I’m a white man and I’m learning from the black community what it’s like living here. Is it truly that hard as a black person living in the USA? It shouldn’t be hard for anyone. I’m sorry that I haven’t seen it before. But I’m starting to understand. It’s people like you that will wake up the masses and make us all see the truth. Music truly is the eye opener to the world in my opinion. God Bless you man.

The biggest problem for them is that systemic racism is ingrained in the country. I'd read about Beulah Mae Donald. Mudbound is a good movie to watch. And I heard The 1619 Project is a good book to read. That book is at the heart of a lot of controversies these days. But I'd also read about the Tulsa race massacre or watch a doc on it. There is a lot of history they didn't teach us in HS.

No music should not be about color...but heart, soul and spirit... you captured all of this in your music, not only this song..but your others.. i am proud of you, although I do not know you... You have showed that country music is not a color... it is so sad that you will have an uphill battle in this music branch... however all people of color are used to fighting and standing strong... so stand strong Black Man. Willie may not realize that being a black man entering the white dominated world of country music, he has himself become a physical sign of peace. Hes opening doors that he never could have imagined in bringing blacks, whites etc together as one. This song shines light on how we still have more work to do to ensure every human is viewed as equal. PoWORDSfull

Willie Jones, a few months back, I happened upon your initial performance on the XFactor. I’m not much of a country music listener, but I do enjoy some country music. I was blown away by your performance and started listening to your music. But man, this song and video takes it to another level. Most songs you just listen to. Some songs you connect with. Then there are those songs, and videos, that are iconic. They transcend just being just songs and become anthems. For me, American Dream does just that. It is anthem for these times. As a father to two Black boys and as an educator focused on addressing persistent racial disproportionality in suspensions and expulsions of Black students in our schools, and its connection to the school-to-prison pipeline, American Dream is powerful and needed statement right now. Thank you.

I know what he means when he says it's different being a black man then it is being a white man especially in Shreveport Louisiana and and a whole lot of places across this country. I don't think people realize it but Black Country is a new genre and its kick ass! It mixes what traditional country was about with story telling, more love and life related stories in music that many people can relate to. Not violent, not destructive, but just cool shit. Lil Nas X and Willie Jones are my two favorites now! Love this song! You and Lil Nas X should do a bad ass video/song together. And include Billy Ray Cyrus again just because it makes sense.

Will Jones is one of the most underrated musicians out there to this date. I love his songs and his story telling but American Dream is to another level. We need this today. It frustrates me when people like Will doesn’t have millions of views and recognition now but I guarantee if he continues to be himself and make music like this, you will be remembered for a long time. Just like your song, your story, you are breaking barriers with new country fusion music. Great stuff and impeccable talent. As a black man myself who love all music and all people, this resonates. Great story and keep positive people around you. Don’t give up, the music industry is tough but regular people like us will carry you to that Grammy podium. Wish you and your family the best man.

In the past 3 years I learned a great great uncle was lynched at the courthouse in Columbia TN(to be made an exampe out of) and his name(Henry Choate) is now recognized as part of the Memorial for Peace and Justice in Montgomery....The American Dream ain't cheap.....thank you for this song❤🙌👏

I fell in love with you, young'un on the "X Factor". This is the best! So powerful: your voice, the lyrics. When I heard MLK speak live, the first time I was 13. My very spirit became committed to the Cause because of that speech. 71 years later; this song reminded there are still voices being raised for that Cause. And, you, young Brother, do it well. Thank you!

WOW! THIS SONG IS TOTALLY AWESOME!!!!!! I remember when I first was PLEASANTLY SHOCKED (with the rest of America) when Willie Jones sang that country song with his rich & deep sultry voice!!! I just happened to stumble across that audition clip again, today. THEN, this "American Dream" (Official Video) popped up! Mr. Willie Jones...YOUR LYRICS ARE POWERFUL! And, I'm so glad that you put your urgent message to MUSIC! Please, STAY HUMBLE, as you were instructed by one of the judges, and YOUR FUTURE WILL BE ("IS") BRIGHT; not only in "AMERICA"...but, all around the world! GOOD JOB! Signed...A FAN!
