I saw a clip from an American news shoe about 18 months ago reporting on how the CEO of North Face apparel had been bitching about fossil fuels and how we should be switching to renewables and all that guff, another guest representing the oil and gas industry and said something to the effect of “I wish you well in your chosen career sir and remind you that 90% or more of the products you manufacture and charge a high premium for have petroleum as an ingredient” 😆
@@Davey_bfg71 I’m confused about the rubber parts, I was under the impression it came from trees? Like latex? And we could definitely do with proper insulation in the old houses. There are bio plastics too which can be used, bamboo, there are many alternatives. Why are petrochemicals needed for chewing gum? I will be looking into all this, very interesting. Do you know there is a theory of abiotic oil production? Which states that it’s not a finite resource.
One thing to consider when he says about floods in Pakistan, Pakistan is partially - about a third or more of the country - built on a flood plane so that when the monsoon comes it cannot contain it. I may be wrong but the monsoons are a fact of life

Maybe a dumb question.....but why would you expect the government to insulate your home? If it's your home......the technology has been around for many decades so that homeowners could insulate their homes. Just who do these people think they are making demands? Do any of them work? If not, just go away until you have put something into the country and stop disrupting people who are trying to get to work.
It is common sense; if you would like your home insulated, then get a job and insulate your home. What am I missing ? Also, they should fine them heavily for blocking traffic, and keep them in jail until those fines are paid. They do not have jobs, and their parents (whom they surely still live with) will get very tired of paying their fines. These people are in no place to make " demands". We are at least 100 years away from having commercial planes that can fly across the oceans without using fossil fuels. The same goes for large ships that transport all of our products and consumables, so these people need to face reality. The electrical grid can not handle it, and this fake climate agenda is completely BS and without proof backing up their claims.
I am doing my bit...I had 1000 litres of heating oil delivered instead of my usual 1200, also I have 3 cords of wood cut instead of 4 cords. This young man needs to come and live where I live...-40°C . In the winter.

FFS, that's a bit gruesome XD I'd say just leave the twits glued to the road. They need to grow up and this is a good place for them to start, by realising that there aren't always going to be grown ups to look after them when they have a tantrum
So they want wind turbines, requiring many tonnes of plastic for each blade which only comes from crude oil, how do we build turbines without oil? We don't.....many tonnes of copper for each turbine that can only be dug out the earth and is also a finite resource, many tonnes of cobalt lithium etc which again can only he dug out the earth and a finite resource So without the oil we can't make the plastic for turbines, can't dig the mineral resources out the ground as they require massive excavation machinery to dig up, and transportation out of remote places where an electric vehicle won't do the job Why don't these ppl see its all a big con job? U can't make renewables without fossil fuels, that will never change, every turbine needs massive amounts of plastic, which need fossil fuels And that doesn't even get into what would replace the plastics in our lives? The plastics that make things lighter and so more efficient or more convenient? Our plastic windows? Gutters? Plastics that house small electrical components? Plastic can be recycled once then its only good for cheap clothing, without fossil fuels it could become one of the rarest things around, yes there may be alternatives we don't know about but we need to find them before killing the current supply

The worlds largest battery storage in Australia couldn’t run a town for more than a few hours, all batteries are enclosed in plastic casing which comes from oil.
@@marcwilliams9824 it also takes 50-65x the energy to create a lithium battery as it can contain, which doesnt include the mining process or transport etc and i get that its rechargeable but it takes a long time for just one of these things to erase its own carbon footprint and that doesnt take into consideration the energy used to charge it each time either
Thing is, here in the US, a trucking company wanted to convert to complete EV semi-trucks. They were located near a town of 50,000. So the trucking company asked the local government for the go-ahead to build the charging infrastructure, using the local power utility to build the infrastructure. The local power utility said no, after they said that the power consumption of the trucking company would equal that of the entire 50,000-person population -- in essence, the power utility would have to supply double the power, with fully 50% going to the trucking company. At the end, the municipality denied the trucking company the permits to build a charging infrastructure for a full EV trucking fleet. And thing is, a car has a 1500 lb. battery pack -- while a big rig semi truck has an 8000 lb. battery pack. And that's a Tesla semi truck.
Absolutely love Cristo. Totally unique on TalkTV in that he asks the proper questions whilst trying not to pick a fight. But he remains firm in wanting an answer. I say this as someone who despises Thatcher whilst Cristo has a photo of her on his wall. That's what life should be about, liking someone and listening despite political differences. Edit: Hope nobody noticed my micro aggression in spelling Cristo's name wrong. He will always be Christo to me unfortunately!
The word demand is used so many times. Educate, engage and people might go with you, these kids think they have the answers, reality is they don’t and blocking roads and bridges hurts their message
Wonder what this child would say if he was brought up in the 60's. One coal fire in one room only for all the family to keep warm, then the coal runs out so kindle is used, damp rooms, no mobiles to phone for help just run down to the phone box on the corner. Perhaps he would then have something to complain about.
I no have any sympathy or support for them. I stopped listening and understanding when they started with the orange paint vandalism and the road blocking. I spitefully want the government to now open more oil fields, based on my anger with Just stop oil.
It's tiresome to listen to children tell us how to fix the world! Although it's a clever strategy by the eco-loonies, putting kids up as their 'spokesmen' for media interviews so interviewers give them an easy time. Media outlets should play the same game & refuse to talk to kids - spokesmen need to have graduated from some form of tertiary education at the very least.
Seeing as it’s today’s kids that are going to be dealing with the consequences of what our government is doing now, they have every right to make their voices heard.
terrorists have been doing that for centuries, kids to the front lines. the uvf and ira in Northern Ireland would put all the small kids to the front lines of their riots to stop police just shooting them. this is no different so it's a terrorist organisation and not legal protest
You could tell that Zoe was a member of the Stop Oil Brigade. She got on her soap box and would not let Christo get a word in. So typical of these people.
I have an idea 💡 we take their generation and for every minute they spend on a device that requires electricity ie their laptops and phones they must spend that same time peddling a dynamo bike. let their fat little legs and pedal power produce the energy they consume
I notice he changed the subject when Cristo suggested they go and block the Chinese Embassy, could it be their left wing leanings causes them to have a conflict of interest.
The chinese infiltrating our universities could be part of this . Use our young to cause issues and division whilst china continues to build cial fired power stations .
North Sea gas has been running out since the early 80s.. 🤭Oil has between 50-100 years left.. I’m not suggesting we should wait to the last minute, but capitalism will leave it as late as it’s allowed.. We have been pushed into paying 25% green tax on fossil fuel bills, buying EV vehicles which have a worse carbon footprint than a petrol or diesel car when EVERYTHING is taken into account.. We are now paying the price for wasting billions in research that ultimately has led to very little as an alternative.. Nuclear can deliver but comes with its own risks, however what we are doing now, banning ICE by 2030 is a disaster we will regret..
Zak's entire argument collapses totally when you consider that there isn't actually any climate 'crisis'. We've easily got 300 years to devise ways to get around any slowly-changing conditions.
He should have asked the child to explain the connection between carbon and the climate. In Roman times the owner was 3 degrees hotter than it is now. That was without Julias Ceaser going round in a 4X4. When you confront these kids with science, which they assume is on their side, they stutter and lash out while we all know an argument shouted is an argument lost

Excellent Dave. As a long retired Industrial Chemist I think your 'article' should be compulsory reading for every politician, adult and teenager.
No stockings?
Abiotic oil theory - are you familiar with?
..things look so simple and straightforward when you're about ten....😊....
Oil and gas are such a wonderful blessing, we would be back in the 1800s without it, this kid has no idea!
One thing to consider when he says about floods in Pakistan, Pakistan is partially - about a third or more of the country - built on a flood plane so that when the monsoon comes it cannot contain it. I may be wrong but the monsoons are a fact of life
Christo, you deserve respect for your calm and polite response to such idiocy.
Yes very embarrassing and he shouldn't be spouting this nonsense unless he knows the facts and has a solution. No mention of nuclear power whatsoever. All he is doing is freaking out vulnerable and paranoid people instead of giving them hope. No doubt being funded by certain groups.
I’m amazed you gave that schoolboy so much air time given he had almost nothing factual to say
OMG i swear Zak was about to burst into tears a number of times...this has made my day. Thank you Cristo lol

This was painful watching a child who has been brainwashed to believe something he doesn't understand.
If this muppet is the future, God help us
Thankfully I don’t think he is. He’s just part of a very small but loud minority. Most young people I know couldn’t careless about the environment. They’re like most previous young people and want to be with their friends and have a laugh.

Maybe a dumb question.....but why would you expect the government to insulate your home? If it's your home......the technology has been around for many decades so that homeowners could insulate their homes. This kid probably doesn't realize the "government" doesn't have "revenue:.....just "taxes"....you know the stuff that we give them every week from our paycheques and purchases.
They want everything handed to them on a silver platter. I guarantee you that kid isn’t planning on working for a minute of his life.

Just who do these people think they are making demands? Do any of them work? If not, just go away until you have put something into the country and stop disrupting people who are trying to get to work.
A tiny minority don't have the right to demand anything!
Exactly. That's what they are too stupid to realise.
All you need is to take one look at them and you know they have nothing useful to say.
Oh to be young and know everything! Love the way he demands everything. Come up with solutions and we might listen.
As Del Boy would say " What a plonker". I don't want to get away from oil and gas Zak.
I am doing my bit...I had 1000 litres of heating oil delivered instead of my usual 1200, also I have 3 cords of wood cut instead of 4 cords. This young man needs to come and live where I live...-40°C . In the winter.
The little child does not understand what he is behind, he just want to protest.. whoopiii
Every year it's another "few years" until doom's day. It's been like this at least since the mid 1970s! 😩
Reminds me of my old workplace........every year since 1978 they were saying mass redundancies......the only redundancies were natural................
Exactly, this young kid obviously thinks that this so called catastrophe has only been going on since he was born.
Long before that actually.
Soylent green is people! Film came out in 73 but based on a book from the mid 60s!
Even earlier than that.
The cops seriously need to investigate all these eco groups as they are frightening these young people who a fair few i think have got mental health issues.
Investigate who is funding them but we know who they are, 6 million ring a bell
When you listen to the kids used as voice pieces they use the same buzzwords and phrases. Its almost like they are members of some form of cult.

Demanding is the key word he uses here. You won't get any where love with demands and hissy fits.
Just YANK their hands off the road!
FFS, that's a bit gruesome XD I'd say just leave the twits glued to the road. They need to grow up and this is a good place for them to start, by realising that there aren't always going to be grown ups to look after them when they have a tantrum
i’d pay good money to see what happens after a few days without a comfort break😂
Leave them there I say, and we can all laugh when they have to take a dump in the road
CS gas or pepper spray them, beat them with batons then rip their hands off whatever they glue them on surfaces with. Then jail and bill them.
Simple.
Just leave them
Make that kid live in a house for 6 months with no heating, no light , no power.....................then have the conversation with him.
This is my favourite interview of all time !
So they want wind turbines, requiring many tonnes of plastic for each blade which only comes from crude oil, how do we build turbines without oil? We don't.....many tonnes of copper for each turbine that can only be dug out the earth and is also a finite resource, many tonnes of cobalt lithium etc which again can only he dug out the earth and a finite resource
So without the oil we can't make the plastic for turbines, can't dig the mineral resources out the ground as they require massive excavation machinery to dig up, and transportation out of remote places where an electric vehicle won't do the job
Why don't these ppl see its all a big con job? U can't make renewables without fossil fuels, that will never change, every turbine needs massive amounts of plastic, which need fossil fuels
And that doesn't even get into what would replace the plastics in our lives? The plastics that make things lighter and so more efficient or more convenient? Our plastic windows? Gutters? Plastics that house small electrical components? Plastic can be recycled once then its only good for cheap clothing, without fossil fuels it could become one of the rarest things around, yes there may be alternatives we don't know about but we need to find them before killing the current supply
Well said! 👏👏👏
They also need OIL😂to lubricate the blades to keep them turning

The worlds largest battery storage in Australia couldn’t run a town for more than a few hours, all batteries are enclosed in plastic casing which comes from oil.
And, one of them burst into flames during testing. Four days, 30 fire units, 150 firefighters. But, it's okay. It was 'renewable green' smoke.
The plastic casing is the least problematic part of a battery. Have a look at lithium mining if you want nightmares.
He will always be Christo to me unfortunately!

the smart question is
"WHO FILLED UR HEAD WITH CANDYFLOSS NO U R WRONG GO GT A JOB!"
The word demand is used so many times. Educate, engage and people might go with you, these kids think they have the answers, reality is they don’t and blocking roads and bridges hurts their message
they ain't got jobs so they need to find free entertainment that's all it is self entertainment
"All we're demanding here. . . . " and there's the rub.
Demanding and stamping his feet ,tears are about to fall.

For the future generations!!
