I share the same feeling of excitement when I can build (obviously smaller scale) new areas and reuse things around the property to develop spaces. Love your channel, love the highlands on your farm .
What would farmers do without bail twine? It ties up everything! My dad “repurposed” twine his whole life, and as kids we learned to braid twine for ropes. Thanks Tom, love your channel. Seeing the joy of cattle in fresh bedding is pure sweetness. Cheers 🇨🇦
It makes it all worthwhile when you see them jumping around like dafftys. Why does that baldy man not wear a jacket I’ve got the heating on and he was making my shiver 🥶. Tell the ginger warrior to listen to this guy Richie kavanagh songs. Chicken talk,I love the smell of silage and never say owl. Will put a smile on his face and songs you can’t get out of your head lol 😆 great video as always god bless and stay safe 🙏
That's why you always see old school farmers never throwing anything out because they can always find a use for it down the road. $ saved is a dollar earned. I love the drone shots, it gives you a great perspective of how big the farm actually is.
Defo needs a skid steer 100% then should keep manitou give it a little tlc & possibly invest in a new tractor slightly newer & bigger hp than the hurliman they have now 👍
Ok Tom you might remember me we came from ly them and your dad gave me and dad and mum and brother came and we got a private tour we are farmers at Plumpton penrith cumbria
THAT AMERICAN ACCENT!, It's trippy hearing you talk like us across the pond, unfortunately I can't always understand what your saying due to background noise (unavoidable when on a farm) and the MPHs you speak at 😆 It can be hard to understand alongside the background noise, that said don't change anything, I will still be here watching trying to decipher your words 😉
My father had a way with gates, he didn't like them to work or be easy, why have one gate when 2 or 3 tied with baling twine, sure to break. My gates always in the wrong position. When I went to a proper farm , it was amazing that you didn't have to drag or rebuild gates. One of many reasons I gave up on working with. dad's farm. My cousin worked for welding company that made farm gates, we could have got for cost, or wonky for free.
As a potato farm, the potato you just took a bit from is not good because its too long. The Farm I work at and green, odd shapes, extra large or long potatos go as cattle feed
Those potatoes look good to me as well Tom , I would grab baskets full of them. I would uses the green sheet to cover silage up silage .No nails in ten do to rust starts and then your trough is no good .
We have so many of those old red gates on our farm. They must weigh half a ton! Loved how you fixed that trough. Very clever idea! Such happy cows bouncing in the straw!
Some farms do wash down, we always tried to. We regularly intensely cleaned the parlour and the calf shed and yearly did the cubicles. It wasn't that difficult a job using a pressure washer and a pre wash wet down and spray of hypoclorite. One thing we always did was to lime after cleaning out a shed, helped with ringworm etc.
@@paulf2529 I wash and disinfect between every batch of cattle its not difficult but hey Tom is the face of agriculture what the fuck would i know...🤷♂️
There are honestly only so many hours in a day. If I power washed all the things I wanted to I wouldn't get all the other chores done. Anytime ya want to come on out to powerwash my place? You are welcome to! lol
Love all the music you play... Could u put a link in for the music. Love you guys and the farm. Its educational funny and l wouldn't miss it for any thing. My escape for the week. 💖😊💖
lol YES! I do in fact have heavy as sin old red gates on my farm.. I think it's universal for us all ;) "Well aged" I am now going to say that about all my panels, troughs, and gates. Brilliant
These are the best videos ever, just behind cows going out on spring pasture! Love them, could watch them again anytime. We need a Playlist for just these videos, Tom! Please?
Just be careful using rusty gates we have just had our farm assurance inspection and they picked us up on one rusty gate in our cattle sheds saying it's not safe for the cattle. Great vid keep up the work
Bees, bees bees, why did we not know about your bees, we like bees, you need to add them to your videos in the summer :) Keep up the good work (all of you) we love your videos
Watching you has made me realise how much work does go in to running a farm and sure does look like some fun work! Keep it up Tom👍🏼
I love how happy the calves were when they went in hopping and jumping so sweet, must make all the hard work so worth it 👌❤
I share the same feeling of excitement when I can build (obviously smaller scale) new areas and reuse things around the property to develop spaces. Love your channel, love the highlands on your farm .
I love how you guys use stuff until it has no use left, and then you use it some more. "a rusty gate is lighter to lift" should be a life mantra.
Looks like a good time to me! Now I'm craving taters!!
You'll be catching him up soon Josh. You've got your own cows now. Wooo
always love watching the cows moved . as they jump around like little kids . so funny . keep up the good work.
I was looking for a good farming UA-cam, I found your channel and was blown away. Love the channel man keep up the great work MERRY CHRISTMAS
The calves are looking extremely well they should really fill out in there

I love it when you look up at the camera with a little smile. We know.
I've always wondered how the British did an American accent, now I know 😂. Thanks for that! 👍🏻
Thanks Tom, tell Des to keep his jacket on, he'll catch pneumonia!
ginger guy with a mustache haha
Moostash 😁
Ginger man with the moo-stash.
I see what you did there...
No 1 cares whos first just enjoy the video btw Tom hello from Waterford Ireland great vid 👍
Meath4Sam
Is it not worth you having a bale chopper for bedding up?????

10:27 Tom you should’ve thrown that in the bin 😂

weather looks awful, so wet. The barns are too old, there are farms with best and modern buildings.
That always puts a smile on my face when they go on a new straw bed.
Keep that manitou, less to go wrong on it. Buy a small skid steer for the smaller pens 🤙
Defo needs a skid steer 100% then should keep manitou give it a little tlc & possibly invest in a new tractor slightly newer & bigger hp than the hurliman they have now 👍
Great job. Too much waste in the world. Reduce reuse recycle .
Happy New Year from cold Canada
Dad was not impressed at having to hang about in the rain whilst you set up the drone. Job done though.
show more of dez! i just get a good vibe off him aha
i look up to you so much tom and I really admire that I am irish and we milk 250 cows every evening and my dad does in the morning as I have school !
Does anyone on the farm know how to weld? Seems like if you had someone learn you could get even more use out of those gates.
Do you ever think about getting a straw chopper/blower or do you like doing the manual labour when you straw up?
Good morning from Phoenix
Tom you would use less straw with a straw chopper so it is cheaper
Sam’s Farming life a straw blower would be useless in that shed
Can I ask if you do all this stuff with can-am why are you still in the Kawasaki?
Samuel Bruce good question
Ok Tom you might remember me we came from ly them and your dad gave me and dad and mum and brother came and we got a private tour we are farmers at Plumpton penrith cumbria
Love ye guys
There’s another called family farm maybe when the ginger warrior has had a sherry 😂👍
Hjkkooo
I like it when I see you all interacting with the cows and showing them some love
273rd! GOOD EVENING TOM, LUKE, AND THE GINGER GUY! Roger in Pierre South Dakota USA 😊

You can see that cows are happy, the most beautiful job in the world. It's not easy, but looking at you would say you're enjoying it.
Awwww they are soooo happy jumping around!!!

Your channel was a wonder find in lockdown, love the content and the way you and Ginge present it in such an enthusiastic way 👍👍👍👍
i could do with about 3kg of honey for every time i make 12 bottles of mead...
Looking at the aerial footage of the old Lows building makes me glad that you'll have a fantastic, new modern shed there soon.
Hi Tom nice video i wish you and all your family and workers and all your subscribers a very happy and prosperous new year
Seeing the cows happy when you moved them made me smile

Should’ve spot welded the replacement trough insert at 10:06
When I was a kid I loved eating raw potato. I used to peel them first though. :D
What is under the tires? Where does it come from? How does the pile get so big? How long does it take to get a full pile?
Tom "they don't make gates like they used to" Pemberton
my marathon re-watch of all the vids continues.
Tatties look fine 🤣waste another great video mate 😁🏴
We have so many of those old red gates on our farm. They must weigh half a ton!
Loved how you fixed that trough. Very clever idea!
Such happy cows bouncing in the straw!
It’s like a maze. So many gates. I’m so confused 😂
I never saw cows jump around like yours do...
6:08 “It was at this moment .....he knew he fucked up”
