    You make great sacrifices for this channel. You are a noble man to cover these for the entertainment of others. The 2000's films are preferable over all but I would say the initial Boogeyman is worth a watch if you've seen like the majority of other early 80's horror films.

    Lets please not overlook the score of the first. Very underrated, in my opinion on par with halloween and phantasms scores. The boogeyman scared me as a kid. Underrated in my opinion, just forget the sequels.

    Hell yeah!! This is the Boogeyman series I voted for!! Lol, yeah, that does look like the Amityville House. That had to be done on purpose, lol. That whole possession scene from the first one, was genuinely creepy, though.

    I remember thinking this was a version of the Stephen King short story Boogeyman, and boy was I disappointed when I saw it. Years later, around 1995, I was at my first audition for a role in a play being put on by my community theater in Juneau, Ak. I was suffering from some stage fright since I did not know if I could even act. Still, I was hoping that IF I could get in good with a few of these theater people they would want to produce one of the plays I had--at the time--written, so I knew I had to go through with the audition. Only when I got onto the audition stage, facing a darkened house did I discover that I was not to be given a script to read from. I would have to wing it. I had no idea what to do, but knew I was too far into it to back out. It was two days after Halloween, so I thought of all the horror stories I had read, and remembered that only the Stephen King short story Boogeyman would work as a one man play. I lay down on the floor near a chair that had been set in the center of the stage. I could hear the feet of those people out in the darkness as they shifted restlessly. They were waiting for me to do something. I summoned all I could remember of the father's dialogue, and suddenly cried out, "I'll tell you everything! Only, just don't try to jerk it out of me. Let me tell you what happened in my own time. I can't go to a priest because I'm not Catholic. I can't go to the police because I haven't done anything wrong.' I summoned some tears, and then in a harsh rash, I breathed out, "All I did was kill my children. No. No," I said, leaning up on my elbow to face the empty chair. "I didn't actually kill them. Not that way. I just let the Boogeyman get them. One by one, the Boogeyman took all three of my kids." Well, needless to say, I got the part and the rest is, as they say, history.

    I'm 51 nowadays and always found the first one dissapointing in some basic ways , but it's reputation is quite bigger then it actually is say genre importantwise seeming. The 2000 one with Lucy Lawless and then the other one with Tobin bell were quite fun albeit of the time feeling genreewise instead. The second version is way more seeming pyscholgically based kinda sorta.

    • @Gideon13397
      @Gideon13397 3 роки тому +1

      The second was more of psychological slasher film which I kinda liked more than the first because Emile Hirsch was boring as hell. The third one was worth it for the hotness of Erin Cahill.

    these movies have inspired me to make a movie one day that I title don't fear the boogeyman and it not really going to have a boogeyman in it but will focus on a young man who has mental health issues and returns to his home town to face them while at the same time a string of murder happens weirdly based on that persons fear giving the serial killer the name boogeyman, leaving the man to prove his incconest while fighting off his enter demons, i hope to make it a character study and a story that focus on the problems of mental health in today's social so wish me lucky everybody

    When I was young, early 80s, I saw a movie on HBO that I thought was called the Boogeyman, about the ghost of an abusive step-father being trapped in a mirror, and when the mirror breaks, he's free but he's like an invisible man, going around murdering people. But apparently that's not this....

    I want you to know that I am from the 1980s when these movies was being censored and I started out young like 11 years old and ever since then I’ve been watching these movies and I found them vary much interesting even then. But I am trying to write a documentary and actually do a book based on the fall history of these horror films starting with the black-and-white and also the universal horror movies
    And I got a good video for you to do the ceiling if you could see how many boogeyman movies that is out there how about it would anyone willing to see Josh to do a timeline on all of the boogeyman movies that is out there?

    You passed over some serious angry bitching material with BOOGEYMAN 2 REDUX (the "director's cut"). It's the most egregious of the bunch. With Lommel playing the same character being interrogated about the murders 20 years later (wow, and I thought _I_ was a procrastinator), the "director's cut" is not that at all but rather a defacto sequel to the film it _replaces_ . How is a fuck-up like that even possible? As if that wasn't enough of a fail, the "director's cut" also cuts out tons of footage, and before anyone thinks "oh good, the tedious flashback scenes are.." NOOO! _That_ stuff stays and in fact has been increased! (yay?) The footage that comprised the actual sequel part of BOOGEYMAN 2 is what the "director's cut" deems unnecessary filler!
    So yeah, not only did Lommel make _two_ "SILENT NIGHT, DEADLY NIGHT 2" flashback sequels but upon revisiting the first of them he apparently said "screw this sequel crap" and turned it from 45% flashback to *95% flashback* ! But...then shot footage of himself at a table "continuing" the sequel's story...? Again, how is a fuck-up like that even possible?
