Full Show: Dream Bedroom and Learning Space Renovation for Child with Autism and Loving Family

- Thomas Callahan has autism and is non-verbal. RPM is a communication technique that helps Thomas express himself through spelling, pointing and writing and has helped bring together the Callahan family. This training has been a huge blessing for this family, however, it requires daily attention and a dedicated learning space. George Oliphant and the George to the Rescue team came to the rescue to give this family, and Thomas, the perfect place to learn with no distractions. Not only did we revamp Thomas' space, but we transformed his parent's bedroom into a chic suite.

My Grandson is my HERO. He has Autism and at 16 went on Kidney Dialysis. At 23 he had a transplant He also suffers from Crohn's Disease, a serious Bowel disorder.. You never hear him complain though. That's why he is my Hero.
You are right. These Guys could teach the 🌎 World about REAL LOVE.

Callaghan with a 'G' here but love the name "Thomas" as my late grandfather (killed by a drunk driver when I was 5) was named Thomas and in his honour we named our first born Thomas-Jay.

I did not see the garish green patchwork wall that they had originally planned and I'm very happy that it seems to have disappeared.
Very nicely finished and definitely the calming, non-distracting design that was needed.
The aim was always to design a calming reflective space, so thrilled for Thomas and the family.
The painted wall in the office is subtle but adds so much to the room. It's simply beautiful. David Santiago is a gifted designer, and we're so lucky he did our rooms.
The best rhing already happened that he got his expression back with RPM.
This made me cry. I have several Autistic great nephews and as a D.S.P. , I have worked with several. WHAT A JOY.
Fantastic job George! The designer ( David) used such a beautiful color pallet in both rooms. Hope to see him again in your future rescues.

I so wish we had a George in my city. I so need help with my two grandsons bedroom roof. They've lived with me since birth. The youngest one is also autistic. When it rains the water just pours like a river down the one wall and there's drips over where their beds are so they get wet. Had different people come in and fix it three times and still have the same problem and that cost me R21000 which as a pensioner now, I can't afford it. So when it rains I have to move the boys into the lounge. Bless George and that family. Connor has a beautiful setup in his room now to help him.

This episode is touching, I also have the same situation as Thomas(autism and epilepsy for 30+years) and I understand wat he is going through.
I just find this channel and can’t stop to watch several episodes. All the stories just touch my heart and make me want to cry.
This video I think is my absolute favorite. Not only was the spare room calm looking but also such a welcoming place for the oldest son to use when visiting. As for the parents bedroom and walk-in closet, AWESOME!!! So beautiful! What a nice retreat for them. You are the man, George, you are the man. ❤️

couple things i wasnt happy with he is not a child but a grown man with autism and the other thing is he is not a dog it irked me to no end when the father patted his head but it was a good video of a person and how autism affects the whole family

I love the story, but I have to say the parents both of them the way they talk. They’re either not from here or they got something wrong with the way they talk. I can’t figure it out because the mom really sounds like she doesn’t speak very well. I don’t know if anybody else sees it.
