Hi Jonny, I would like to participate in your program but fail to see which and how. Your videos are so well explained, Ive been trying different videos of yours but cannot decipher. I can read music, perhaps intermediate level but mostly just classical style, therefore a lot of trouble with rhythm, feel like fish out of water when I cant look at sheet music while playing. I tried Happy Birthday but found using 4 notes right hand a bit difficult since Im not used to playing 4 notes, however I could manage octaves.. I love Ragtime and have played after a fashion just reading sheet music, but not very well, lacking rhythm. Im basically self taught, even reading music. I would love to be able to play your style of music. Im a senior and also love Tango music but hard to find easy tango music to play. Please let me know where I should start? Carmen
Not the best explanation of 7th chords at 7:30. For example, he plays D Dorian scale and calls it "D minor". It doesn't matter as much if you just want to play exactly these two chords, but it will be misleading and confusing if you want to learn other progressions in other keys. (Dorian is when you add two flats to the key, which is the same as playing the notes of the major key that's one whole step down, so the notes of C major give you D Dorian when you start on D. "Removing a flat" should be understood as removing a sharp instead, if any remain) For example, C7 has a B-flat at the top, which you wouldn't arrive at just by following the white notes. One whole step down from the octave is a (dominant) 7, and a half-step instead is a major 7.
Good lesson but damnnnnnn you beat around the bush with some of the stuff. Please just take this as constructive criticism but this video could have been taught just as efficiently in half of the time you took
