My nephew is mixed and said very plainly that Kamala is not black. His father, a black man, believes this as well. So, if the mixed kid and the black man believe that about her, they definitely believe it internally.

I think it's important for people to know that shows/podcasts are nothing more than commercials for an individual's/business' agenda (always have been). It's rare to find a show/podcast that genuinely looks to have a balanced, informed, & honest discussion on subjects like this.
The black community has a major problem with gatekeeping. We spend too much time determining who passes the test to pass through those pearly black gates of "true blackness." You can't rely entirely on the word of science when it tends to change. If you do more research, it will show you that all white people have neanderthal and rhesus monkey genes. A lot of military bases are in not so nice areas and close to the hood so if u live off base it’s possible. Either way don’t matter his kids are mixed by they’re black too

as a mixed/biracial person, I am very proud of my mixed identity. I have a perspective that is very unique being a double "minority". I don't identify myself as one or the other because I am both. to simplify for everyone else, I just tell folks that I am an American. If the issue gets pressed, I tell people that I am a Texan. I don't like getting into debates about my "ethnicity". I hate having to remind my people that they do not get to define me or our shared identity because they have had a definition pressed upon them. I was fortunate to grow up around an army base so the mixed thing was not as big of an issue because there were and are so many different kinds of mixed people around. When I was younger, it was mostly the oldheads who had an issue, the kids didn't really care that much. I am happy that I was never in a position to have to choose one or the other, personally. People made that choice for themselves, just like they do now.

My best friend is bi-racial. If you didn’t know, you would assume that he is black. His life experiences were definitely influenced by the fact that he looks “black”. He’s 52 and he has lived his whole life as a black man because that is how the outside world sees and treats him. To say that he is not black, ignores everything he has lived through and denies him of his agency to express how he is seen and how he sees himself. The funny thing is, 100 years ago, I would not be white. As an Irish Catholic/Russian Jew, I’m still not the “proper” kind of Caucasian (WASP) but society mostly accepts my “whiteness”. I say all this to point out that race is not rooted in any science and is largely shaped by culture and society. It only serves to divide humans by creating a hierarchy, based on arbitrary attributes.

I think it's important for people to know that shows/podcasts are nothing more than commercials for an individual's/business' agenda (always have been). It's rare to find a show/podcast that genuinely looks to have a balanced, informed, & honest discussion on subjects like this.

Also if the one drop rule applies, then not only are we all black, but we are also all Neanderthal. as a mixed/biracial person, I am very proud of my mixed identity. I have a perspective that is very unique being a double "minority". I don't identify myself as one or the other because I am both. to simplify for everyone else, I just tell folks that I am an American. If the issue gets pressed, I tell people that I am a Texan. I don't like getting into debates about my "ethnicity". I hate having to remind my people that they do not get to define me or our shared identity because they have had a definition pressed upon them. I was fortunate to grow up around an army base so the mixed thing was not as big of an issue because there were and are so many different kinds of mixed people around. When I was younger, it was mostly the oldheads who had an issue, the kids didn't really care that much. I am happy that I was never in a position to have to choose one or the other, personally. People made that choice for themselves, just like they do now.
Life isn't that complicated. People make it complicated. Love is not complicated.

My best friend is bi-racial. If you didn’t know, you would assume that he is black. His life experiences were definitely influenced by the fact that he looks “black”.
He’s 52 and he has lived his whole life as a black man because that is how the outside world sees and treats him. To say that he is not black, ignores everything he has lived through and denies him of his agency to express how he is seen and how he sees himself.
The funny thing is, 100 years ago, I would not be white. As an Irish Catholic/Russian Jew, I’m still not the “proper” kind of Caucasian (WASP) but society mostly accepts my “whiteness”.
I say all this to point out that race is not rooted in any science and is largely shaped by culture and society. It only serves to divide humans by creating a hierarchy, based on arbitrary attributes.

Columbus thought he found a new route to India and mistakenly or conveniently called the natives he encountered "Indians." The rest has neen modern day history as we continue to misidentify people racially. Columbus' mistake is forgivable.
