      He was only using that as a cover. He really needed to view insurance records for the bad guy. This entire encounter was to get access to those insurance records.

    after re-watching 1 & 2, you can see why the third movie failed. Axel lacked his childish yet endearing charisma, he was just sanitized in the third movie. that was probably the beginning of the end for Murphys career.

      I once read an interview with director John Landis who said Murphy tried to make Foley older, more mature and less wisecracking but that it all ended up hurting the movie.

    I wasn't too familiar with actors when I was younger. When I first watched Beverly Hills Cop 2, as soon as Sidney Bernstein opened his mouth and started talking, I was like; "Hold on, that's Iago's voice from Disney's Aladdin. So that's what Iago looks like in real life?"

      @@SirNilzey In all fairness, there's an overt Jewish tone to those characters as well. I agree, it's not like he was in line to be the next Thor or Batman or anything like that. I'd watch them if he was, I'm all for diversity. He was as much a stereotype as John Lovitz, that's another guy I think will pass away with hoardes of miniature shampoo bottles from hotels under his bed.

      Doesn't take high speed internet to change some text records, and the connection would likely have been ad-hoc, as in straight dial-in connection to the police server.
