I am a diesel guy so love seeing one on the trails.
The cake story sounds methed up.
So, the cake story was like a mystery. Maybe her name was Edith and they were fighting because they wanted to have the cake and Edith too…
I’ll see myself out. 😂
🤣
🤣🤣😂😂👍👍
I have never understood the fascination with diesels in a sport where light weight is very helpful. Big rigs, construction equipment, and other applications where weight doesn't hurt or helps, diesel makes good sense. But off-road, racing, etc. it is style over function. And even tractors have mufflers.
The scorpion is a very light and capable rig.
Hearing banjo music in the woods always gives me the willies.
Weight is everything.
I would have thought the scorpion was light but we weighed it last February on video and it was over 6,000 lbs.
@@bleepinjeep Yeah, light is relative. Mischief Maker is 7200lbs, and that diesel must go 7500lbs or more.
@@bleepinjeep Hell, that sounds pretty light by built crawler standards! My Discovery on Rover axles (waaaay smaller than what you run) is 5500 lbs
Yes the well is supposed to sound like that. That is the plunger rattling in the lubricator. When the well turns on it comes up from the bottom of the well pushing liquids to the surface.
This is correct. 28 years of oilfield experience. I’ve operated hundreds of wells with plunger lift.
Cool, good to know
Came here to find this answer haha
Yeah we call the plunger a rabbit we’re I live. That looks like an injection well too.
Matt knows the trails to well just the fact they both made it through under there own power makes them both winners in my book, well done guys that was very entertaining to watch peace out
Definitely some beautiful muddy country back there!
scorpion was built for that terrain, which did an amazing job but the rhinocon which was built as a general wheeler did awesome for such a rig. great wheeling by both
22:59 "It's solid" cuts @ 23:15 to a new anchor point...🙃
Haha, good catch. It was solid but wasn't a good angle
Seemed like some kind of ram pump making that noise.
Id say matt won some and the other guys won some keep up the amazing content and all the amazing work and everything they eles yall do stay safe and continue wheelin
We all know Matt won but both rigs did well and i enjoyed watching.
both rigs did a great job, but bleepin ruled the run.he knew what to expect, the rhino rig did pretty dang good for being cherry on this run.!! rhino needs to add a few things to stabilize body roll, that hurt him.!!
I remember my first Cherokee. My girlfriend said it was dead at her mechanic's shop he couldn't fix it. I bought it sight unseen for 500. I toed it home, noticed the fuses were all rotten and falling out. I changed all the fuses and was doing burnouts in the street. Needless to say she was a little mad. At me and her mechanic! It was sweet 1989 Laredo fully loaded, power everything with cool chrome accents around little things. I lifted it custom 15",Made a real CUSTOM FRAME to mount the unibody to, with dana 44 and 9 inch rear 37" Boggers, and a cheap 89 dollar dynomax cat back exhaust that made everyone ask if it was a Chevy or Ford v8, I said nope Inline 6, STOCK LOL. . I didnt even know what a Dana 60 was back 25 years ago. Then I had a wicked wheeling trip where I made it over everything I never could, and ended up backing into a tree to get out of someones way. That led to chopping the rear off and making sort of a bobbed comanche. O sold it way to cheap and bought a stock 87 Comanche with an Iron Duke. Lifted it 12 " put leafs up front, 37" BFGS. Sold it way too cheap yet agin to build a house. Now I got a broken down Xterra Supercharged....Maybe someday I will get it lifted and going again lol.Its quite a learning curve going to a Nissan powertrain thats blown and needs a rebuild. I have no idea where to start being its supercharged I dont know if the block, crank, rods and pistons are different from a NA Xterra. If they are the same I will just go to the Junkyard and dig out what I need from a rolled Xterra... If anyone had the time to read this and can help with the Nissan Supercharged knowledge please leave a comment!!!!!
No matter who won on the trail the viewers are the real winners. Great video, keep these comming!
Thanks! Will do!
I don't normally comment twice on one post but. Being a devotee of diesel it's good to see this one being so capable. And they said diesel wouldn't work for offroad.
Great show. The Jeep was pretty nice just needs a few tweaks to it and a hemi.
Tractor convention 😂😅❤
Scorpion won.
Been missin' a good trail run. Thanks for taking us on yours!
I see no tire bulge in the diesel, which would explain most of the issues climbing, unique build. Time for freedom winch line🤙
Center of gravity a little high on the diesel, but cool rig. Scorpion works really well.
Especially in the front. That engine weights about 800 lbs which I would bet is about double the EGH 3.8 L. I would imagine the transmission is also heavier. Definitely needs a front sway bar.
@@Fix_It_Again_Tony The 3.6l is actually lighter than the 3.8l. Those 3.8ls are old, old. At least the 5 speed mercedes autos are good for being old
@@mails5054 I was checking them out. Looks like the 3.8 has an iron block and comes in a little above 400 lbs. The 3.6 is an aluminum block so it's probably 50 or so pounds lighter. It also makes a lot more power.
The 4BT is 800 ish. It's a heavy bastard.
@@Fix_It_Again_Tony yeah i run a raptor swaybar with the 3.6l, its a like an antirock, but doesnt come with heims, and chinese lol. Im not spending 700 for a swaybar thatll rust away in minnesota. I have no issues on the loosest settings. I have an aluminum bumper with a frame chop on just 35s. Im small at 6 foot 1, 150. I couldnt imagine another 450 pounds, plus steel bumpers/heavier human
Heck yeah! Good to see RCI on here - they're great people! They had worked on my ZJ down in Melbourne, FL.
That diesel is bad ass!
31:30 it suppose to sound like that..its a ramp pump, pumping water without electricity..
The diesel jeep is cool. Looks like he had a vision in mind of something that was a little different, and he went for it. That's what makes it cool. That said, I have to wonder how many iterations it's been through and how often driveline parts have been broken and upgraded due to the extra weight and torque. Looks like it could do even better with some tweaks to the center of gravity and sway. The scorpion would be even more awesome (or "cheating" even worse lol) with a little more power. Great video! Loved watching both vehicles tackle these obstacles. Thanks for sharing!
Real cool! Enjoyed watching it.
The well noise is the plunger rattling there is a metal plunger in there for lifting water it’s a gas well so the gas flows on its own but the water doesn’t come up with it and eventually the water will build up enough to kill the well then they have to swab the well so there is a timer depending on how much water the well makes how long it flows between dropping the plunger when the plunger drops the desired amount of time the gas flow will resume and lift the plunger and in doing so it will lift water with it
Anybody that runs three pedals is gonna be the winner in my book…manual for life!
Great comedy watching the bleepin crew wear old man slip-ons at Windrock....LOL
If rhino woulda aired down a little more I think it woulda helped alot. Sweet rig
Long time viewer. Rhinocon is my mechanic. And seeing him hold his gas pedal makes me second guess my decisions. 😂😅❤
😆
That 4bt sounds cool.
Nice waterfall. Beautiful place. Good job guys. Thank you 😊
Trail 30 is one of my favorite trails at windrock, but we broke two track bars on the front of a friend's rig at the first ledge coming out and that sucked. Lol. We took a (mostly) stock Xterra through 30
“Give a Hoot. Don’t Pollute!”
I would own either one of them rigs. But the rear stear on the scorpion crawler is awesome. That that diesel Jeep was pretty freaking awesome like what he did on the last part 3wheeled it up the hill on his side darn neer
That 4BT Jeep is so sick, just needs some rear steer and it would be unstoppable!
This is my kind of wheelin, exploring on foot is half the fun. The mf Josh clip with the monkey 😂dam.
Not too much left of the Jeep in either one of those is there? Good content though!
Scorpion for the win!! Again!! Awesome Machine!!
I am amazed at those angles the engine doesn't run out of oil.
BEST UA-camr around! Thanks for another great video, loved it!
The tractor was getting 25 mpg on the trail :). There is just something about the way they sound, I love it!
I think the video you were referring to about using a rope to act as a throttle cable was in Merlin's old school garage. When he was moving that old junker mobile home that had a diesel engine way in the back. Yeah sense they were able to get the engine running that was probably the only worth anything on that rig.
I think he was referring to the video Matts offroad recovery did with donut media. When the wrecker's throttle cable got wrapped up in the steering column.
That looks like prime mushroom territory in early april. I grew up where you could walk about a mile out the backdoor and find berries as big as your thumb. Those were good days. Kinda buried the lead with the blood aspect to the scene. The thing sounds like a thing to avoid, unless the saving of someone was missed.
Wheel base hurts the Rhino. Very cool rig!
I'm a fan of the 4BT swap.. pricey swap, but nice. ;)
I think he was dinging into the bank and snagging on all his TRAIL RATED DECALS. But man that is one heavy duty jeep.
The scorpion wins again nice job 🏁🏁🏁
I think you got him Matt ,good show .
I've driving construction trucks for too many years, occasionally brought back 5x4 Transmission, dump trucks with a string because the fuel linkage broke.. you can get pretty busy back spreading stone with
a string in 1 hand, hoist levers,2 transmissions and the steering wheel all at once 😊
That Diesel JK is a beast!! Funny I installed that same front bumper on my Liberty but my KJ is definitely not as cool as the Wrangler! Plus this Video has some sweet wheeling action!!
Basically, cake story sums up the current direction of our country unfortunately. Gotta pack heat these days, and not for bears either.
Lol at the Funny looking tractor Following you matt like a lost puppy 😂😂 4:00 @BleepinJeep
What fell off the wrangler while trying to start it at 26:56ish
I have seen what the scorp can do but I was really impressed with the jeep
Ram pump.
Been along time since I've watched bleeping jeep. BREAD THUMB!
Ok it's decided. He's got better throttle control with his hands. Lol.
We were waiting for the punchline of the cake story. We weren't expecting it to be a real story!
Lol, nope 🙅♂️ it's a real methed up situation 😅
That Cummins would last forever 💪🏻🇺🇸👍
I now rethink my Colorado ZR2 on trail No. 7…. Damn it!
The noise coming from the well is the natural gas flowing thru the pipe the sound is a rabbit aka plunger that when the well is cut off it sits at the bottom of the well then it opens the gas flows in from the well bore then pushes the rabbit up the pipe pushing the water and condensate up thru the pipe thru the separater then thru to the main line!
That was a fun challenge episode.
The JK needs some antirocks
As always, great video!
Imagine the rhino with rear steer and sway bars 😮
I was like 1000! Im here for the engagement!
A true master with the finger!
🤣
Both Jeeps were pretty cool to watch. I've been missing my Cherokee Tuff Truck I got rid of lately since I've been watching BJ's Scorpion and MORR's Banana due to the colder weather moving in. I may have to grab another Cherokee some time after I finish getting my YJ a v8 and putting it back on the road.
Gotta love the old xjs
Great video guys! I am curious as to why you chose those tires for the scorpion?
They are an inexpensive all around good tire that anyone can buy.
Cake stuff 45acp got too carry out there
If there is a rainbow that means you need to dig for gold and right behind that waterfall 🤪🤙
The Cummins Jeep is a beast like the scorpion
Seen you guyys heading up the road but lost you after I had to check in
I think a 2 door rig would have made it through a couple of those spots a little easier.
It was fun to watch thanks. 😅
WHERE IS JEREMY AND THE CHUBBY CHASER? MISS HIM!
I got a freedom winch line 😂😂😂
The RhinoCon is a sweet JKUR nice Cummins cool rig Just had to mess with him and his funny looking chrysler Tractor 😂 all seriousness though cool rig 33:00 @BleepinJeep
That Jeep that's following it sounds like a tug boat 🚢.
It’s never the climbing up slick stuff that gets you it’s the coming down.
actually, on the old diesel submarines they have sea water come in the bottom of the fuel tanks and helps equalize the pressure .
Did it not mix? I guess there are no rough roads in the ocean
no it does not mix, water sits on the bottom now you are talking thousands of gallons, and it is always run through Seperators and filters just in case. I have a1988 ford with a 7.3-liter diesel and it has a separator that looks like a filter and on the bottom of it there is a stem you can open and drain any water out that might get into the system. It has a sensor in it and on the dash a message that indicates water in fuel and will stall the motor if water gets to a certain level in the Seperator and the Seperator holds less than a quart. Now if he had put water in the tank to raise the fuel level the water would sit on the bottom but if his pickup tube was in the water or due to bouncing around water reached the pickup tube he would have a problem. I believe the Seperator would be ok till you got may be 4 or 5 oz s in it then you would have a shutdown. Another advantage to a diesel is it can sit for a year or two and you can start it right up and not worrie about the cylinders rusting up like a gas motor the diesel fuel is like a lubricant. I have a diesel generator that runs the whole house, and it has sat for 3 yrs. without being run and then it firers right up and ran for a week str8 last time I used it without any problems. all I ever do is change the oil and put fuel in it and it is from the 60s it is a GM 672 series@@bleepinjeep
Matt, what’s your thoughts on putting a stroker in? I was thinking of doing either the Golan like MORR or Newcomer Racing, but I can’t find anyone who’s used Newcomer even on NAXJA. Wondering if you’ve heard about them. Thanks for the video!
I’ve got Nick’s niftyshifter too definitely a 11/10 purchase for my aw4 it’s been a game changer! Everyone should get it
I dont believe in strokers, never seen one last.
@@bleepinjeep dang that’s good to know. Maybe I’ll stay away then. Thanks!
That diesel is a beast! I'd have to call it a draw this time, but if I had to choose between the two, I'd go for the Scorpion.
The Diesel was pretty cool.
That tractor dosent seem to be doing very well on this section lol 😂 more power and torque dont always help ya in slick mud 20:24 @BleepinJeep
The Rhinocon was definitely a beast, but the Scorpion easily took the win on every challenge except for the mud hole
True. I think the rhinoceros wS more built for Florida mud whompin
@@bleepinjeep could be, but seems a little low on rpm for a mud build.
I haven't seen an XJ in this video yet.
Winner comes out with the biggest smile, or the least damage 😅 I guess that's enough said
On the well there is a rabbit in the pipe.gas pressure is keeping it up.close the valves it will drop down.the just forgot to close the valves
Both rigs did great, I'd say the Rhino did better seeing as how that was his first time.
And a diesel 4x4 is just cool.
Should have tied to under the seat mount, could have just pushed his foot down hard, lol almost normal
scorpion such a great rig but damn I love me some commancheap videos
Got one in the pipeline
For the throttle.
Maybe could have tied it to the base of the seat and stepped on it?
Hmmm, good idea 💡
rubicon looks like he has a bit too much tire pressure, the tires aren't conforming to the rocks at all
Rhino was the most entertaining lol
Diesel can't do much above idle. Torque comes on 2 fast 2 be of use on trails like this.
Rather have the Cummins… torque and hp…and fuel mileage if built right 🤷♂️
Didn't they film"The Hills Have Eye's up there" ???
Bleeping jeep disclaimer, do t come ride unless your ready to break sh*t" me shows up with more scratches than the scorpion 😅
