*christian* SPIRITUAL RETREAT...// how to connect with God.

I had been feeling overwhelmed with questions about the future (which is normal for a 20-something year old). Looking at my circumstances while also remembering the promises God has spoken left me feeling like I needed to have it all figured out. I kept looking to the mountains and sensing this call to get away and retreat to the beauty of nature and hear from God. So, that is just what we did.
When you can’t seem to find peace in your heart or settle your mind that is swirling with questions, something you can always do is get away from the noise and retreat to God. As a follower of Jesus, God gave us His Word full of His Promises to run to when we have questions or need guidance. It doesn’t matter where you are, you can always draw near to God and He will draw near to you [James 4:8]. When we bring our questions before the Lord, we don’t always get the exact answers we might think we want/need. However, we will always gain PEACE and perspective as we trade our cares for His comforting Word.
Trusting God with our future takes great courage and faith. It also comes with relinquishing control and accepting His plan for your life. The promise of God is to always provide what we need if we seek Him FIRST in all things [Matthew 6:33]. It is really that simple - do our best with what we have and seek God with our whole heart, mind, soul and strength. This weekend was a great reminder of God’s promise of peace and provision in the midst of life’s uncertainties and questions. May you lay your burdens at the feet of Jesus and pick up His perfect Peace [Isaiah 26:3]. He is big enough to lead you where He wants you to be. Trust in His patient love for you as you develop in character, faith, and godly contentment where He has you right now.
