I saw these Chinooks flying in formation over South Wales last night and tracked them on fr24 as they went up the west coast then over the Irish sea (only one of the formation had a transponder showing public) until life and job distracted me. Thanks for completing the story for me! They left Cardiff airport (or StAthan next door) at about 5pm, must have been a refuel stop 👍
just saw one go over my gaff, thank you for the website to track it , never new about it . yeah this US Army chinook also came from cardif and it just stoped at the airport in baldonnell , bit of sightseeing for biden dyou think haha
I had to really search for this location. It's not named on Google Maps, but the road runs through Kingswood Common to the east of Baldonnell Aerodrome. It's the best you can do for overhead shots of them landings from that side, really.
@@Mugdorna I do believe the RAF Chinooks are an older version, and they'll be getting the same as the US Army's in the future. I believe the Netherlands also have the same.
I think the British outfit theirs with rolls Royce engines. While Americans keep theirs with the general electric. Makes it easier to service if you use your own country's parts. I know the RAF do this with their ah64s so probably same story with chinooks

The first clip is Baldonnel, Dublin, the second is Aldergrove. Sorry, only so much I can fit in the title and I wanted to emphasize Chinooks in Dublin. 😂 I did put that in the description though. Will try and see what I can do with the title.
@@CobraEmergency Ha! Yep, walk over to you and humph at you. They get intrigued, want food, very greedy and thats partly good because they'll get fattened up and you know... taken away.
I once went for a piss at the side of a field along the m8 in the 90s after a long drive home. The cows came up alongside the hedge. When we got back into the car and began pulling off the cows all sprinted alongside the car in the field and some even jumped over hedges and others tumbled over. It was like watching the cows run the grand national. These cows ran 40kph no lie.

We saw these fly over yesterday! When is air force one due to arrive? Would love to see it

I'm happy to complete the story for you! Yes, it was a fuel stop at Cardiff Airport. They also stopped in Kent before that on their way from Germany!
How do you filter military only on fr24?

@Vaniter The filter option is at the bottom but looks like you can only filter by aircraft, airline, airport, registration and altitude/speed.
@CobraEmergency okay, I'll stick to west weather then
Where's that spotting location? Also how do you know exactly when these aircraft come?
Baldonnel air corps dublin,
@@seery188 I knew that but do you know the road where he is?

Great footage. Does anyone else think the CH-47's sound very different to our Chinooks ?
Thanks! Whose are yours?
Perhaps the British version have a different engine?

You're welcome! Love bunnies!
Cows intrigued by you! They want some feed lol.
They saw me and came running over. Unfortunately I couldn't give any feed! They then stood behind the bush for the next 30 minutes huffing at me. Lol
