Hi Susan, I know your time and expertise valuable, I also know this is shot in the dark, but I am going to ask anyways. Could you do a quick breakdown of a sequence from a city council meeting. To sum it up, my town unless otherwise stated in the municipal code follow Roberts rules of order. We have a chair, members, an alleged parliamentarian and a rumored sergeant at arms. I was arrested for speaking over 3 minutes by the police chief without a direct instructions from the mayor. Furthermore there is no 3 minute rule and another council member had raised a point of order before I was removed I that the mayor did not address. I made supercut show all the previous speakers going the non-existent 3 minute rule, some of them kept speaking for 4, 5, even 6 minutes. I would love to have you opinion on this. I should that the municipal code states that only the chair/mayor can direct the the chief/sergeant at arms to remove someone from the meeting. The man off camera that keeps interrupting is the city attorney who is supposed to be the parliamentarian but............ not so much. ua-cam.com/video/jsSYhAxYR_8/v-deo.html

I am sorry that this happened to you and that I am just seeing this now. Contentious meetings seem to be the standard these days. Your situation couldn't have felt good for you. I can't offer any specific feedback. However, as a thought when it comes to information items and comments from the gallary the chair can impose a timeline to keep the meeting flowing forward. However, we can see what mess can be made when the rules and timelines are not understood. Good luck and I wish for you more happy meetings.
