Ssj goku didn’t think he had time to get back to his ship which shouldn’t take more than 1 second at light speed. Frieza couldn’t get to Dede in time when he was making the wish and he could see the dragon with his eyes. I have very clear examples of them not being light speed, while you need to use scenes that do not have distance or time mentioned

And you essentially have proof it was not the other side of the planet because if it were he wouldn’t have said he doesn’t have time to make it to his ship. There are many plot holes and paradox for dragonball as it is contradictory like how cell explains that as long as his head stays intact then he will keep regenerating but before when he fought goku, goku instant Kamehameha is torso and head to where it was only his legs left but then he regenerates it back
U can say that cell didnt know how good his regenrative factor was because all the technquies and abilities of the z fighters cell is able to perfect it
