- In this video, Mooney explores the standard "I'll Remember April." He comments on the original version from the 1942 film "Ride Em Cowboy," as well as versions by Clifford Brown and Max Roach, Charles Mingus, Charlie Parker, and Frank Sinatra. Finally, he plays several choruses with a backing track.
Wow, rarely i hear such good prhasing and flow! Reminds me of Mike Moreno,. Thanks for your generosity posting all these great videos, really appreciate it!
@@solarplexus3949 thanks!
Those Clifford Brown albums are the best.
Yes indeed!
Two things y'all: 1) I'm bad at math. "I'll Remember April" is (duh) 48 bars, ABA form, each section is 16 bars; 2) this is the Clifford Brown solo I was talking about at 12:26 ua-cam.com/video/E-UFqe17vSo/v-deo.htmlsi=krIlebsCQs27DlV2&t=25. He does the transgressive lick in measures 22-24. That is all, thanks!
10:05 3*16 = 48 bars
@@hugo54758 haha, I know #brainfart
@@DavyMooneyMusic haha nonetheless I appreciate the time and effort you put into those free videos (that should have been my first comment). I look forwards to other standards being explored
@@hugo54758 There's more coming for sure!
