and Willam’s both faster stronger and hungrier than Klein and Jackson .. shame on MCd … gave big chunk plays with 7 deep and no blitzing … might have well blitzed … at least u would have had an excuse to chunk plays… 5 3rd down opportunities for KC … 5 … has to be a record …and it was worse showing by his D compared to all previous playoff games … so it’s not getting better .. it’s getting worse …it wasn’t Frazier and it wasn’t Dorsey … clearly it’s MCD all along … gotta go

@@mrt3959 Rooting for the Wild is easy compared to the old North Stars. But the real difference was stadiums. Buffalo had the Aud when we had the Met Center, Metropolitan Stadium, and the Metrodome. Things are better now, but I was abused by Minnesota sports facilities as a child.
Detroit fans haven’t even been to the NFC Championship in 33 years….until now. So they’ve suffered a lot. Plus, Detroit has never been to the Super Bowl. The Bills and Vikings have been to 4….losing all 4 each. But now, Detroit has a real chance to destroy that SB curse.

Actually he has because the Super Bowl he lost to Tampa Bay was played in Tampa Bay's stadium and it was a covid year so the only people in the stands were hospital workers and first responders from the Tampa area so it was a home crowd for Tampa. The official NFL record books do not list it that way but in reality it was a road game.

Chiefs fan here. Josh Allen is an awesome quarterback. In my opinion, Allen is the 2nd best QB in the NFL. If Andy Reid had drafted Allen , Josh would probably have 2 Super Bowl wins within Andy Reid’s system. I truly believe that. The Chiefs were definitely fortunate to get Mahomes, but Mahomes was also very fortunate to get drafted by the Chiefs and to get coached by Reid.
And here comes Lamar, Joe Burrow, CJ Stroud, Trevor Land others next year to try to own the AFC. AFC is loaded with great QB's. Good luck to the Bills......

It doesn’t feel that bad. Allen is a beast and a blast to watch. As long as he’s here the Bills will be competitive and fun. The Bills weren’t blown out once all season and they played excellent for 3 quarters against KC. Then it wasn’t enough. Some places have literally nothing. We have a team worth cheering.
Nah.This is torture. We had our chances the last 4 years and this is our ceiling. Now we're in serious cap trouble and loosind a huge portion of this team next year. We were so close but just didn't have enough to get it done.

I like your perspective/. It’s a smart one. Would you rather have what you have now in Buffalo, or would you rather be a perennial cellar-dweller year after year? It’s fun to be in the hunt every year isn’t it? Let’s take college basketball for example. For 15 years, Roy Williams gave the Kansas Jayhawks a 15 year long, beautiful and incredibly fun journey, ALMOST winning the National Championship twice. But even though he didn’t win it all at Kansas, Kansas was a Top 5 or Top 10 team nearly every year Williams was at KU. And even though he didn’t win the Natty at KU, I was incredibly happy we were always one of the very best teams. And after Roy left for North Carolina, he won 3 Nattys, and Self came to Kansas and has won 2 Nattys so far. But when you’re competitive, the journey is always a blast!!

There are other great QBs but he’s our guy for our team so that’s that. Ride or die. Just like with your b-ball ride. Who doesn’t love to see the highest levels of athleticism in the name of the place you live? So yeah, I’m good with the ride. When one of the sports broadcasters sarcastically dropped a banner congratulating the Bills on being the third best team in the afc for 3 years in a row I kinda thought “fuck yeah, why be ashamed of the bronze?” ✌️

You all had a pretty enjoyable season overall and especially ever since Josh Allen arrived. I’ve said it before, if the Chiefs didn’t have Mahomes, I’d wish for a QB just like Josh Allen. You know, as Mahomes' career continues unfolding, I'm beginning to wonder if Patrick is chasing Tom Brady, or if he has set his sights a little higher. Just to throw it out there, who is the only Quarterback in history to have played in a championship game every single year? Is Patrick chasing Brady, or is he really chasing Otto Graham? Just something to start thinking about.

Otto Graham played in 10 championships in a 10-year career. Brady's 8-year championship run didn't begin until around his 10th year as a starter. Obviously Brady has played in the most championship games aggregately, but if Mahomes could start off 11 of 11, that would eclipse Otto Graham.

Over the past 15 years I have heard countless NFL analysts call Brady an above average QB. They said if you swapped Brady for Phillip Rivers or many others that NE would have the same amount of rings. Then he won in Tampa and they said he went to a stacked team. My point is there have been tons of QBs that had great skills but not when it mattered the most. Leadership, performance under pressure matters.
As A phins fan we choke all the time at the end of the season! But the bills choke allllllll the time in the playoffs!! I rather choke in the reg season then have over 40 years of that! lol

Not a very good analysis of the game. I think the main problem was Allen's decision making. On 2nd down, before the missed field goal, he had Diggs open for another first down on a crossing route, but instead chose to throw to the endzone and missed badly. Tony Romo knew this was his key mistake, but apparently Jim Rome didn't see it that way. But at least he not calling Everett Chris anymore. He learned his lesson!

But Green, Smith, and obviously Montana were good, good, and great quarterbacks, respectively. Considering the years played as a Chief, either Green or Smith were our best QBs since Dawson….until the arrival of Mahomes.

The Chiefs also sometimes seem to play to the level of their opponent. Buffalo is really good so the Chiefs turned it up a notch. I could be wrong about playing to the level of the competition, but I kind of think they sometimes do. Hopefully, the Chiefs will turn it up another notch against Baltimore because Baltimore can be scary good.
Bills and field goals in championship formats just don't down well. McDermott will not coach you to the next level.

the Bills did not have a game finishing/winning plan. The plan to wind the clock down to almost zero, score a TD and win. They just started hoping for home run passes (which were dropped by so called elite players.) That would have left the Chiefs with 5 minutes to drive down the field, wind the clock down, kick the FG and win. The Chiefs have vast experience with this plan.
Pretty pathetic that Josh Allen went for the TD instead of throwing to a wide open diggs for an obvious 1st down they could have ran down the clock and kicked a shorter field goal or a td with no time left for Mahomes to make a comeback.

Chiefs made an adjustment and started calling run blitzes in the second half. Buffalo only ran for eleven yards in the fourth quarter and it wasn't because they abandoned it.

He missed two short throws on the final drive that possibly wins them the game by not even trying to throw them.
@@TehKaiserhe missed three total (one was a long attempt, two were well covered) but he also completed a bunch of short passes to put themselves into field goal attempt position. It's his long throw attempts at certain points in the game , combined with a lame run game that blew the game.
