Is the starter clutch on this engine the same as a 2001 artic cat 500 Auto Green 4x4.... Mine has a high pitch screeching when i try to start it i need to figure out what is going on i can't be pull starting this thing. I just had cervical spinal fusion and i don't want to be pulling on this thing come this winter.
I am watching this. I also have one of these machines. less than 300 miles. it didn't run for years. I changed the oil, filter and anything else i could change. flushed the gas tank and carb and it started right up. it ran for a few days made this high pitch screech and shut down. I'm looking to replace the motor.
@@johnrappa9096 my starter motor was full of black powdery residue after I took the end cap off to check the brushes, so I cleaned everything out with electric contact cleaner, put the case back together with a little grease on the end of the shaft and no more screaming when trying to start it.

If I was to just inspect trans portion and shafts do I still need flywheel removed
I have a 2005 Suzuki Vinson 500 automatic. Is the gear position sensor behind the belt box cover behind the belt and clutch? It looks like it

If I used a generic flywheel puller, would that work instead of buying that special tool to pull it?
No thats how people damage the crank.
