yea, with this layout the players in the middle are under constant pressure, and games tend to be short and explosive, especially with Egypt on the map :)
For a game that is 25 years old. It looks quite stunning. I once tried to play X-COM: UFO Defense from 1994. But the graphics and game mechanics were so old. Playing it felt more like work than fun time. Can it be that the Settler III uses a new Game Engine at the time? It looks quite the improvement to Settler II. Fun thing is. I never played it myself. But I watched enough of my older brother playing III and IV. So seeing this video puts me quite in nostalgia. I even got a original copy of it. I got it when my grandfather and I helped to move out stuff from a lady deceased son (don't do drugs kids) She said she doesn't need it so I could have it. I played "The Settlers II: 10th Anniversary" though. I liked the economic System. But the Combat System was terrible. Heck it was a total lie! What did the game description say? 10 different Units? Yeah. It was just all the same Unit but different rank. And what is the point of a Fortress if you just step out and have a 1vs1 Duel? Settlers was never known for it's exceptional combat System. But that was just terrible. Was it like that in the Original Settlers II as well? What do you think about "The Settlers II: 10th Anniversary"? Was it better than the original? God damed you made me itchy to play the originals myself. Anyway got a new Subscriber. Best regards 😀
Hi, I don't have much experience with The Settlers II as on Settlers United where all of those videos are being recorded we all playing only Settlers III and IV. I would guess that its the same case as for Settlers III and IV - Anniversary edition only added the possibility to play on newer systems and the game itself remained unchanged. Join us for round of III part ;)
