Shoaib Ji, there are twenty-two official languages that are spoken in twenty-eight states and eight union territories of India. Despite this, there is complete cultural unity in my country. There may be political hassles but culturally the whole of India is one. I recently went on an Indian railway tour that lasted fourteen days and took us to nine important Hindu temples in India. These were spread all over India and situated in areas in the south where language changed with each day as the train journey progressed. Trust me when I say that I became culturally stronger when I realized that I and the people whose language I do not understand belong to the same idea of India and the same culture. I do not speak any of the south Indian languages but they spoke broken Hindi and adequate English for us to communicate. English is the most widely spoken language in India but it has not dented the Hindu and by extension the Indian culture. It was folly to impose the Urdu language as the language of Pakistan by the Muslim league. They killed Sindhi, Punjabi, and Baluch languages. They also killed the unity of Pakistan. If you ask an Indian from any part of India what comes first, his religion or India the answer will always be India because he is connected to the soil of India through his language. I am Indian first and then a Hindu. It is the exact opposite in Pakistan. You are Muslim first and then Pakistani. You don't have a composite culture because your government destroyed it. You even broke your country into two parts because of the Bengali language. Your government destroyed your culture and sowed the seeds of the ultimate destruction of Pakistan. That tree is now bearing luscious fruits.

Urdu originated from erstwhile India but you will find that it was developed specifically to separate the muslims from Hindus. They envisioned that when India becomes islamized, then all original languages should be overridden with this Urdu language

Punjabi is quite similar to Hindi/Urdu that's the reason many famous Urdu poets and writers are Punjabis. Whereas Sindhi, Balochi, Pashto and other Indian languages have no connection with Urdu/Hindi.

So, more people can read write and speak Urdu in UP state forget rest of India. Being born in Hindu family I have studied Urdu till class 5 and then I changed to Hindi.
Now Indian punjabis and pakistani Punjabis are completely different in every aspects whether it is culture or any other thing.

It's an Indo-Aryan language and it's "mutually intelligible" to most Indo-Aryan languages.
For example, I'm from Maharashtra, most people here can pick up a lot of spoken Gujarati, Marwadi, Dakhni Urdu, Lucknawi Urdu, Haryanvi, Punjabi, Bhojpuri, even bits of Bengali and Odia.
Please, just search for mutually intelligible languages.
Similarly, Kannada and Telugu speakers can understand some bits of Marathi,
Even amazing is Sinhalese of Sri Lanka is very intelligible to Prakrit languages like Marathi and even to Sanskrit.
Btw, I hope you know that we in India have Tai-Kadai, Sino-Tibetan, Dravidian, Iranic and Indo-Aryan language families.

Do you know that modern Hindi and Urdu both descend from Hindustani language, and it's assumed by a lot of scholars to be dialects of Hindustani language, subsequently the bifurcations with other sub dialects.
For example, I don't think we have a Hindi equivalent of say a, fan (panka), baadam (almond), Pista pistachios from Piste (Farsi), shaheed (Ar3bic for martyr), etc.

Colloquial Urdu and Hindi are almost the same. We use both Hukumat and Sarkaar in Pakistan. We call Government school SARKAARI SCHOOL not HUKUMATI SCHOOL. Also, government institutions in Urdu are called SARKAARI MEHAKMA.

Well Bharat is not Bollywood as people call it, it is but just a small part of the movie Industry . There are movies made all over the country in different languages, Bengali, Gujrati, Tamil, malayalam, Telugu, Punjabi, Bhojpuri, Oriya and so many others. However the base is the same, we are from this soil, our motherland, this is the beauty of the culture, we connect through our soil and beyond... Religion as you call it is Dharma for us, Sanatani Dharma, eternal law of the universe, it applies to everything, Rocks, plants, animals, everything.
It is something that you have to try to understand very deeply and for that you have to overcome the idea of kafir and jihad, hatred for Hindus etc. Once you overcome hatred, you will see things clearly and maybe someday this realization will occur to you.

I think from your series true history is coming out, through the people whom you interview, which is not being taught by the govt there.
