- Hey everyone, so some time ago, I produced a 21 minute long video highlighting the voices behind Disney's Encanto. However, UA-cam's copyright rules really had it out for this one, so no matter what I tried, be it cropping the video, adding a watermark, making it two parts, or uploading it in lower quality, they just wouldn't let me release it. So the best I could do was just release each song as it's own small individual video. Which eventually did work, and I've taken the six videos and put them all together in this playlist here. • Encanto | Voice Actors... Enjoy.

I’m sorry but she’s the coolest!! Her confidence on that stage was over 9000. Her performance was so entertaining to watch because of her charisma
I think that’s what I didn’t like about her performance - everyone else was essentially performing as their character, but she felt so unlike Luisa in the personality she brought to the stage. I was very much aware that I was watching Jessica, not Luisa.

@@cindyagoncillo I mean you’re not wrong. But I think it was still like Luisa because she is ‘the strong one.’ And Jessica did embody the strong character. Plus in the song despite it being a song about being literately under pressure, Luisa is confidently attempting to mask her pain to Mirabel and act fine and casual about what she does which Jessica does do

I think its because she has really short hair, so thats why it does not go well with the skirt.
Entire backup wears the same outfits so as the lead singer she wore something different. Better?

Watch the rest of the preformances. All the other cast members-- Mirabel, Delores, etc, wear accurate dresses to the movie. So this comment is correct.

I was impressed at Mirabel's interpret quality of singing, even live. Seems a bit more difficult for Louisa's interpret, but it's still a great performance

Only complaint I have is why didn't she dress in character? It's weird that literally everyone dressed in character and she dresses in a pants suit. I mean she looks great, but it takes away from the visual presentation when she does her own thing.

I think she looks amazing! I love her outfit she was in her happy place maybe she doesn't like skirts it's a nice little stage performance and her outfit is bomb I think it looks better than in the movie was! But that's just my opinion
I have nothing against her outfit. She looks good. But the way I see It seems that someone in skirts can't be strong. In my opinion she should have dressed as her character exactely because It's just a presentation.
@@marianasilva1067 I think she looks great too! Just would have loved to see her in the characters outfit, since almost everyone else was in character.
I found out that almost non of the singers dressed “exactly” like the movie characters, but either the color theme or the overall design was similar enough that the resemblance is obvious. After some thinking, I think if she had a white shirt or something white on the upper part of her outfit, and used a fabric that is maybe less shinny, than the resemblance would be more obvious at first glance.
Anyway, I think the dancers dressed as Luisa were a great compromise.

I'm just looking at all the comments on here and I am like. She looks amazing wearing whatever the hell she wants and it fits just in with the color that is ENCANTO... are you all desperate to see her in some skimpy outfit cause if so... what the hell is wrong with you, too many damn creepy people in here. Yes she could have worn something close to Louisa, but I think Jessica Darrow just isn't a fan of wearing that type of stuff, plus this is more in line with her character, than some skimpy dress.

Did not like it. She did not get into character. She did not dress like Luisa, and I was confused. It is almost like she was trying to make a statement.
Encanto is for kids (yes i know it's for everybody but mainly for kids) so having Jessica NOT wear her character outfit was totally out of line cause most kids were confused by not knowing who it was or why this person wearing pants was singing Luisa's song. Her performance was a great one... If done in a concert for grown-ups. It's exactly what i expect when attending a rock concert or other similar events. Her act was too much for this family/kids musical and also too much since she is not the main character. I do agree that she gave her 100% but they just missed the mark with that part cause everything else was on point!
Honestly, if a kid is confused by a grown woman singing a song that's very well-known in the movie simply because of the outfit she wears, then that should make more for a good teaching lesson on the parent's end. Most children these days would be considered smart enough to understand either way and not make it a big deal, so from my perspective, at least, the actress herself (Jessica Darrow is her name btw) is more important than what she's wearing.

That’s such a hard song to sing live and I’m pretty sure she has to do a character voice while doing it. She looked like she had so much fun doing it as well. Stage presence 10/10. Tutu donkey gets an honourable mention as well 💖😂

It fits perfectly, since Luisa is the one gifted with Superhuman strength. So it's natural for Jessica to be dressed in a suit and pants rather than a dress during the performance.
@@JadenYukifan28 its not the pants suit that is the problem... every other character is in something similar to their movie outfit hers doesn't resemble it at all this drag queen outfit looks nothing like what she wears in the movie to me it just screams look at me look at me which might have worked for a main character like meribel.
@@nicolemakrham222 You are missing the point of what I said, it would be weird for Luisa to have a girly voice even though she is supposed to be the one gifted with Super Strength. That wouldn't fit the character......
I imagine it was a production choice to avoid girl's from seeing a relatively thin woman as Luisa. If the actress wore an outfit similar to the one she did in the movie, she wouldn't be very visually distinctive from the other 2 sisters. I imagine the pant suit was a way to make her look more traditional unfeminine like the character in the movie. Though, I agree they might have gone for a different material/shade for the outfit as it is a bit too visually distinct from the entire cast.
Regardless, love the song and love the performance.
