    Fun fact about the defend the train mission: Its a remake of an AC1 mission, and the AC in it is piloted by a man who was experimented on and has gone crazy. He comes into this mission wanting to die.

      @@NeroLordofChaosI honestly cant think of a single example. The top arena people are all super obsessed with battle, Leos Klein is probably insane, Zinaida definitely is, 621 is a meat popsicle, pretty much everyone in 6th gen is screwed up in one way or another. Maybe Rusty?

    Here's four pro tips I shall lay on you!
    1) OVERBOOST GOD DAMN IT!!! GOD FAST!!!!! lol
    2) It's in your best interests to be having something on your left arm. If not the blade, then why not try the shield? It will not stun bladers but it will make you more stable to hits.
    3) Ever noticed how your aim is not quite right at first but does later? Yeah that's a thing. To be perfectly accurate, wait a bit. Your screen will hitch a little bit as the FCS corrects its aiming. It's more clear on a heavy weapon like a chain gun or grenade launcher cuz they have two reticles: the lock box and the manual aimer you've seen on rockets.
    4) You saw the help menu on at bottom of the garage menu? Take advantage of that. It will tell you what you need to know about stats if you ever have questions. It'll even tell you what the legs are good for. Like the reverse joints in this game have the best turning and stability, along with the trademark high jump. You'll be having a blast with those leg types :D
    Anyways have fun. :D

      I do notice that even with the machine guns you start shooting inside the red lock box and after a second or so your shots start homing straight on to the enemy which is a much better use of your ammo, but when you have a bunch of enemies jumping around i just try to fire everytime the lock goes red xb bad habits

    Glad to see you give AC2 another go! It's a great game and one of my favorite Armored Core titles, but it is a lot more difficult than 3, very punishing for a newcomer. It's so good to see how much you've grown since your first attempt! :3
    A little hint I can give you to make your life easier, AC2 has a hidden feature called "limiter release": if you hold L2+R2 and then press R3 you'll go into a state where you have unlimited energy for about a minute (duration depends on your Core part), after which you'll however be stuck without any energy for another minute (after which you can just release the limiter again). It can be a total lifesaver in certain battles, and it could be of great help if you use it right.
    Also, I recommend checking your HUD settings in the garage, you can turn on some extra tools on your interface that can be extremely useful, like an indicator that tells you how many enemies are left in the mission - some very nice quality of life hidden in there! c:

      @ruikiri i actually started with AC2 originally back when I was a kid. Ithought these games were the tightest stuff. I was so confused by how patient enemies and things can be in DS1 as a transition from Verdict Day. Coming to AC2 in PS2 wasn't so much rough as a transition because of the lack of clutch hitbox stuff and good control schemes there were for the time.

    For the chase the transport mission you were meant to use your overboost. It was new for this game so quite a few missions expect you to use it. Pro tip for overboosting: You want to jump into the air when using them and then turn them off, as long as you dont press forward or back while flying through the air you will keep your momentum and can keep tapping boost to stay airborne at high speeds while using almost no energy. A tankers best friend.

    I did an LP of this one on my channel! Always love to see people play AC2, it was my entry to the series too. As always, I'm here with tips!
    - MT Suppression is a god-awful first mission, you're better off doing Eliminate Informer first to get money so you can build an AC better-suited to MT Suppression. High shell defense is a MUST on that mission, a shield is also extremely helpful!
    - The HOY-B999 is the best generator until you can unlock the HOY-B1000 (it's so good it got NERFED in AC2 Another Age)
    - Grind the arena until you reach Werehound, you can get an okay amount of money to spend on upgrades
    - Underground Railroad (part 1) is obnoxious, buy a shield, it helps A LOT
    - the reverse-joint's slash animation sucks, it only hits stuff about waist level on your AC and the end of the slash doesn't connect. The shorter Disorders are just below the hitbox.
    - reverse-joint legs have low drain, but also bad stabilizers. I usually don't play them, I prefer middleweight biped.

    • @baval5
      @baval5 Рік тому +2

      MT suppression isnt bad as long as you play it smart, its always my first mission. You just have to use the doors and hallways to line of site the bots so youre only ever fighting one at a time, preferably at a middle to long distance. If you just rush into the rooms and try to fight them head on like Ruikiri did then yeah youll take a lot of damage.

      @@baval5 I get the secret part in the test arena, sell those off, do Eliminate Informer, then switch to a high-ballistic defense machine with a shield. Gives me greater tolerance for mistakes.

    • @sf3testvids
      @sf3testvids Рік тому +1

      Yea man glad some addressed just how bad MT suppression is as a starter mission, like its easy for ppl with longtime experience sure, but if ur a newcomer first booting up the game just getting acclimated to the controls and movement getting shotgun fucked by large groups of MTs... in a tightly-quartered area with the base build... this mission can take you HEAVILY off-kilter...
      I honestly think the difficulty gradient in general is a bit everywhere in a otherwise fantastic game, honestly this mission is best suited 1/5th maybe ten missions in... not RIGHT AT THE DAMN START!!..
      and don't get me started on the Defend the bridge mission... no new player is going to know to get the impact shock op, or have a ac with good boosters to negotiate terrain/breakable sections of the bridge with lava on the floor =/...

    Weapon analysis time again! This time you didnt really have much of a choice due to lack of funds, but youre going to want to get rid of that machinegun ASAP. There are 4 machineguns in this AC, one of which is an energy machinegun.
    The one youre using is a pretty decent middle ground weapon that doesnt excell at anything but also has two particular bad traits: it has the highest ammo cost per damage, meaning youre paying through the nose to use it, and it has heavy spread meaning a lot of the shots arent even hitting at medium ranges. It is the only machinegun with spread in this game.
    There is a 1000 rounder again but this time its damage per ammo cost is actually extremely competitive and it has the highest potential damage, making it an ideal mission weapon. It can complete Assist Malea Base by itself with ammo to spare and still make a decent profit.
    It suffers in DPS however so it is not an ideal arena weapon, which goes to the 300 round solid shell ZWG-AR/K, though you need to be accurate with it because if you miss too much youll run out before the enemy dies, which also makes it horrible for missions without backup weapons. This is helped out however by the fact that it has 0 spread, it is a bullet laser.
    The energy machinegun is pretty nice with a decent power level and no ammo cost, but at only 300 rounds it requires secondary weapons to support it to complete missions. Note that the energy machinegun is down with the energy weapons in the shop, not with the machineguns.
    There is one other "machinegun" available to biped, which is the machinegun weapon arms. These things are a brutal nightmare, as anyone who has played AC2s arena will tell you thanks to a certain pilot. Insane DPS and potential damage. However, they have the absolute worst damage per ammo cost for machineguns and dont allow a left hand weapon, so do not use these on missions unless you need raw power and can foot the bill.
