Tyler should've won Best Album. He was right to immediately speak the Grammy reporters backstage in calling the "Best Urban Album" 'another way to say the n-word'. His album, Igor, is quite literally an album without genres but all art.

The breathing bit at the beginning that you mentioned reminded you of a Tool song is actually a nod to the song Watermelon Man by Herbie Hancock. And icon song made by a legendary funk/jazz musician
I was unsure of this album at first. But grow in me and now its a classic. This song was definitely on repeat
i love your repertory man, Tool is great af as well, its nice to see u embarking on hiphop right now, its the most rockstar thing going on nowadays. i really do think that being a fan of both genres really complements your experience while listening to music

I've tried listening to Tool before. A friend of mine used to go on and on about how great and complex their songs were. I appreciate their music, but (so far) they are not the guys I want to bring to the gym or on a run with me😅! Even in the song you mentioned, Aenema, the drummer seems to be playing in a different time signature than the bass. I think Muse also does that in few songs. Great for casual listening, but sucks for maintaining a running pace😉. I can definitely see the comparisons you made to Tyler The Creator's song.
