Yes I am old enough to remember these on the roads. Real luxury vehicles so not as common as some. I have a story about this vehicle. When I was young I did the scrap metal run for the refrigeration business where I worked. Circa 1979/1980. The boss at the yard had one so this day a young fella reversed the forklift plumb into the front of the bosses LTD. So that solid rear end of the fork smashed in the front of the LTD. I learnt that day that the front nose cone was fiberglass.😁
My deepest thanks from all of us in Australia Rodd!! What a delicious, sumptuous and exquisite example of one of my very favourite Ford vehicles anywhere on the globe. As you know, I owned a P5, so the LTD by Ford (AU) is dear to my heart. Magnificent! Her colour combination is very close to my lovely Shadow - again, delectable colourway :)
Beautiful specimen, Rodd. I like the Lincoln style light switches on the rear doors... I always thought that was the perfect place for reading light controls... with Cadillacs, you have to reach behind and over your shoulder... very awkward. The placement of the power seat controls on the console hints of Rolls-Royce, but the lack of power door locks surprised me. I also get a kick out of the flow through ventilation ports on either side of the rear window. Very nice. Unique. However, for perfect '70s luxury, it needs the quintessential coach/opera lamps. 😉
Fabulous car, great colours too. Was that filmed in Australia? There was a time when anyone in Australia who was anyone had one of these - from the Prime Minister down, these things ruled the road. Remarkable effort by Ford Australia to create a large luxury cruiser using mostly Falcon and Fairlane parts.
I enjoy seeing cars that were not available for sale in the USA. My personal favorite is the P5 version of the Australian LTD, but this one stands out and must be quite a conversation piece for many people trying to figure out what it is.
This has a passing resemblance to - and would've been - a nice AMC Ambassador! The front end of this would've been much better than that hideous "coffin nose" front end adopted by AMC Ambassadors/Matadors in '74!
Lovely and the choice for location filming with music is perfect.
@@TheJohnebey thank you…. I enjoyed doing it also.
Holy cow.
That is as good an example of this great car that must exist on the planet!
My Texas brain had a bit of trouble adjusting to it, but it is a beautiful car. It is such a difference from what I grew up with. I wonder why?
Looks like an AMC Ambassador and a Chrysler Cordoba had a baby.

What a stunningly beautiful P6 LTD! I'm from California, so love seeing these cars up close like this.

All of your videos should start with “Hello Possums!” 😂
Boy, the front of the car really looks like a Chrysler Cordoba of 1975........
Looks like a Mercury Monarch with Mercury Marquis Brougham hubcaps.
@@daniellatimer1876 indeed, styling cues were taken from Mercury especially the Marquis Brougham
@@roddsala4626 , my dad had a 1978 Mercury Marquis Brougham with those hubcaps on it.
The front end says "fine Corinthian leather"
Rodd you should have used 1970s Porno music in this video.
🤣🤣🤣
